  • Too complicated? Borderlands 2 is the greatest game that was ever made :| It's definitely worth investing any time needed to learn the game. It's so fun.

  • This runescape game I keep hearing about seems like something I might check out one day

Don't get MW2 for PC IMO.

It depends on whether or not they're going to play casually, and pubstar or take a more competitive turn to it. Casually it's a fine game, but to everyone else it's bad. If they're just going to jump on for less than ten hours in a week, then it's fine to get the game in my opinion, as you'll be able to enjoy it fully, without much hindrance.

I was going to possibly play it casually but they've kind of ruined the sense of community.

I'm looking into buying an RPG game for my laptop while here at University. It needs to be fairly basic as my laptop isn't the most powerful machine, and also needs to be fairly cheap, preferably under £20.

But it still needs to be a good game of course.

I am considering buying the Baldurs gate 4 in 1 box set. I own the sequel, but I want to play through the first game before really getting into it. However, it seems as if the original if brought alone would not work on Vista which my laptop runs, as it is such an old game, forcing me to buy the 4 in one, and ending up with two copies of the sequel.

Or are there any other good RPG's out there which have low requirements, and would still last a fair amount of time?

Down the road of RPGs, you could try a new game called Torchlight, I believe there is a thread on it.

Diablo

Diablo II

Fable might work?

There are a load of old RPGs out there, search hard because it will be worth it.

Neverwinter Nights?

There's a new RPG out recently called Dragonage: Origins, I think, it's really popular at steam at the moment, though I know nothing about it.

'Tis I, 'tis Vindice, 'tis I!

The specs for it will be far too high for his computer, I suspect.

Yeah, modern games would be too much for this laptop. I'm not really sure what it could run effectively, but the benchmark i would give is that it runs rollercoaster tycoon 2 perfectly, but struggles with RS SD on minimum options.

I've been looking at 'Gothic', not sure if it will be any good though.

Get Diablo. I think I already said....

Get it.... you know you want too...

Yeah, Diablo is always a good choice. Nox is similar and fun as well, but not as deep as Diablo.

'Tis I, 'tis Vindice, 'tis I!

I found it really hard to grip Diablo 2 for some reason (level 17 Necro right at the start of Act 2). Maybe it's kind of a grind...

I wouldn't say it is a grind...

inFamous is a pretty solid game. PS3-only though.

I can't decide which is better, Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero 5... Anyone have any suggestions?

Rock Band 2. Better songs IMO and I prefer the peripherals. Maybe I'm being pedantic, but the rock band guitar feels nicer.

Rock Band 2 all the way.

Is there a game would like to be browser that can just consume time and have a little bit of fun or maybe some place where there is a list.

Fun tower defense game.

Earth Eternal could be good too.

Many believe that the 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens was a catostrophic geological event, in reality it was the day that Jimi Hendrix returned to Earth from the next world and actually stood up next to a mountain and chopped it down with the edge of his hand.

For Christmas im going to get COD, but im not sure which one i should get. Apparently the new one has very bad online but i dont know about the others. I want it to have a solid single player which is fun. But i am most concerned with the online: I dont want to have to pay for online, i want it to have good servers, alot of maps, weapons should be good and i want the servers to be populated not empty and varied amount of players in each game. Please read before you post and dont say stuff like get a ps3.

Your thoughts

I played Earth Eternal It was fun but is there game like it that is also ftp but a little bit more established, also the controls for attacking where a little bit hard to get used to but that type of game is okay.

Just curious as to what game I should get.

Here are my system stats.
