stonewall337
Are mods still being elected by the other mods? If it is still so, that is were the problem with some of the other mods promotions has been. Mods promoting their toadies. However, Racheya will be a good mod. Gratz!Someone will not become a moderator or be promoted simply if one moderator or admin suggests it. There has to be a consensus. Exactly my point. Too often the mods appoint their friends, kinda like congress voting themselves pay raises. I know these three, looking back, and I am fairly certain they will be good mods though. Gratz again! You seem to misunderstand our staffing process. Our mod apps were sorted by a team of our admins and supermods - we selected who we thought were the best canidates and presented that list to our moderator team who provided feedback to the group we had - then using that feedback the admin team made the final calls on applicants. Promotions are not decided by the mods or staff but decided by the admin team as a whole. If a mod nominated thier friend when we are not recruiting - there has to be a need usually for the moderator - then it has to be agreeded upon by the staff - then the administrators may decide to wait on them or bring them on. Hope that clears things up for all. Ya, basically exactly what I stated. No user input, and if you aren't a friend of a mod you don't get in. Those who have upset mods are screwed, even if the mods are in the wrong. [hide=Drops]Araxxor Eye x1 Leg pieces x2GWD: 5000 Addy bar Steam B Staff x3 Z Spear x6 Sara. Normally you just need to be noticed by any staff member, nominated, and then if the staff as a whole agrees, the member may be invited to the staff. This also means that if the nominated member has made one enemy amongst the staff, he or she may still be accepted because we discuss things as a team. It completely depends on each person's unique history here. A decent percentage of our current staff has had altercations with older staff at some point, but when deciding on new waves of staff that never is a defining factor. Again guys, congrats and keep up the great work you've been doing!

You all vote, regardless if one person might not get along, its in the benefit for Tip.It in the end. I can say now, If a friend of mine applied for something, lets say Crewbie and I was a crewbie, He was lazy etc. I wouldn't vote him because he just simply doesn't meet the area of what they might be after. Laura
No user inputRight. So we should turn it into a popularity contest? There is a method to their madness, which isn't "madness" in the least.
Racheya
I used to be on the other side of the fence on another site, I would watch jealously as friend after friend of moderators would become moderators and if you didn't have like 10,000 posts you had no chance. I had 14,000 and had been a member for 4 years and they would never make me a moderator because it was all popularity, popularity, popularity. A lot of the mods were teenage girls, I'm just saying  But here it is so different, I didn't know any moderators properly when I became a moderator, they honestly do go off merit and what they think is best for Tip.It. The reason you might look at mod's friends lists and go 'All these guys are friends with other mods and admins  ' is because we become friends after we become mods :P It's only the Super Mods and Administrators that decide afiak, and these guys are seriously all very sensible and good people. There aren't any 'friendship promotions' believe me. Thanks for the congrats everyone :) I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I rarely write in [My Blog]. I am an [Ex-Moderator]. Look at Racheya, she's not popular *flees*. If just one moderator likes them, or even just one administrator, they still have to be voted on by staff, so if one person tries adding them because they are a friend but the rest disagree, they obviously won't become a moderator/staff member. I know when going through the applications I didn't know many of the posters personally, but still gave my honest and fair opinion. All I can suggest if you are interested in becoming a moderator is reading this. It never makes a guarentee of the role though. And can we now get back on topic with congratulating these 3 fine people on becoming global moderators. :D ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)RIP Michaelangelopolous

I have noticed that several people who would make excellent mods, due to their ability to discern the spirit, and not only the letter of the law. However, they don't get along with the letter of law mods, and so...you get the picture. When posts are randomly deleted, with no explanation, even though the post(s) was a simple question/answer, one doesn't wonder. One knows. Just look at compfreak, and his run in with (certain) mods, who abused their powers. [hide=Drops]Araxxor Eye x1 Leg pieces x2GWD: 5000 Addy bar Steam B Staff x3 Z Spear x6 Sara.
