World Cup 2010 - South Africa!

On the subject of punditry and the media, it's awful in the UK. I can't decide whether I hate Adrian Chiles or Mark Lawrenson more. At least with the likes of Adebayor and Redknapp in the studio you get a bit of banter, but it's so sad when the commentators try and make a joke out of every little thing.

God, i hate Adrian Chiles. Mick McCarthy as well. He makes the football sound about as exciting as a list of building materials.

Got sent this joke earlier:

So far in the last 16:

1. Uruguay vs South Korea

2. USA vs Ghana

3. Germany vs England

4. Argentina vs Mexico

Winner of Match 1 plays the Winner of Match 2.

Winner of Match 3 plays the Winner of Match 4.

Can't see England getting too far

What a game that was... I thought Italy might just pull it off right at the end.

indeed!

good fight France, Good fight Italy, Good fight Greece. I sincerely hope these 3 things culminate in better international football: teams have to become a lot better at attacking collectively, as a team. International football could be so good, looking at all the stars, but that means practicing together, and focusing more on international caps.

This World Cup is working out like World War 2 - France have forfeited, the USA turned up late, and England are left to fight the Germans!

And the Japanese surprised the crap out of everyone. :)

I only caught the last few minutes but I saw the highlights, and the goal that wasn't off a free kick was amazing. I expected a draw or maybe a 1-0 win, but not 3-1.

Also gf Italy. Sucks for New Zealand to go undefeated yet not qualify. Portugal better qualify tomorrow, and I would love to see the Swiss through as well.

I don't really watch Soccer, but I played soccer for one year when I was younger. The only team I really know is USA, so that's who I'm going for. That goal by Donovan kind of made we want to watch soccer a bit more.

I just don't understand how they run up and down that field without any breaks. That is endurance, I guess! You'll need alot of it to play soccer or maybe any sport. In my opinion, the main sport in the USA is American Football. The four major sports in America are Football (Go Cowboys!), Baseball, Basketball, and Hockey (Yes, hockey! ;)) But I do like soccer. :)

Dunno what I was thinking. >.< At first I put Brazil cuz they always look good, but.

And looking at Portugal's performance in their 7-0 domination, do you guys think they'll get far? Or was it just because their opponent wasn't even up to par?

*Not a big fútbol fan, so I'm just wondering.

In 2006 Italy and France met in the Final. In 2010 they'll meet in the airport.

This time Zidane will headbutt the airport security people :P

Isn't it just our luck that England that is going against Germany on Sunday?

Hm, i was surprised by Italy.

I would have betted on getting past group stage at least. But, this will at least be an awakening for the Italian team. I'm not too much into Italian football, but their problem have been that there haven't been many new faces they've been able to take in. All the young promising players aren't good/mature enough, and the old are getting too old.

I imagine, with my amateur view, that they'll be much more of a contender to the Euro 2012.

Also, well done New Zealand.
