October 20, 200916 yr Are the elite tasks assistable? The smithing one is the only one i cant do,I highly, highly doubt it. None of the diaries are and it would quite destroy the purpose. When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done. All skills 80+
October 20, 200916 yr I for one am VERY happy about the elite diary. Even though I'm going to have to train my Fishing, Thieving, and Smithing to do it, it finally gives me a substantial reason to train those 3 skills. And it's something that I can't do right off the bat, even as a level 138. And the 93 Summoning requirement is just incredible. 4x Phat owner: Blue, Green, 2x Purple 3100+ GWD bosses soloed.Solo GWD Drops:5 Bandos Plates, 4 Bandos Boots, 3 Bandos Hilts, 2 Arma Helms, Arma Skirt, Arma Plate, 3 Arma Hilts, 4 Zammy Spears, Steam Staff, 15 Sara Swords, 6 Sara Hilts, 29 Shards.
October 20, 200916 yr I dont have time to comment on this update properly but incase jagex are reading I must say something quickly about this. Amazing update. Superb! All those little updates are fantastic and a decent high level requirement again for achievement! Wow. I got all those requirements but wont have time until a few days to actually do them =( Darn essays, revising for exams, visiting parents, begging for money on streets, etc etc.) But wow thats something to look forward too. fml...the hard diary is not even close to being "hard" compared to other hard diaries, and then the elite diary jumps to just absurdly high requirements. Just the summmoning alone, only 6002 players out of all of us have this req. The jump in levels is ridiculous for us casual players who're not on 24/7. Obviously jagex has forgotten about all of us and catered to those who're on 10 hours a day and complain the loudest about not high enough requirements. Most of us just want to complete the diaries will probably NEVER get all those levels. Why is jagex releasing content for such a small minority of players? This is such a slap in the face for the majority of us HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *Breaths* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *Breaths* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA You made me laugh. October 20, 200916 yr Is the ablilty to change your watchtower teleport a reward from the hard or the elite dairy?
October 20, 200916 yr [hide]People complain when there is no high level content. Then they complain when they do. Interesting  To clear my stance up, I've never complained about the lack of high level content. In fact, I rarely complain about anythng jagex throws at us. I dislike the fact of rs turning into a get 99 everything race, but I bear with it. I'm okay when requirements are within reach, even it will take me weeks to get it. But 93 summoning? 91 smithing? These are levels that even a high level like me who've put hundreds of hours into the game and say, W T F. If you want a goal, there're always 99s for you to go for. But a diary completion really should be within the reach of us normal players instead of catered to <1% of the rs population. 6002 players with 93 summon/1m (say just 1 million total rs players)= 0.6%. There's a reason it's called 'elite'.Obviously I'm preaching to the wrong crowd here. If you're posting here in the middle of a Tuesday, you're NOT the typical rs player. Don't think I'm a lvl 100 here with an 1700 total. I've played rs since feb 2002 and rank 40,000 on the highscores. Just within the hiscores 40k/2m I rank within the top 2% of rs players. But no, that's apparently nowhere near elite according to jagex. the 0.6% I gave earlier is a very conservative estimate, I would say that <0.5% of rs will get access to this piece of content. Jagex should not expect even all elite players to achieve those elvels. For most of the "Good we finally have "elite" requirements for things" crowd running around with 99's it's like releasing some content where you need 45 million xp for one task, and 60 million for another... Look at quest requirements... 75 is the highest skill requirements needed for any of them. Level 75 needs 1,210,421 xp, that's 10% of the way to 99 as far as XP is concerned. That already takes a fair amount of time to get to for any normal player who isn't trying to powerlevel their way up. 91 is 4.5 times the amount of xp, and 93 is 6 times the amount of xp! Summoning at least has some worthwhile things upto 93... but even then only 6,756 as of this post have 93 summoning. Smithing is even worse, Aside from the 99 cape there is really any reason to go that high. The top 5,570 are 99. All of 10,713 people have 90 or higher. That says volumes about the state of smithing... Unless you're going for the cape it's just not worth training that high. Smithing IS getting a revamp which is good, but should people have to train an otherwise useless skill up that high for a single step of something? The Dragon platebody and DFS aren't exactly justifying reasons either since a couple people could probably keep up with the demand for those services...[/hide] Stop complaining that the minority finally got a decent update. Most of the updates for the past years have been catered to the majority, the average player. Just because the average player who takes no time to level his skills doesn't have the level for it doesn't mean the people who do shouldn't get new content. If you want a game where it takes no time or work to get everything in the game go play some Xbox with a big book of cheats. ======================== Is the ablilty to change your watchtower teleport a reward from the hard or the elite dairy? Hard. As far as I know it teles you inside the walls, so not much of a difference in terms of distance probably.
