03-Mar-10 Changes to HP Skill, Shattered Heart, RuneScape Lobby/Login Changes, Success at Smelting Iron

Toad

Actions that can yield a rock include those detailed below. It's a good idea to mix up your training; perhaps try out a new skill in which you've yet to dabble:

Agility: Training on the Tree Gnome Stronghold, Brimhaven, Pyramid, Werewolf and Dorgesh-Kaan courses.

Cooking: Cooking fish.

Construction: Visiting your house for at least a minute while not in build mode.

Crafting: Making gold jewellery; making items from leather or dragon hide.

Farming: Harvesting vegetables, hops, herbs or flowers.

Fletching: Making unstrung bows or crossbow stocks.

Fishing: Fishing with any net or cage.

Firemaking: Lighting a fire using any logs and a tinderbox.

Herblore: Combining unfinished potions with secondary ingredients, not including barbarian mixes.

Hunter: Checking box and deadfall traps; practising falconry.

Mining: Mining ore, coal, clay or stone.

Runecrafting: Binding runes.

Smithing: Smelting normal ores; smithing items from normal ores.

Thieving: Picking pockets.

Woodcutting: Cutting any wood or ivy; playing the Sawmill minigame.

Seems the Construction one is just basically standing around in your house, unless I've misread it. I kind of like the idea of only training a skill in a certain way gives access to these rocks. That why most items that people use to train the skills for the exp/levels won't skyrocket in price on the GE.

Personally I'm kind of excited to check out the new game lobby. It seems to have a lot of little "bells and whistles" to it. Hmm....

Someone please post a picture of the updated, constitution skillcape. I hope its not the same cape, with the same icon. :???:

It's an updated skill, not a new skill. Why would it need a new skillcape? And just so you know, JMod says it hasn't been changed.

tl:dr

We have multiplied every hp related stuff with 10 because noobs hate hitting zero's

Jagexx has some really bad logic, the amount of zero's people hit will be the same. <_<

The hp update doesn't make a HUGE difference.

You wont be able to hit anymore than normal. Only less than normal.

For example, you use to be able to hit 20 or 21, but now you can get 20.1, 20.2, 20.3, etc etc (times the number by 10).

No new max hit. Just hits inbetween the normal hits.

and prolly lower hits like 5 (0.5)

actually the # of 0's hit on accurate hits should be 10x less

it's possible to hit a 0 even if you did not miss. It's just hard to know when you miss or not, since a miss and a 0 hit look like the same

at lvl 1 strength, 50% of your accurate hits will be 0's.

now only 10% of your accurate hits hits will be 0's at lvl 1 strength

Pretty sure you won't be able to do that, it will just take the old hits and multiply them by 10, so you can only hit in intervals of 10, not 1.

How does this affect attack then, the purpose of attack was to make you hit less 0s. What is it's purpose now?

Yes, and Yes. I think attack will reduce the amount of lower numbers you will hit. Strength will only raise the cap. This may make attack much more important, which can only be a good thing.

Perhaps it'll effect how often you hit closer to your max hit? Or perhaps how often you hit higher numbers.

And of course, the possibility of new potions that can bring your health above 990, new armor that can give you better hit points, thus allowing new weapons that hit higher. This is just a needed stepping stone so that we CAN hit higher.

This update is pretty lame. If you compare the game now to back in 2004, almost everything has been revamped, and hitpoints were one of the last shreds of runescape in 2004 that we had left. The fact that Runescape only had a max of 99 hp, is what made the game unique to other mmo's because you'll find that hardly any other mmo has a max hp of under 100.

Unique does not mean better mate.

Never said better? I just liked how unique runescape was, all the mmo's followed each others footsteps, and it looks like Runescape has started to follow too.

I agree. This will appeal to those who like superficially hitting higher. Notice that the game is being more targetted to ADD little kids.

In the end it's just the same though. If monsters take the same time to kill etc.

It's a shame all that is unique about RS is just being revamped. Clearly there was something appealing about what they were doing before as it attracted so many players.

I think they should have foccused on word of mouth. The best guide to this game is still a experienced friend showing you the ropes. No NPC, or tutorials or hitting fewer 0's can replace that.

Plus it's still annoying if you hit a bunch of 1's instead of 0's.

Reread what the mod wrote on the blog. They made it like this for new players, as it was boring they could only hit 0's or 1's. Now they will be able to hit 1-10, as they will have 100hp to start with.

In other words; IT WONT BE IN INTERVALS OF 10. I'm willing to bet cash on it.

Actually you can do that.
