Natedoggygog
Well, I saw a discussion on what the next dragon item will be, and it got me thinking. What about those high-leveled slayers out there? What do you think will be the next drop for a slayer monster/what type of drop do you think it will be? Personally, I believe that the drop will be some sort of magic weapon, dropped by a monster which needs level 95 slayer. I would think this because we already have a melee weapon (abyssal whip), ranged weapon (dark bow), but no magic weapon. What do you think? pka7
I'm gunna be honest with you, I don't think it's going to be a level 90+ slayer monster. I'm thinking a level 77 slayer monster will be next. 95 seems a little high and the monster wouldn't be as popular as a level 77 monster. But I do agree, I feel like the next item will be magic related.
Michael
I won't be happy till there's a 95/99 slayer monster with a new weapon drop that cannot be killed with wild pies.

wakka102
lvl 95 slayer monster: EXTREME!!!! Farmers weapon drop: light shovels. they let off an area effect of light that works like radiation, doing area effect damage like a chinchompa would accept its a melee weapon. and everybody would be like "woooo l33t shovel!! I want!!" or we could just have a dragon pickaxe?...anybody?... 8-)
Lets_3ekout
I want teh bazook so i can be lyk b00m lulz. The munsta tht drups shud be lyk lv 47 (lyke ak-47) n b a gy-ant BAZUKA n if u atk it u dye instnatly lulz. yu need lvl 105 sly so u nd lyk cape and pye and i no thy dun stack but thy do for ths. err... A 95+ slayer monster would be really nice to shoot for. I'm going for 90 slayer as a long-term goal and it just feels like it's going to be short lived, even though I'm not cannoning ATM. The gap between 90-99 is painful as it is. Knowing Jagex, the next slayer monster will be a level 3 slayer monster that drops trimmed bronze daggers. Low C
Maybe a level 92 slayer monster that drops Dragon Picks and The pick requires 92 mining and 92 slayer to use :o
Parkzer
Do we really need a Dragon Pickaxe? We already have an Inferno Adze, I think it's better to upgrade the adze so you need level 60 mining to use it, and it mines as fast as a theoretical Dragon Pickaxe. Slayer monsters already give one of the most powerful melee weapons and bows, so I think it's time for a Dragon Crossbow... Parkzer.com

killerbeer0
Well. A magic weapon would need to attack faster, or add wicked amounts of defense and/or magic attack. Perhaps unlocks a magic spell that is highly powerful, maybe make it able to cast miasmic as well as that stupid pvp staff. OH S***! He/she/it is back! Makoto_the_Phoenix
Follow the pattern -- whatever it will be will be level 95, and it will have a drop that benefits Magicians. Consider that the Abyssal Demon and Dark Beast drop the Abyssal Whip (Melee) and Dark Bow (Range); it only makes sense that Magicians wouldn't be left out of the loop (for much longer now). It would probably be a level 60-70 staff with a high magic bonus or a nice special.
bmnp
i think they would release a monster where the level required is 87-88 or 92-93 before a monster you need 95 to kill

Krampell
I would like to see a slayer creature at either 92 slayer or 95, or maybe both.
AlexDT
I'll go with a level 94 slayer requirement, since 95 seems too obvious. I think it'd be cool to see a boss-like slayer monster - think Kree'arra, or K'ril Tsutsaroth, only you need to wear a specific shield, or helmet, or weapon, etc, and you need 94 slayer to go anywhere near it without being obliterated. Of course it'd have to be soloable (unless it wasn't an assigned task), but you'd finish your task faster if you went with a team. Oh, and the unique drop is easy: I cannot remember where I heard this, but it made me laugh. "P1: But they've already made a Godsword. I mean, what weapon could be more powerful than a sword of the gods? P2: Occam's Razor."
stormveritas
I agree with topic starter. I think this will be a level 95 slayer monster, and to have some mage based weapon is the next logical progression. Of course, it may be days, weeks, month, or years before that is released. I would imagine Jagex is reluctant to cap out slayer any time soon.

Randox
Oh, I have a resonable idea (sort of): Solve the dragon pickaxe and magic slayer drop at the same time. Make some new monster drop the ehtereal pickaxe. It has the mining speed that a dragon pick would, but if you melee with it, it does magic damage. BUT, since mages don't want to melee and it would be like a giant middel finger to them, it should be useful to mages in other ways. It could add a spell to the lunar book (like the slayer staff does to the normal book), that allows you to mine ores in a 3x3 box (which is not over powered because all the useful ores tend to be spred out, and it charges runes for each ore). Now, to continue with my lunar theme, it will also allow the casting of all elemental spells (but no curse, bind, teleport etc.) while on the lunar book without the need for spell book swap. This would be a huge boon to all the lunar mages, sorry to the ancients but I think there doing pretty good as is, and normal magic really dosen't need anything like this. Besides, lunar already has teh spell book swap so this fits right in. Rather than reqire an att level to weild, it would reqire a magic level (of 60), but you would need a magic level of say 90 to use the elemental casting feature (because I think the swap spell is in the 80's, but if its in the 70's than only 80 to use elemental casting). llamster
If I were Jagex, I wouldn't release any slayer monsters with rare or valuable drops. Making a good chunk of a monster's profit come from one or two rare items is just asking for the moneymaking potential to crash over time. Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:
cocacolabottle
It would be nice, but I just hope that if they do it they don't make you do some lame quest before you get access to it.. 99 Slayer since August 2007.

wackoredhead
I think it would be more 88 slayer. From an earlier post, I think a boss slayer moster would be kinda cool and fun. Unfortunatly I would have to trim cape it if was 92-95 but it could possibly drop all the previous slayer monster drops? Or even a new set, haha abyssal plate, d-hide or robe top with legs, helm, gloves, boots ETC. New Siggy in progress.
