Dungeonsweepers (DGS) - Huge changes; read first post.

New DGS medals

 

Photobucket's having trouble with the uploads, so it'll be a while before a few of the buggy medals work themselves out.

But! here they are!

 

What the medals indicate:

The icon in the background obviously describes the Floor Plan you earned the medal on.

The ring indicates you were the keyer of the floor.

The Primal Full Helmet indicates you were a DPSer (You must earn berserker, as well as either battlemage or sharpshooter.)

And the time indicates the time you broke.

A dark outer ring indicates you died some time during the floor.

 

You must screenshot the winterface in order to earn a medal.

You must also have a ranked DGSer in your floor, to confirm your medal.

Floors done outside DGS do not count, as we cannot have a rank confirm them.

 

 

We made the decision to not issue special medals for variations of berserker + battlemage/Sharpshooter, and It's too easy.

If you get It's too easy, you will get the same medal as if you had gotten berserker + battlemage and vice versa.

 

The more, prestigious medals might receive graphical upgrades (IE become animated) in the future.

But right now that is not a huge concern, as i'm pretty sure nobody will have a 18 min or lower medal for a while.

I think the medals should be more appealing to look at the better they are

Like the 15 minute warped keying no deaths should look different (and better), then then 25 minute DPSer with a death medal.

Maybe as a personal thing from person to person (on who got the reward), you could have differnet weapons/armor.

 

Like if I were to get a DPSer medal right now, I'd rather it had a Primal Baxe on it, CSB (not really, since it looks plain, just using as an example), or a Blood Necklace, since those are what I have bound to do DPS with. I'm sure some people (like Obt) would much rather have a Hex bow on their medal then a Primal helm.

I think a cross weapons thing would look cool too. Like if I got Berserker and Battle-mage, I think it'd look cool to have a Primal 2h and Cele Cat staff crossing each other on my medal.

The primal helm seems like a poor representation overall as well...since if you're in DGS with a primal helm....something went horribly wrong.

 

Overall, i think more varied icons would be more desirable

Weird b/c i've never been able to find floors. I ask if anyone is doing occults or abandonds and people just keep on talking about slayer/frosts/random. So I started a party, then this guy said he'd prefer if a ranked keys and no ranks wanted to so I went to w148. Got my rapier in like 3 days, keyed some 35-40 minute floors which was fun, and that's the end of my story.

 

Point: hard to find floors.

 

The clan chat operates on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you're not there when floors start, you'll just have to wait your turn. It's important to keep in mind that teams often do rows of floors, so you may be waiting awhile in some cases. Spending a lot of time in the clan chat will help you get floors sooner.

 

But aside from that, I've seen you in the clan chat maybe once or twice (at most), and only in the past couple days. It's typically true that people who are more serious about dungeoneering will have a much easier time getting floors in DGS. We have a multitude of people who hang out in the clan chat all the time and do just about every floor that pops up (and I'm talking about non-keyers). You can scrape by if all you want are chaotics and frost dragons, but don't expect keyers to cater to you or regulars to flock to you with that attitude.

 

It always amuses me when one or two people complain about not being able to find floors. You would probably be in a floor right now if you had used that energy to find one instead of posting here.

 

I am quite serious about dungeoneering, and I don't know which "attitude" you are talking about. I usually log on, join the cc, ask around for floors, and if I can't find any in 5-10ish minutes, I start my own in 148.

 

If you are certain that you always have a multitude of people hanging out in the cc doing just about every floor, why is it that whenever I ask, people always seem to be talking about other random rs stuff? No one answers? Is that because of my attitude? I don't consider myself a "pro keyer" but I figure my floors would go faster if dging with people who'd be willing to gate stuff and not be afraid to run through a room to do a skill door.

People really need to stop being shy about asking for food.

 

 

I'm constantly finding food left in GDs, and then when we get the boss, ends up I'm somehow the only person with food.

Of course...I never know this...until AFTER THE BOSS IS ALREADY DEAD!!!

 

People....if you have no food...ASK BEFORE WE START THE BOSS.

In a dungeon I did with Matt, I got a comment about how much food I was carrying....

 

well.....it wouldn't be there if others were actually taking a salve or two from a kill.

I didn't even spam click for it, I went back through doors already done, and saw pile so salves just sitting there.

 

 

We just did necrolord, and no one tanked because no one apparently had food. I thought no one tanked because we kept messing up. But nope, apparently it was lack of food....which I had 10 of.

 

Case in point guys....if you really need food....stop being a [kitty]....and ask for some...

But before that....try actually picking up 2-3 in that GD you left 20 in.....

I only pick up food in DPS role when I'm in idling mode.

It's kind of a speed preference for me, I like to move between monsters as fast as possible.

Also, since I turm + ss flash, I usually can rely on a gd to heal me up.

that's fine to go from monster and monster till the gd is done, but I see people literally standing in a completed GD waiting for the keyer to open 3-5 more doors before telling them to GGS again....and ALL the food is still there......

 

 

Also, you can pick up food between combat turns, unless it's across the room of course.

This is where I want to get to too. At what time of the day (or night) do ranks do DGs with non-ranks? / At what is the chattuh most active?

 

Uh, there isn't a set time of day where ranks dg with non-ranks. The only time ranks don't dg with non-ranks is when the ranks need their high warpeds done, and even then there's a few non-ranks in there.

Also, I've never seen a rank invite anyone to a floor that is below 45 - not an exaggeration - been in cc for past week.

 

I'm not a rank, but as someone who started keying more and more, I do admit that I try to go for higher occults. Why? Bosses, they are much quicker at higher occults. Necrolord sucks big time. Also, asking 45+ gets you 90+ dgers who usually are a bit better. I still try to do abandoneds though.

For the record, these medals are for times you broke. IE nikce, 20:10 sadly translates to 21:00 :P

I might add more medals in the future for other times.

It's just a little time consuming to do.

 

Chances are 23/24/26/27/28/29/30 min medals will come when I have the free time, or I can find a peon willing to do the work for me.

 

and once again, when someone breaks 18 mins, you should actually msg someone ranked so we can pretty up the 18 min medal.

Would there be any point in destroying my platebody for a promethium rapier? My bind set up would then be: shadow silk hood, promethium 2H, promethium rapier and a celestial surgebox. I can't wield primal equipment yet.

I wouldn't. If you want a DPS bind you could use prom gloves or a cele cat or emp fire staff. Or just wait until you get a blood neck, they're dropping like crazy lately.
