Yup. I know too many people who's life goal is to be remembered for something, or to go in the history books. Sorry guys, not gonna happen. If you end up helping mankind foarevar and evar, that's just super, but don't plan on it. Best plan of action is to realize how temporary our existence really is, and to cherish the ease in which us humans can attain fulfillment. And to help sad people too. They need it. :)

I was gonna say something like that, but I didn't want to get anal about it.

from your experience? and as a high school student that's not very extensive is it.

Your experiences aren't hardwired to age. A 15-year-old could have had more life changing experiences and lessons learned than a 60-year-old. Honestly, the whole age correlation is one of the poorest things I've heard of.

Meh, I don't really plan on going down in every history book ever or having my books read by every high school English class. I just want to discover something and be able to say that I was the first to see or do something.

I suppose I'm on the other side of the classroom now.. I'm the teacher now. I must be old. :(

Honestly, academically, high school was a joke. Loved every minute of it though. Just some advice; once you're out of high school, no one cares what or how you did in high school.

I'm going to be honest in saying that the high school I went to for two years made me want to be done with it as quickly as remotely possible. All because of a medical condition that was rather visible, I was ridiculed badly mostly. All of that made me so absurdly bitter that I got to the point of wishing nothing less than death on those that were disgusted by me. High school was pure concentrated hell to me, I'm honestly glad that's over with. Worst experience of my life. I became convinced of one thing: those that are truly terrible cannot be absolved of it in most cases. Douchebaggery is just terrible.

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

That's what I've been told by everyone who is past their first year of college. And a lot of my friends that are just in that first year. Now I find it so ridiculous when people make big deals about things at my school.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

your first year in college is pretty much the only time you can get away with using your high school achievements after that there should be nothing related to high school on your resume. a career advisor at my school told me she sees seniors in college still using their SAT scores XD

In one of my classes for high school we had to make resumes.

The teacher told kids they can use stuff from middle school.

That makes it more fun. Besides, if your roommate seems to be a guy that's exactly like you, it'll get old quick. Or he'll be some sort of murdering rapist.

You're better off with a foreign guy, though. It's like taking in a little brother. Or, in the case of my friend Devi, a little brother that does world-class karate, modeling, dancing, and money-having.

I got my A level grades this morning, they were ACDC  (with the A being in English), so I wasn't sure if that would be good enough, but I used clearing on UCAS (I'd canceled my previous offers a while ago so I was already in clearing) and straight away was offered a place at Wolverhampton University. I didn't expect clearing to work that quickly, I was thinking I'd be phoning unis all day

Got my schedule for my senior year, it's probably way to easy. I might fix it, I might not. Depends on if I give a [bleep] or not lol.

I'm also in the process of applying to colleges, sort of. I'm not going to do it until I've actually taken my SAT for the second time, but I'm hopefully going to get as much done as I can before that. I need to look at a few more colleges though. Right now all the ones I have are on common app which is really nice.

Personally I was looking at a couple, but I have a list that various family members have recommended for me.

Drexel University

Fairfield University

Ithaca College

Keene State College

Plymouth State University

Quinnipiac University

Saint Michael's College

UMBC - University of Maryland, Baltimore County

University of Connecticut

University of Massachusetts Amherst

University of New Hampshire

University of Rhode Island

University of Vermont

My cousin and aunt recommended most of those to me, but I was already looking at all the University of... ones. 90% of my family went to/is going to UConn and my dad's house is like 3 miles off campus, but that's still pretty much my first choice. After that it's probably UNH or UVM.

Wow. That's a lot. All I'm looking at are UT Austin (first), Columbia University and New York University.

Then again, all I'm looking at are places either in-state with good financial aid or major schools with amazing financial aid. I'll just get some scholarships though, it's whatevs. Not scared at all with admission, seeing as I already have near-perfect SATs and I'm kind of an amazing essay writer. And the 4.00 GPA and being in the top 6 or 7% of my class (as long as I stay in the top 8% I'm guaranteed to UT, but I'm planning on going into a rigorous honors program that replaces my core classes - it will be fun).

Things have a way of falling into place for me though. Big things, at least.

Yeah, I'm not exactly a good student grades wise or in class ranking, but I'm top 10-15% or so in terms of SAT's from my first attempt (which was pretty half-assed to be honest).

I'm really only interested in Uconn, UVM and UNH right now though, so that list is deceivingly long.
