What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?

Featured Replies

New Vegas, New Vegas, New Vegas. And when I'm bored of that, I play a little New Vegas.

Love this game. I'm in a constant state of realising how much I love it. Definitely joins the ranks of Jak and Daxter 1 and Final Fantasy XII in my favourite games of all time. I'm currently playing through Dead Money and have just assembled my team. Now to set them up for the Gala Event. I really disliked this DLC the first time around, but now, I'm, oh god, I can't believe I'm saying it, enjoying it this time around. I was not looking forward to it at all. I did Honest Hearts back at level 15 (Level 28 now) and will likely do Old World Blues soon after this. The state of affairs back in New Vegas is all over the place, I have all of the main factions except for the Brotherhood doing something in the coming battle.

[hide=Fallout: New Vegas spoilers] I've changed Elders for the Brotherhood, but am yet to do anything to get them to do anything in the battle, looks unlikely that I actually can do anything, actually. The Great Khans will be taking the battle as cover for their move west. The White Glove no longer eat people. Big Sal and Nero kinda accidentally ran into my fists, and Cachino, unfortunately, runs things at Gomorrah. The Boomers have a plane and are willing to blow things up for me. And that's it. Yet to round up the Remnants, but will be sure to do that, too.[/hide]

Love this game. I'll go back to my playthrough of 3 after I finish New Vegas. I kinda abandoned it. Heh.

  • Yeah, it's pretty awesome. The game is called "I'm Clearly Not Paying Attention: Wrong Sub-Forum Addition". It's gotten some pretty positive reviews so far, and the PC port is spectacular.

Started playing DOTA 2 with some friends. I'm absolutely terrible.

A while back there was some Star Wars: Battlefront 2 talk on here. Is there anything good to do with it after the campaign? I saw a Let's Player doing something on the Hoth map with like 100+ units on both sides, is that in the stock game or a mod?

Get back here so I can rub your butt.

100 troops at the battle itself? Mod. Technically, you can only have 16v16 or something like that. You can have 1,000 reinforcements unmodded, but that's not the same as on the battlefield.

Was shopping around the last few days and this is my list. All games for PS3:

Grid 2

Ni No Kuni

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale

Killzone 3

MGS IV

Also bought myself a spanking new and awesome Vita.

The hardware truly is magnificent.

And on the software front I have

Persona 4 Golden

AC 3 Liberation

Rayman Origins

LittleBigPlanet

Rayman was made for this thing, it looks and plays so [bleep]ing well.

The graphics in general are amazing. I get awestruck every second minute I play. The screen is so sharp that I cannot discern pixels unlike on my iPad mini.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

PS all stars is fun but online games take too long to find

I picked up Age of Empires 2 during the steam sale and I've really been enjoying it. I already have around 12 hours of play time but I'm still really bad. There is so much to this game, I'm still trying to understand some of the basics.

aaaaaaa i'm not good at this game

haha you poor soul

seriously though, lock down the castle once you find it and just go at him over and over again once you feel you've got a decent level of items you can pretty much stand on one of the lower platforms and whack away at him, only moving when he does his shotgun attack and staying in between his line attack (which you'll probably need a double jump rune and maybe a flight one too).

if you know all this already and it's just a matter of execution/farm holding you back sorry in advance. i know if someone told me all i had to do to beat the last boss was dodge and stab him i'd get mad as heck.

I'm probably a much higher level than I should be, I've just been spending more time hoarding than practicing. Managed it easily enough after that, and now I'm pretty much double the level of everything in the forest.

Also, Final Fantasy 7. I've never actually played a game from this franchise and for the first ~20 minutes I didn't think I'd like it. It's surprisingly good.

Does it have a good story to it or is the gameplay actually enjoyable? I've seen pictures of the combat and general gameplay, I can't imagine myself enjoying that :S

One must take into the account that FFVII is a game released during the early/prime days of playstation one, and that much of the combat system in FF7 were largely similar from SNES FF game (FF4, 5 and 6), and the series spans several decades.

FF7 is generally considered one of the top of the FF games released in general terms (combat, story, etc). Although I generally play FF games for their story, their combat system is not bad.

It's one of the games where you must try it yourself, and with an open mind, especially when it comes to 7 or earlier games.

I really enjoyed FF7 and still go back to it every so often. Overall I thought the story, especially the back stories on the extra characters, was enjoyable, and the whole storyline with Areis (while kind of slow at first) comes to a pretty emotional head. I was very surprised by it the first time I played through.

THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

I'm not far enough into it to make judgments about the story, but the gameplay is growing on me (And now that Aeris is on healing duty, Cloud might actually survive a boss battle). Really, I just went into it knowing that it's considered one of the best games of all time, and that it popularized a lot of JRPG tropes and cliches.

It's probably worth a try, but if you're not sure if you'll like it you'd be better off waiting for a sale/price drop.

I think I might have played FF7. It would have been one released on the PS, probably towards the end of it's run. I think I remember something about a cruise chip at the beginning, the teacher (?) with laser eyes (some sort of scanner), and a fire God, I think starting with a D. I think the Gods you could call had something to do with trading cards. That sound about right? I played maybe 3 hours of it, and these memories would be about 12 years old or so I think.

I have always wanted to play some of the latest FF games but cannot due to the fact that I don't own any consoles beyond NES and SNES. FFVII is pretty much the first non-2D FF game I have played (Played 4, 5 & 6, but none of the others).

That would be FF8, except I don't know where you got the teacher with laser eyes, that didnt happen.

Perhaps it wasn't a teacher, or perhaps my description is corrupted by the one my friend gave me when he explained the ability. It was Scan I think, to examine the enemy, not like a laser eyes attack.

In any case, good to know which game that was. If I were to ever play a Final Fantasy game, I might look at playing that one first.

It's not very good. The opinions on it are pretty much a 50/50 split, people either love it or hate it. But start with one of the all around loved ones, FF6 or FF7.

I love ff8 more than any other because it is the most complex and has the most developed characters. It was Square's first game trying to get away from the kiddy aspect of final fantasy (hence why ff9 was developed at the same time to suit the simpler players).

Started playing League again alongside DOTA, maybe it's the matchmaking but League is way easier. I usually carry every team I'm on in League, while in DOTA I put up scores like 1-11

Is FF a game that you NEED to play the previous games to understand? I've always been really against doing things out of order; movies, books, and games alike. Probably because I read loads when I was younger and I loved finding a new a good series.
