My first language is english, having been born here. I am also fluent in Polish and can get by in french and german.

My IRC nickname is Adam :)

My first language is Irish, obviously enough fluent in it. My second language is English, fluent in it as well as it's what's spoken in Ireland.

I have very weak French but I'm spending 6 weeks in a French boarding school during February to April on my own with French students so that will hopefully improve my French. I also speak Latin but not great, in Irish schools it's only really thought to translate passages, not to hold convorsations with it.

My order of languages probably is.

1 Irish

2 English

3 Latin

4 French

Je parle en français parce que j'étudié pour cinq années à l'école, mais je ne parle pas français très bien parce que je n'ai pas fait les études après l'école à la college*.

Oh God, it's been three years since I last used French! I don't even think that's right. To think I got an A at GCSE level too.

[hide=*]It's meant to read:

I speak French because I studied for five years at school, but I do not speak French well because I did not study at college after school.[/hide]

Essentially, what he said.

Although I don't remember much, so when someone asks me to say something in french, I always respond with Montaigne's, "Que sais je?" ("What do I know?")

I think "know" in French is "sais". They always taught me "je ne sais pas" (I don't know).

Anyways, my languages.

1. Frysian. My mother language. Only spoken in parts of Holland.

2. Dutch. Mandatory in Holland :P

3. English. My English skills have developed over the years which makes me quite able to handle myself in English.

4. German. Had to learn the language in school. Never paid much attention, but since it's quite similar to Dutch, I can understand most of it and even speak it myself.. a bit.

5. French. Had to learn that language aswell. Forgot most of it, do still know some stuff about it.

6. Latin. I can't speak it, but I do know a lot of Latin words due to my study of medical biology.

i know english and swedish, and randomly decided to learn russian yesterday. i hope to have learned it by the end of three years...

I speak English fluently, and at school I study french, spanish and latin. I'm taught all three, but haven't learned 'em. I'm not particularly interested in foreign languages.

Norwegian as native language, which ultimately make me capable of understanding most of Danish and Swedish. Quite fluent in English. Have been studying French for about 4 1/2 years, but I can't really have a conversation in French.

If I ever master French, I think I'm gonna learn Esperanto, or maybe Latin.

English is the only language I can speak, shamefully. I don't think I could put the effort in to learn another. I'd like to learn Russian, if only to read some Russian literature in the original text.

La lune ne garde aucune rancune.

Fluent Russian, English and Ukrainian.

I'm gonna be taking Japanese next year

Native language is English.

You are going to regret it. In a good way. Japanese is one of the stupidest languages to learn ever.

When you start just memorise as quickly as you can the kanas and unlearn how to pronounce words if they were in English. It'll make learning it so much faster. Then just dont try and avoid the subject of kanji and get stuck in. Im trying to learn atleast 5 kanji daily and thats slow compared to what most books recommend. Flashcards really are the king of revision aids for moonspeak, though.

My native language is English. I studied French for 3 years, and lived there for a while. I studied Finnish for a year. I would have done more of that, but that was all that was offered at my school. I'd love to learn more Finnish.

Native language is American English. I've taken three years of spanish in school but honestly I didn't really learn anything. I'm currently taking French to full fill my university language requirement. If any language I would like to learn it would be Greek just because its a huge part of my heritage.

Native language is Dutch, French is my second, English is my third. I'm studying German now and in two years I'll be picking up Spanish/Italian.

Natively I speak English. I can also speak quite a bit of French and Mandarin as well as a very small amount of Russian, German and Spanish.

Native: English

Learning: Spanish + German. German is easier by far. I'm dropping Spanish ASAP.

Learnt in the past: Latin + Mandarin

So don't let anyone tell you you're not worth the earth,

These streets are your streets, this turf is your turf,

Don't let anyone tell you that you've got to give in,

Cos you can make a difference, you can change everything,

Just let your dreams be your pilot, your imagination your fuel,

Tear up the book and write your own damn rules,

Use all that heart, hope and soul that you've got,

And the love and the rage that you feel in your gut,

And realise that the other world that you're always looking for,

Lies right here in front of us, just outside this door,

And it's up to you to go out there and paint the canvas,

After all, you were put on the earth to do this,

So shine your light so bright that all can see,

Take pride in being whoever the [bleep] you want to be.

Native language is English, and I speak a pretty good amount of Italian (studying for 2 years)

Unfortunately, my school only teaches Spanish, Italian, French, and ASL, no Asian languages at all

Unfortunately, my school only teaches ASL
