Water could have gotten into the iPod. But who knows...

Honestly, they're basically waterproof with the exception of the data port, and if you run with it facing down, it's almost impossible for water to get inside. I still run with my iPod in a ziploc when it pours, though.

Pffft, running with iPods :P

I just find interesting trails to run, and the only time I'd run with an iPod is on a treadmill (Oh, how I hate treadmills). Then again, I also have winding side streets, a decently sized forest and a lake at my disposal... I love my neighbourhood.

It's also inconvenient to have an iPod when you're trying to run sprints at the end of your run.

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.

I don't run with headphones; I just use my iPod with Nike+ to record mileage and speed. :^_^: Just having a nano in your pocket doesn't really get in the way of anything.

Running with music has never appealed to me; running is already fun, it stops you from talking to people and can even be dangerous (if you don't see a car and can't hear them), and completely messes up my pacing.

hey guys! glad to see everyone is running well. im impressed at those times in the 16's..

we only have 2 meets left. looks like we're settled for 4th in the district which is bad for us. i cannot break 19 no matter how hard i try and i'm just coming off a 5 day break due to sickness so ill be lucky to go under 20 tomorrow. good news is that i'm the #2 sophomore on our team now which is very respectable. i'm hoping with some hard running and very hard lifting/working out this winter i'll come out as the top guy for the 800 and i know theres only 1 or 2 other kids who will be a challenge in the 400.

and yes george in the next day or so i'll add a link to that group.

Coach is running me at regionals B)

Our #6 and 7 guys are resting and our 8 (me) and 9 guys are taking their place for regionals. Our regionals are a joke; we could run our fresh/soph team and advance. Sectionals are going to be a lot, lot harder.

I have 3 meets left...And I thought my season was short...

Also, I'm not sure if this will happen, but our coach is thinking about us heading to Chicago Next year to run at his College course for a 5k or something...Then again, It might be just a dream for him. (I talked to him about it, the only thing holding us back was plane tickets). It would be cool to do that...Then again, it would be a weekend trip :|

Does having a strong upper body make you run faster? And by a noticeable difference?

Because I have cut calves and a nice firm [wagon], but my arms/shoulders/biceps are small and lanky. I have long arms because I am 6'2, and I'd like to get them bigger but I don't have weights at home or have a gym I would go to so it's just false hope but...

Ran an 18:44, new PR...My old PR was 19:16, just around 32 seconds or so shaved off.

One of our other runners ran 17:49...I'm aiming for 17:30 or so..

Regionals are on Saturday; I'm hoping to run a 16:20. My first varsity race, and I'm pretty excited.

You can run a 16:20 and you weren't even on varsity? You must have a pretty damn good team

We came in 4th at our conference and are ranked 8th in our sectional. Maybe we just live in the fastest part of the state? :P

you probably do, the best runner on our team has a 16:50 PR. If you went to my school you would be the best runner.

Arm strength does factor in, especially on hills. The more you swing your arms, the better you will run.
