June 19, 201016 yr Denmark -Cameroon was a FUN game to watch. definately top 3 so far this tournament.
June 19, 201016 yr Out of curiosity, what happens if both the US and England draw in their next match? Which one would move on, they would be tied? It would go down to goal difference, which at the moment England and USA are tied on.But if they both draw in their next match, that would mean they both have a 0 goal difference... When goal difference is the same for two teams the next thing they look at is who scored more goals overall. As it stands England are going to be knocked out.
June 19, 201016 yr If two or more teams are equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their rankings will be determined as follows:d) greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned;e) goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams concerned;f) greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the teams concerned;g) drawing of lots by the FIFA Organising Committee. So no penalties or something, bit of a shame. I think the Netherlands are the first team qualified for the 1/8th finals now, since Denmark beat Cameroon. They really need to start playing better though.
June 19, 201016 yr "g) drawing of lots by the FIFA Organising Committee." What does that mean? Basically flipping a coin? If so, that's idiotic...
June 19, 201016 yr "g) drawing of lots by the FIFA Organising Committee." What does that mean? Basically flipping a coin? If so, that's idiotic... That is pretty much what it means. June 19, 201016 yr It could happen in England's/USA's group if the results go the right way. It's a terrible way to choose who goes through but something has to be done when the scenario comes up. In my opinion that's even less fair. what else could be done?
June 19, 201016 yr it's unlikely that the US will draw with algeria. Just hope slovenia beats england. It's a better thought than worrying about two draws :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
June 19, 201016 yr Ahhhh [bleep]ing Australia!!! I cant believe how crap they played just then against Ghana. there were at least 3 moments I saw where they could have scored but had the kicking power of a grandma. Not to mention the Ref' (both of them) were total [bleep]ers in both rounds. Yeah, not to mention our lines were [bleep]ed, either dropping or cutting across. And our defenders sucked [bleep]. No concept of lines, formation, structure or anything. Australia was outclassed by Ghana. All uptill end of the first half we were getting literally penetrated. Second half, we held on to the ball, which was good. Lots of chances on goal, but their GK was too good. Compare that with first half, 9 on 2. Australia should have won that, they were the better team even with 10 men for over an hour of the game, does make me wonder what the score would have been if Kewell hadn't hand balled it. It would be great if Australia managed to get to the last 16, although not sure Ghana will challenge Germany too much. Nah, Australia's 10 isn't even worth Ghana's 5. They might've gotten a goal with Kewell, but I didn't expect them to go past the group stage.
June 20, 201016 yr I'll admit though, Ghana's Goalie had some serious talent.True, but don't rule out Schwarzer. I counted at least 4 phenomenal saves. 44th minute actually THROUGH the legs of one of our [cabbage]tastic defenders, just glanced off his hand, 60' and then in extra 1 minute time aswell.
June 20, 201016 yr Hey, nobody expects Australia to do anything in this tournament, so don't even bother getting all riled out about it  GOD SAVE THE QUEEN
June 20, 201016 yr Hey, nobody expects Australia to do anything in this tournament, so don't even bother getting all riled out about it  GOD SAVE THE QUEEN Well it's good to see Canad -- oh ... wait, YEAH THAT'S RIGHT, THEY DIDN'T EVEN QUALIFY. :-D EDIT: Also, guys. Is it just me or all have all the refs been complete [bleep]wits ? Feel free to pose your own thoughts, but I think we can still get through the group stage. If Ghana beats Serbia, and then we beat them. It'll be decidedly difficult without Kewell and Moore, but as long as we have those amazing strikers - Jesus and Bresciano on our side, it's all good.
June 20, 201016 yr Hah...Aussie eh. Wait, I'm so confused, are the All Whites playig tonight (This morning) or tomorrow night? It's sunday night here, and I have an exam Tuesday...
June 20, 201016 yr The European teams (with the exception of The Netherlands) all seem to be struggling, games that should be a walk over for them have been hard fought draws or even losses so they're obviously not adapting to something as well as other sides. Seems this World Cup is being largely dominated by lower ranked teams throwing everyone in defence, an apparently terrible ball, some often questionable referring decisions and some impressive goal keeping blunders  Really hoping for some nice attacking football from Brazil and Ivory Coast tonight though  "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."

Manchester city played with it for 6 months, no complaints. Player testimonials say they didn't have any problems, rather the ball was good. It's pressure / nerves on the Europeans' part. they're out of form. A swede in the city system said he thought it could be the conditions that were putting the europeans off, or simply the vuvuzelas. refs have been terrible. Why don't refs need to qualify, like teams? the prestige involved would merit such a system imo. refs have decided a lot of games, latest one was Italy - New Zealand today. In my opinion, Italy shouldn't have had their penalty, therefore goal. That's a weird situation to be in for a reigning world champion... Brazil game today should be good though. don't both teams really need to win it?
June 20, 201016 yr Holland was a tough game yesterday, but I'm happy with the victory. It's very hard playing against these defensive opponents. I'm still confident. :) Italy was terrible again, today. Huu. Can't wait for Brasil tonight. :) I think the refs are exceptional this world cup. Not much bad decisions. :) Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
June 20, 201016 yr The NZ goal looked offside, so the bad penalty call canceled that out. Also, these refs love handing out cards.
June 20, 201016 yr Really happy NZ managed a draw with Italy this afternoon, brilliant defending from NZ in the second half. The Referee did annoy me though, giving the injured NZ defender a yellow for "time wasting". French team seen to be going to pot, quite funny really.

And I wish I had some NZ friends so I could pass out some deserved high-fives

June 20, 201016 yr Agreed. Can't believe he gave that 2nd yellow to Kaka just like that without knowing anything. He hardly [bleep]ing touched the guy and he went down clutching his face like a [kitty]. Not to mention the obvious double handball for that 2nd goal. It was fun to watch though.
June 20, 201016 yr Brazil - Ivory Coast. Not a bad match, spoiled a bit at the end with Kaka getting sent off. A really poor decision by the ref, considering he didn't even see the incident.
