October 10, 200916 yr one of the best updates in a while and they screw it up in less than a week way to go jagex. I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come
October 10, 200916 yr This is just stupid. I finally see a reason to have 72 herblore (just so that I'm closer to the potions than half of RS), and Jagex kicks it upside the head. Seriously, something BESIDES str/range pures would've finally stood a chance in PvP. But NO, Jagex couldn't stand to anger the 2% "WE PAY TO PK" minority. <_< Now all it's useful for is bosshunting, which I'm incapable of doing anyways because my levels are too low. GF. And taking it out of minigames? WTH? It's not like having a Cwars brace gives you an advantage there, it's not like the time (and money if you wanted it fast) you took to get high attack/strength/defence matters there, either! Tl;dr: Way to screw over the patient, well-rounded people, Jagex.
October 10, 200916 yr Personally, I'd like to see PvP elevated to a higher level than simply: 1. Pot up.2. Unleash high powered specs for KO.3. Collect drop. What Jagex really should be doing is to look into a way to update the combat system so that players aren't depending on high powered weapons to kill others in 1 or 2 hits. It really doesn't take much skill to click twice on the spec bar while using dragon claws or AGS. These new potions are only driving combat further down the road. Likewise, the extreme ranging potion makes it more possible to 1 hit someone with dark bow spec and void. Combat should take more thought. Not just a few clicks.
October 10, 200916 yr ^ And they could have followed up herblore potions with new untradeable high level armor that actually reduced the amount of damage you took. But those probably wouldn't be allowed in PVP anyway because all of the 1 def pures would complain about not being able to 1hit spec people. October 10, 200916 yr yes this nerf really is abit fail... whilst herblore is (and has been) my lowest skill for a longg time, i was still mildly excited about this update :D I was looking forward to making the money + getting the herblore levels, for that slight advantage in pvp. The idea of non combat skills affecting pvp in a big way is a GREAT IDEA. Finally we might lose some of those pkers with 900 total, who think they are the kings of runescape. Skills are a MASSIVE part of runescape, like what, 2/3 of the stats you can train on runescape are skills? Skills should also come into PvP for sure. Maybe some high level untradable smithing armours, untradeable high leveled fish.. maybe even runes which make your magic hit more.. all some possible ideas for pvp :D Anyway whatever, guess i wont be forking out the cash on herb anymore, does make it easier i spose. but still, pvp shouldnt be for the lazy.
October 10, 200916 yr I'm normally nice and supportive with updates.. but seriously? BESIDES that I agree with the people saying that this fix is BS... Am I the only one who is a bit annoyed, that they STILL constantly release updates regularly, and STILL have to go back and change something within 1 day? They basically give you an update to play with for a day, then a day later, by either player complaints (Aww, I need to level herblore now?), or "sudden realization they messed up", they mess with it. I mean seriously, just save a day of re-writing a patch to fix the mistake, and realize how almost every other update goes, and guess from there. People don't like 1- Hard work, and 2- Having to work to be good with PvP. the trick is to balance all of these methods to get 99 and either play real life or train another skill while farming. 635th to 99 Farming 12/16/07
October 10, 200916 yr Welcomed fix in my opinion. I don't play, but I can see how it made PvP cater towards those that invested more time. ^worst post of the day^ Yeah, phooey to those players who spent time on their characters. Where do I sign up for a perfect pk pure that I don't have to invest time in?
October 10, 200916 yr I find this ridiculous. If Herblore isn't for pvp, take out all supers. Take out prayer potions. Take out every single pot. Meh. A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.

I agree with this to a certain extent. Combat should be about more than just a few clicks. But the problem is that Runescape has such a limited range of weapon and armor sets that the battles are essentially decided before it even begins.
October 10, 200916 yr Should we make all quest items unusable in PvP as well? "Oh Quests aren't a combat skill so you shouldn't be able to use barrows gloves" -.- ~It's Super Effective! (The Zaaps Blog)~My YouTube Channel, where you get to watch me go around and make a fool out of myself and all comp capersGuides:~Yeah I wrote them once~Suggestions:~Yeah I made those once~
October 10, 200916 yr Lol, I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry. What number are we on now for PvP "fixes"? I mean this is like saying that since that guy bought a higher prayer level he is immoral and a cheater and should be banned and prayer should be removed from all forms of combat and deleted from the game. I mean...I don't even know what to say, there are like a million reasons why I think this is one of the worst ideas since pigeon guided missiles. (And for the record, they exist, look it up!)
October 10, 200916 yr PvP I could understand, the Castle wars/Soul Wars probably wasn't needed though. I mean sure it would render the other team ONE HUNDRED PERCENT screwed over, but you can only take so many potions in to begin with along with band aids in Soul Wars/Castle Wars taking up inventory space. On another note, It only made Herblore MORE costly to rise, considering Herblore barely profits anymore. Popoto.~<3
October 10, 200916 yr Though I don't really play anymore and have lost membership I am pretty upset by this update. Not to start any sort of political rant here, but it kind of reminds me of a socialist country's decision with this update. We have the people who have worked hard to achieve success to only have it denied in the most practical situation to make the game fair for everyone else. I think this was probably one of the updates they should have just left alone.

