I've got the machine working, but it seems like I need a flattened bar to get into the control room. No idea how to get one so far.

This. I started the quest and saw it said "work out how to unlock the body door" so I gave up :P After exams maybe...

 

The whole quest is literaly like that.

 

"I found a big machine with a big red button..."

 

Ive pretty much had no clue what ive been doing during this quest.

Im in the machine room but the only thing I can do is pull a lever which closes the door, Ive activated the machine?

 

The flattened bar is made the same way as in Elemental Workshop 2

you need to make a primed bar again, like you did in ew2. But dw all the stuff is still set the correct way so it doesnt take long

Meh. Kind of a [bleep] move making it a limited number of moves. I guess I'll just wait for a guide like I did with MEPII. I already hate slider puzzles, but when you combine that with having to run to a bunch of levers and limited number of moves... yeah. Hoping it's the same layout for all players. Looking at the pics it appears that way.

 

To the reward: LOL. 17 mage defense, nice. Green dhide body has 20 mage defense. Armadyl top has like 70. Seems like these people who built all this machinery went to a LOT of trouble to make some pretty fail gear. I can see it now: on like EWVII we'll get a soul body with like 30 mage def or something :thumbup:

if you connect the secondary counter with a high drive mechanism it gets stuck. I assume that gives you infinite turns. mine is stuck on 62 but im not sure if its random or not.

So you can just connect the high drive mechanism and you have infinite turns? Do you need to connect the mid drive mech too for it to work?

So the only reward is a Body Body?

I did that, put the primed bar in the slot, the machine is on from the sliding puzzle, then why the [bleep] isn't this working!?!?

Well, I like the updates for the most part. I'm kind of disappointed that Jagex didn't expand the members friend list... Been cleaning it out weekly for the past few years just to attempt to make room for friends. Well, hopefully they'll consider it within the next year or two. :mellow:

nope. although I had before and my mid counter is on 19 once I connected the high one and ran out of main counter turns the mid one did not start counting down.

According to wiki after the middle thing is activated you have to connect the same thing that lowered it to raise it again

 

EDIT: tried this and it worked, after that you need a primed bar, then use it on the slot, close the door, push the button and youll have body bar.

[bleep] Jagex's slider puzzles. There must be a subsection of Jagex that is tasked with making [developmentally delayed]ed puzzles like this.

 

I know, let's make a giant puzzle that requires you to not only sit and wait for each individual slider to go by, but if you [bleep] up in the 50 turns, you're screwed and have to start over derp derp derp.

 

I'm really not surprised that the guys who did ME2 did this. You can tell by the fact that the quest relies on obscure things you did when the previous quest was released FOUR FREAKING YEARS AGO.