October 20, 200916 yr As others have said, no update can really make everyone happy. I agree with the previous poster about focusing on the content within reach, and not worrying about the content that is a long way from within reach. I thought this update was great in that it struck a balance between providing a diary that was within reach of mid level players, while giving a nod to higher level players, and providing an elite reward that was good, but didn't totally overshadow the previous rewards.

October 20, 200916 yr Wow, high level content. Great Jagex, I love it. Really. But 93 Summoning? 90 (or what is it) Smithing? You got to be kidding me. The entire diary can be done with only a couple of skill requirements above 60. And the highest requirement is 71 Magic. Then they skip all the levels between 70 and 90 and work from there. How about some 80 reqs? It's a bad move but oh well it gives me something to work for. Not that I will ever get 93 Summoning. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.
October 20, 200916 yr =D> Bravo Jagex, bravo! I've always wanted something like this. Something that gives me a goal to aim for, long term. Now let's hope they do this with Quests. Yes... Yes, that's what he said. :D
October 20, 200916 yr Some people here seem to be forgetting something; completing this achievement diary is NOT mandatory. The same principle holds for all other high-level content as well, by the way. Yes, it's true - only a handful of players (relatively) can complete the diary at this point. However, that number will continue to increase day after day, as this update has offered an incentive to train the relevant skills, and, whatever your view, incentives ARE important. Just because the diary isn't available to everyone doesn't mean that Jagex is snubbing the majority of the playerbase; they are, in fact, servicing all of their players by keeping the bored "high-levels" interested in the game, while, at the same time, providing something for the "lower-levels" to strive for down the road. The "lower-levels" complaining about all such high-level content irritate me to no end (not to say that I'm a "high-level" myself), as their complaints are baseless. By far, most of the updates released over the last few years have only minimal level requirements, and, as a result, new players today are practically swamped by all of the available content. (I can't even imagine what it must be like for these new players when they upgrade to P2P; I'm sure it must be overwhelming.) However, when long-time, experienced players are finally thrown a bone or two (as they have been recently), it seems that everyone else is up in arms over it, even though they have far more gameplay they've yet to experience for themselves (not to mention that they'll be able to access the same updates in time, if they wish). I don't understand why a bit of "high-level" content causes so much controversy. Is it really THAT bad, or, as I suspect, do some players simply enjoy complaining about anything and everything? Anyway, it all comes down to this: *The update has been released and has been found to have progressively increasing level requirements.*The diary offers an interesting, but not earth-shatteringly important, series of rewards for those who can complete it.*Players can either choose to participate in or disregard the update, and neither choice will be penalized, as, again, completing the diary is NOT mandatory.*Those who choose to complete the diary will receive an appropriate reward, while those who do not will have to live without. It really is quite simple, after all. Interested in helping the Tip.It Crew? Check out our Website Updates & Corrections Board!
October 20, 200916 yr Sadly I can't touch the elite tasks, and this alone does not annoy me, I love having goals (although this is years off!) Although I do have a bone to pick with the elite tasks;Abyssal titans, giant pouches, and rune cross bows are nothing to do with the area, if they cannot bring elite combat from the area, it should not be in the diary! you can do these tasks pretty much anywhere. Catching a manta and the lock picking (the only ones I can actually do :P) are the only two tasks that are area specific, and are the only two that could be in the area diary.......... Back when the first diary came out, Mod Maz made a thread looking for ideas for future diary, and she had the idea of smelting a rune bar, as a task for lumbridge, but backed down after it was pointed out it has nothing to do with the area, it seems she has done the same here, but gone for it. To re state...... elite tasks are good, but they should be relevant!
October 20, 200916 yr In other news... Health bars will no longer become completely red unless the player/monster has zero hitpoints. After completing Within the Light, you can ask Eluned to help you add a choice of destination to your teleport crystals. Murky Matt at the Grand Exchange can now combine the charges on members' teleport jewellery. I love you Jagex Owner of the Quest Point Cape

October 20, 200916 yr Noooooo why did they have to throw in that 91 smithign req...all of the other skills are at least useful around thos elevels, but now I'll end up trainign smithign jsut for this...actually on second though, 200k xp and a teleport to a path that I never use are not very useful for me... I really am disappointed in the elite level rewards hoenstly, am I the only one who is? I also suppose this update slaps my dreams of an achievement cape to trim the quest one in the face...
