Well this is entirely unfair; as others have said the rich mages with friends will dominate this. :thumbdown:

They're not going to die in this, or at least be near invincible. Not sure whether people will use Zuriels the entire time and switch between SoL but we'll see. Personally I think 50% speed reduction is much better especially considering it works against range as well and not just melee.

I think a scoring competition would have been better, but this is the first Jagex event that I'm actually interested in due to the mayhem that will ensue.

Guaranteed that someone will have something ridiculous like 15K+ kills without a death.

Alright, so anyone want to put a D-Bow team together? Ruin some of these max mages fun?

Even better yet, if one person can get enough clan mates togeather in support, they can spent the entire game barraging the max amount of people - who have explosive potted themselves nearly to death in the first place. Hard to find a clear enough hour, but placing the large disadvantage to the enemy team should let most of the serious public players be on your side to keep the random people busy.

Take verac brassard over platebody and use arcane shield/farseer over the guady semi-useless ones.

Inventory half extreme prayer pots, half aids, and hope the noobs pile on.

I have seen this all before.

And frankly, I am hunter and those are my pray.

The person who wins this won't have faced me unless they cower infront of the respawn room hugging aids.

I don't care if I win/die/whatever, but ruining the day of some so-called hotshot pkers who come swarming into cw for some FREE MEMBERS is just hot. :twisted:

I agree. It would promote playing the game to win and score instead of promoting pking.

Well, I am happy they are doing this sort of thing, but I really do not think Castle War is a good activity to hold a pking competition. It really is not the objective of the game, perhaps a most capture competition might be better or just hold the event in Soul Wars.

lol you dont even know what your talking about. Arcane>divine? Have fun tanking.

Money/stats alone won't win it, you will need a good amount of experience to succesfully get a massive kill streak. But without money/stats you definately won't be winning this. I for one won't even bother attempting it.

I wish I had a few good friends that would just let me kill them over and over again lol. Course I'm sure Jagex has put measures in place to make sure people don't abuse it like that.

Seriously, we need to start up a tip.it D-bow clan this weekend, and go wreck these mages.

I'm not sure I agree with the consensus of "richtankmagespendgpfreeP2P". Tank magers are quite difficult to kill, but how many kills will they really be able to force on a weekend where almost everyone will be actively avoiding death, and seeking out reasonable targets to kill? I've fought them before, standing by the flag blood barraging constantly. Praying magic, I was able to attack for five minutes before I ran low on bandages. By then I was bored, and decided to play elsewhere. That was before arcane stream/extreme pots/sol of course. But I can say with confidence that there's going to be more to this than just tank maging. The definition of a tank (in scape anyways) is a defensively oriented character... at the expense of offense, which is definitely necessary here. If a whole clan is willing to sacrifice itself, that might make a winner, but idk if that would really happen.

No food or non-combat stuff.

It sounds good except the concept art signed reward. I can almost guarantee this will not go to somebody who enjoys cw but somebody who is an incredibly rich manipulator/monster hunter who can afford the best gear. They will be trying for the free membership only and the other reward will be almost discarded. Even the top-line cwers will find it hard to win the event. I would much prefer an event in which the person who got the most scores over the weekend won or something castle wars only related.

Geez, you really think that there is such a thing as being GOOD at CW? Sure, there is some measure of skill, but PvP skills, gears, and levels are far more important in CW then just knowledge of the game, as far as killing people goes.

 

Why do you think the REAL CW pros use zuriels, arcane, etc?

 

Stop pulling facts out of your behind. You can't just make claims like that with no backup, no proof. Obviously people with higher levels have an advantage. That is why you train. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but its true. You don't know Jack about what you are saying.

 

BTW: This fits within the "mild" flaming allowed, per TIF rules. Not even mods are exempt from my wrath.
