indy500fan
le samourai - it was okay. brazil - good. I loved Le Samouraï but it's not for everyone, it's a little slow. [url\http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0043456/]The Day the Earth Stood Still[/url] - I watched this and a few other movies last night, and while this is the second time watching it and all the others were first time I still enjoyed this one the most. It will be interesting to see what the remake is going to be about since this one was mostly about proclaiming peace during the start of the cold war business. How2PK
Last movie I saw was yesterday. Changeling The last Clint Eastwood movie. I don't know, his movies are always 'decent' or 'well made', but they never do anything for me (excluding one or two). This one also doesn't do anything for me. It's a shame. And Angelina Jolie goes over the top a lot if you ask me, I can't bear her screaming (but then in a negative way), she also did that in A Mighty Heart, it's just brr. So, it's well made, and not really boring, but it's a bit empty if you ask me. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! redhaloguy
Ok to go through my list. Leon, The Professional Great movie. I liked the little romance he had with the kid even though it wasn't sexual. Oldboy Great movie. Right after I saw it I had to show it to my parents, and they wanted to see more. The Big Lebowski Awesome Coen brother film, I've loved all of there work this shows I still do. The Perfect Crime I didn't enjoy this film too much I was expecting more from it though. the Boondock saints Need I say more? Pans labyrinth Really strange but I still enjoyed the movie. Twist ending unexpected. If you do things right people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

How2PK
Loft It was 'alright'. I don't really understand why so many Belgian movies have such a clinical visual style, I don't really like it. Especially since it seems so useless in this movie; it works against the movie. The many twists that this movie has doesn't help either, nor do the subplots that aren't worked on to be quickly tied together at the end of the movie. Then there is the humor, which is funny for small time, but the fact that they are constantly repeating the same jokes doesn't make it last. Luckily there are some good actors in the movie, they kind of save it. Filip Peeters is brilliant, and I always like to see Matthias Schoenaerts, it's too bad that he's too much over the top in this role though. It's a sort of Scarface imitation, but he's no Al Pacino of course. Anyway. I sound really negative about the movie now. But still I enjoyed it, the problem is that I can't say why. How2PK
Hancock Pff. I expected this to be a funny Will Smith movie about a superhero who's at a lowpoint of his life and who has to come back to the top. This movie ended after 45 minutes. And what came after that failed on every level. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! Thanks to Serenity being made, there's no chance for the series to come back :( Did you know Joss contemplated adding dinosaurs into this show? That would have multiplied the awesomeness even more. Anyways, I watched Across the Universe. Mind-blowingly good. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

Thanks to Serenity being made, there's no chance for the series to come back :( Did you know Joss contemplated adding dinosaurs into this show? That would have multiplied the awesomeness even more. That's the main reason why Serenity never made it very high on my list of favourite movies. I love it, but there were just too many bad feelings about it. It signified that the series was over, it hardly mentioned the Blue Sun Corp as being the bad guys, it showed a badass River which was awesome, but would have been cooler if it happened at the pace the series was going. This was probably the first time watching that I didn't let any of that get to me and just enjoyed it, and I enjoyed the [bleep] out of it. Done the Impossible: The Fans' Tale of 'Firefly' and 'Serenity' - I was introduced to the 'verse with the DVD of Serenity, so most of the stuff discussed in this documentary was before my time. I still get the feelings they all have though. While a Big Damn Trilogy is pretty much out of the question now, I still have hope for something. The comics are ok but just not as good as the show or movie.

pfilc23
I've been catching up on TV shows recently through netflix, etc. I don't have any of the premium channels and prefer to not watch many shows in a week-to-week format (I'd rather wait to watch all at once or at least a season at a time). Here's what I've seen recently: Dexter (seasons 1&2) - Such a beautiful show...the intro alone is extermely effective Californication (season 1) - This really grew on me each episode...absolutely hilarious at times Jericho (all) - I have no idea why I didn't watch this when it was on. Loved it, though the ending was extremely weak (they obviously rushed to tie it up in the few number of episodes they had available) Others I've started or plan to: X-Files - I just started in on re-watching it and hope to watch it in entirety. Weeds - I've seen through all the seasons up to current. Lost - I started it a while ago, but decided to wait until the series is done to restart it. 24 - I watched 1st season and I think 2nd, but not past that. Dead Like Me - I started it, but for some reason got away from it and hope to get back to it. Any suggestions for other good series? I noticed Indy's post about Firefly and it looks interesting...all reviews I've seen are glowing. I must say I kind of prefer the un-censored series on premium channels, but I'm not opposed to network shows. edit: guess I should add I'm not a fan of crime-dramas or medical shows...which pretty much eliminates 90% of networks shows lol
indy500fan
the blu-ray version of Firefly contains extra episodes of the series, Indy. Have you seen those? The Blu-ray version contains a cast reunion extra as well as a commentary for one of the episodes that the DVD didn't have. The extra episodes that are advertised are the three that were never shown on air, but they are on the DVD version. This is what I glean from amazon reviews at least. As soon as I read your post I almost had a heart attack thinking I missed some episodes :) . @pfilc23: I haven't heard of many people who have watched Firefly and haven't liked it. There are a good amount of Sci-Fi and Western elements to it, as well as some comedy. The short run of only 14 episodes also means that if you don't like it then you didn't waste much time. I was hooked after the first 4 or 5 minutes of the first episode. But if you don't want to do that, then I could suggest Rome. It's uncensored and on a premium channel, can't remember which one. I am also not a fan of crime-dramas or medical shows, but I did enjoy Veronica Mars a lot. It's a crime show kind of, I've never watched a CSI or anything like that though so I don't know how similar it is. You've already mentioned some of my other favourites: Lost (probably should wait until the end if you don't mind waiting 3 years), Weeds should be coming back at some point, Dead Like Me I think is over but the movie is coming out sometime (supposed to be over the last summer). The only other real favourite I can think of is Battlestar Galactica, can't remember if you've mentioned seeing that before or not. However if you like watching things all in a row it might be better to wait ~4-5 months when the show finishes.
