What is the hardest quest?

Recommended Posts

Hmm... possible choices...

Desert Treasure: Considered a hard quest but it was rather easy for me.

Monkey Madness: Was a little long, got annoying at the part trying to get out... and level 10 scorpions hitting 20's...

Id say the hardest quest is (for me) would be... Goblin Diplomacy Dood that quest was tough, didnt complete until level 90. MM was easy at level 40... don't listen to Jagex; what they consider hard isnt hard, and what easy isnt easy.

I've done all the quests and for me the hardest quest was definitely Mournings End II.

The puzzles were so complex and required so much thinking that it took me forever to figure it all out. And then on top of all that you are being attacked constantly and have to find safe areas to think everything out.

Rat Catchers was also extremely annoying but they have changed it to make it a bit easier now so I guess that makes it ok.

Summer's End would also be fairly hard if you didn't have a high combat to stay alive but once you get the hang of each room it is also easier than many other quests.

Summer's End: Timing was a big thing here, which I epicly fail at, got hit for 60 combined a few times, and got redbarred once (87 hp).

Mourning Ends Part II: Confusing. 'Nuff said.

Underground Pass: Really not overly difficult, just long. The first rope balance and the ending bridges though...

Inefficiency = fun. That's objective and can't be debated. Ever.

-dt was a joke (beat at 52 combat) blood guy was hardest

-mm was not bad

-dream mentor was really hard at 90 combat with 55 str -.-

-guy who bumped the 3 year old thread: epic failure

also: i remember when "devious minds" was considered one of the hardest quests in the game (65 smithing requirement)

Any quest with line of sight puzzles is annoying.

Rat Catchers

Eadger's Ruse

Missing My Mummy due to having to get Sq'uirks

Furthermore, quests were the direction or area you move into affects the outcome are annoying.

Anything Desert based

Mourning's End Part Two

And many others I forget

The reason for this? Runescape's movement system. Point and click. You have little control over how your character moves and the slightest misclick can send you hurtling to certain death. Sure, these puzzles are pretty cool in Zelda or Mario games, but NOT in Runescape.

If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

Mourning's End 2

Summer's End

I absolutely hate quests that puts us in ridiculous puzzles such as the one you do to obtain Squirks or the one to obtain Gout Weed, precise timing is required and it gets frustrating.

I also dread quests that requires me to go into the desert to go through some trap infested area.

Mourning's Ends Part 2 by FAR. Most people now don't do it without a guide, which is a shame since it is also the most challenging. But without a guide on the day of released I finished in 13 hours of straight gameplaying with breaks to eat and use the restroom. I was one of the first 50-100 people to finish the quest, the first person finishing in a little over 11 hours I believe.

Monkey Madness - annoying puzzle, scorpions that hit far too much for their level, getting back to jail every minute or two, etc - OH, and beating the boss with a yew shortbow at around 40 range.

Underground Pass - took me two hours to get over the bridges with 30 agility.

Ratcatchers - the mansion part is nearly impossible! (Or WAS, they made it easier recently)

by far dealing with scabaras: got almost killed twice by the magers and took forever because i kept messin up

Trust me alevel 96 with a quest cape cant lie

Mep2: fell 1 time on the handhold at 60 agility and bought a death tally from ge (noobs)

Rocking out: took awhile since it was my last quest and i was racing thru it

Underground pass: fun yet different, i couldnt get what cutting off a unicorn's head or talking to a crazy witch had to do with anything

Desert treasure: soo easy

MAN I WISH I COULD DO RATCATCHERS MANSION AGAIN IT WAS SOO FUN

Noobs: We pay we say

I haven't done the vast majority of quests, but I've done a few difficult ones. I would have to say the hardest quest I've done, one that's actually put me through my paces, would have to be Monkey Madness. Although I have done Desert Treasure, I can actually say I enjoyed the quests and the fights, however MM was just a complete pain in the [wagon] for me, especially with the massive hitting scorpions! :x

The most annoying and frustrating quest I have done to date was Ratcatchers, words cannot describe how annoyed I got with:

A) Trying to catch the damn rats.

B) Travelling through the house.

Me and a friend did Ratcatchers together and we both got very frustrated with it. :wall:

Erm.. It took me 3 hours to complete Sheep Herder.

But Underground Pass was a real pain. I remember being down to my last Summer Pie by the time I reached the Well, after spending 25 minutes (with 53 boosted Agility) trying to cross those stupid jumps.

Having to go through the Pass again for Regicide was easier, but still, not something I'd like to do again.

Saying that, I haven't done most Master quests. :P

Im not even trying to be funy or anything, but i would say earnet the chicken. For my skill level in the game, that was a really challening quest going through all those doors. That was 8 years ago! wow nothing about that quest has changed either and im still a noob :P

Dude, I STILL haven't done Sheep Herder. I looked for like 1 1/2 hours for the stupid incinerator, since i do all my quests without guides.

rat catchers and keniths concerns

I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"

walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come

None of the quests were really "hard"..

One could say Mep2 wasn't easy without a guide: it involved a lot of "going around" through the temple just to discover where that lightbeam would go.. Ow and those handholds, those things (needed to pass them 6 times :( ).. Also gathering the materials requires some attention (but by then you could've opened the shortcut from the elven area/UP).

Other than that, WGS might be difficult for the unprepared, low level fighter.. (Nearly got myself killed in that first fight with the balance elemental)..

But most quests I did over 3 years ago, and I honestly can't remember them anymore, they're all easy!

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Rat Catchers was the worst quest I've ever done.

It took be well over 2 hours to get into the house let alone the joys of catching mice.

Hardest I've yet to do one which I would class as mega hard, but then again I've only got 215 QP.

Edit: didn't realize I was reading a post from 2006. It seems every week now somebody is going through the graveyard and pulling up dead threads.

Mourning's Ends Part 2 by FAR. Most people now don't do it without a guide, which is a shame since it is also the most challenging. This.

I am one of those people that found it impossible to complete with a guide. Even then, I was unable to do it with just one guide. Some guides left a few things out or were worded confusing at places. It took three separate guides open for me to finish it. With the guides it still took me about 8 hours to complete. What can I say? I sucked at that puzzle.

After all the guides to carry me through all of the puzzles, I tried so hard to buy a death talisman from somebody, but nobody would sell to me and I was forced to go on a scavenger hunt at the end. MEP2 was long, dangerous, and had very challenging puzzles.

Am i the only one who found summers end fairly easy? Did it on the day of release, one inventory of food for the first two rooms, one for the second, not dieing once. As long as you don't panic, it's simple.

MEP2 was a crazy quest. It all depends on the time, i did most of the 'hard' quests back at low levels, like doing DT at lvl 83, that was very challenging, but nowdays at level 131, it would be a doddle. The same with underground pass, had something like 35 agility, was around level 60's.

WGS was hard puzzle wise, it was a series of quite challenging puzzles imo, doing it without a guide wasn't easy.