I mean sure it would render the other team ONE HUNDRED PERCENT screwed over, but you can only take so many potions in to begin with along with band aids in Soul Wars/Castle Wars taking up inventory space.Because there are no such things as SW clan chats that stack teams already. People want to be on the winning team, so there will always be on side that gets, as you put it, "screwed over." Personally, I'd like to see PvP elevated to a higher level than simply: 1. Pot up.2. Unleash high powered specs for KO.3. Collect drop. I agree with this to a certain extent. Combat should be about more than just a few clicks. But the problem is that Runescape has such a limited range of weapon and armor sets that the battles are essentially decided before it even begins.I don't like the idea of introducing untradeable armor which reduces damage to counterbalance the high level weapons already out there. All this would do is further a continued arms race where each weapon begets even more powerful armor, and vice versa. It's not that Runescape doesn't have a wide selection of weapons and armors already, but that most of them have little or no use in a serious combat situation. There's no depth in RS combat, and I think that this is one of the weakest aspects of an otherwise great game. There needs to be more factors in melee than just "strength" bonuses, "attack" bonuses, and "defense" bonuses. Likewise, the other 2 corners of the so-called combat triangle could use a similar overhaul. Let Jagex update the functionality of the underused items in range (javelins, darts, handcannon, longbows) and mage (lots of rarely used staffs and robes).
October 10, 200916 yr I lol'd tonnes at that RSOF thread. Silly jagex always favoring the pkers. I lol'd tonnes at your post. If it was sarcastic in some way, I can't tell. Jagex ALWAYS favoring the pkers? Since when did Jagex always favor pkers? But still, I believe this update wasn't really needed. How many people actually have 89 herblore? And how many of them are hardcore pkers? Oh well.
October 10, 200916 yr Should we make all quest items unusable in PvP as well? "Oh Quests aren't a combat skill so you shouldn't be able to use barrows gloves" -.- sad thing is, most pkers would love that -.-
October 10, 200916 yr something needs to be done to hp period, divine was a good first step, now lets keep going jagex, i was truely surprised they didnt make a healing potion to make up for the new dmg, like a brew that takes 95 adn rather than 15% hp + 2, does 20% hp + 2 so a max of 21 per dose at 99 hp, worth it if its not allowed in pvp and takes 95 herb
October 10, 200916 yr I'm of the opinion that HP replenishment should really stick to food rather than potions, but seeing that recently they added those stone foods with the enhancers, I guess I can't really complain too much about cross-purposes. If they aren't adding the potion you're suggesting to PvP, many people will make use of summons or something else, though. PvM is all about cutting costs.
October 10, 200916 yr Man, I don't even [bleep]ing play this game anymore, and it's painfully obvious what needs to be done. 1) Create a +25% damage, tradeable, level 70ish magic potion to bridge the gap between the average pker and the 94 herblore pker.2) Create a minioverload by combining a regular superset at 76ish herblore, to save inventory for non-skilling pkers.3) Create a superranged potion that fills the gap between regular range and extreme range.4) Re-enable extreme potions in at the least minigames, possibly PVP. The biggest difference between extreme and super wasn't extra damage from the melee potions (or even the ranged potion, though it was a bit bigger), it was the extra magic damage and the saved inventory/sara brew drain immunity from the overload. Bridge that gap with midlevel potions that allow regular pkers to stand a chance and the crying will die down eventually.
October 10, 200916 yr I would rather have had them just make the pots tradeable. At least herbablist wouldn't have been completely screwed by this. Removing them from minigames is just silly. The fact that this wasn't thought of before the release is really inexcusable.
October 10, 200916 yr Once again, the lazy players win.Could not agree more. To win you actually have to put some effort into training, so what if somebody else has the herb levels, they put the effort in to do it. It's much like the difference between somebody have a whip and an AGS in pvp,I agree fully. Couldn't agree more....Its unfair to the High levelers jagex proves again that this game is not gonna have high-level content for a pretty long time <_< Barrows Drops:....................................................Dragon Drops:...............Other Drops: Dharok: 2 Helms, 1 Top, 2 Legs, 4 Axes.......................2 Claws Split..................1 Bandos Tassets Karil: 1 Coif, 1 Top, 2 Skirt, 2 Crossbows......................3 Plate legs...................4 Berserker RingsAhrim: 3 Hood, 2 Top, 3 Skirt, 1 Staff..........................2 Plate Skirts.................2 Warrior RingsVerac: 1 Helm, 3 Tops, 2 Skirts, 1 Flail..........................1 Med........................1 Archer RingGuthan: 2 Helm, 5 Tops, 1 Skirt, 0 Spear.....................1 Shield Half.................1 Seers RingTorag: 2 Helms, 2 Tops, 5 Legs, 1 Hammer....................4 Hatchets..................1 Missed Divine Sigil (was at bank -,- fml)
