Magic Accuracy Nerf

There's been a bit of a rabble claiming that the accuracy of spells has been reduced across the board. People claim they saw it in MMG's FC. I was at steels with around 80-90 magic bonus and hitting a lot less than I was used to and it's either this or I'm just paranoid.

In f2p dungeoneering, I was hitting a lot less; but I may be imagining things. However, the max hit of fire blast became 77. I am not imagining this at all. My dps is now half of what it was previously, and I trained my magic for nothing.

 

If requested, I'll go on a c1 and find a screenie.

Your max hit for fire blast is 77? I think you're imagining things.

I am not imagining things, at all. I do not store chaos runes in my blastbox. I use a normal fire staff. I recorded a max hit splat of 77 with fire blast in a dungeon.

 

A teammate in my dg team with much higher mage than me was also reporting a lowered max of 146.

 

I'm going on a c1 right now.

 

EDIT: Something strange is going on; I'm positive I had a max hit splat of 7, but now I just hit an 80 non max hit. Maybe Jagex put in some damage soaking thing? After all, this is a c1, fighting level 20s, not level 130 skeletons... However, I just hit a series of 5 under 20 hits. There's been some damage nerf, that much is clear.

i was dging on my noob, and got a max hit splash of 67 using fire blast. usually magic is pretty accurate in dg, its been sucking.

After the update this week, I noticed that I almost never managed to score high hit splats on Glacors, despite hitting upwards of 700 LP of damage. I only got the max splat on some splats over 820, but splats going at 800, 700, 600 damage didn't seem to be high enough to activate the high hit splat.

 

Perhaps it's just an issue with the high hit splat coding and nothing else?

FIVE hits under 20?!?! Such a large test you seem to have done, this proves it has been nerfed.

 

 

Come on now guys.... If you truely think it has been nerfed then do some extensive testing, don't just kill a few things/do a few floors and decide that it has definitely changed when you could really just be getting unlucky hits.

99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving.

 

Jagex'd out of my untrimmed hp cape on 6/14/2011.

It's not an issue, jagex removed the "max hit" splats, as 99% of the time it wasn't your max hit.

Now max hit splats only come up with the very high end of the hits you can do.

I believe this is correct; it is something I have also noticed on the Hexhunter bow. I don't seem to be hitting the orange hit splats as much, but I am still hitting high.

This. Hailstorm magic damage used to be 100% high hit splat, not anymore. Also I hit 960 with a max hit splat twice on glacors, which is exactly my fire surge max (440) doubled + 80. Hits below 960 didn't activate this. I'm quite happy that max hit splats are more like actual max hit splats now :).

Only thing I wonder is why is slayer dart o bad at barrows now? It used to be decent.

It hasn't changed just better methods have replaced it.

 

Don't think average hit was 30 back then but whatever.

Me and the wise old man go way back.... he was a foolish boy back then.

its probably just a problem with the max hit splat script.

 

i was hitting 1100+ on ice strykewyrms last task and went the ENTIRE task, with multiple 800+ hits, without a max hit splat.

just a glitch with the max hit splat code in magic, just tell jagex and they'll fix it in 6 months
