November 19, 201114 yr Yeah? I use to read some achievement blogs on zybez, but that's all I know about it.
November 19, 201114 yr Go to Zybez and look for yourself? Best advice I can give you. "Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come." "An imperfect man can do great deeds, and a great man imperfect ones.
November 19, 201114 yr I've heard you have to post a certain number of times to be able to post in some places and it's highly moderated so posts get deleted a lot just go find out for yourself like he said, this thread will probably get locked/moved noobs crowding hill giants? not on my watch
November 19, 201114 yr Author ^^, Hmm yeah, but I kind of want to know how the communities are different - and it would take me a long time to get a sense of the zybez community. ^, ah, interesting note about the modding :). == one this is that zybez seems bigger - it has about twice the members on right now compared to tip.it. Interestingly its guest/member viewing ratio (in the last 15 mins) is like 1/2 of tip.it's.
November 19, 201114 yr Author Yeah, and tip.it might get more traffic still anyway (because tip.it is much more than a forum, while for zybez the defining aspect is the forum - i think). that would explain the guest to member viewing ratios.
November 19, 201114 yr I've never enjoyed Zybez because it lacks any semblance of a metagaming community. If you even mention efficiency or exp/h there, you get flamed. I'm not saying it's much better here, but there's a much larger metagaming community here than there, so I'm far less likely to get flamed, etc. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.
November 19, 201114 yr Yeah, one time I posted about herb farming on a Help thread there and I immediately got like a dozen thumbs-downs and a page of angry posts telling me how dumb I was, didn't I know herb farming is only like 70k gp/hr, lol it takes like 2 hrs to grow, what a [wagon]. And I'm like, . Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP

November 19, 201114 yr Quality, not quantity. :P This x100 Most of the "help" on their moneymaking/question subforum is so incorrect/outdated its almost sad. Unlike tipit, where you have quite a few regular posters who actually know what they're talking about and can usually back it up with math/reasoning.
November 19, 201114 yr The only thing zybez has over tip.it is their clan support/activity. I prefer tip.it for everything else.
November 19, 201114 yr Zybez got milkTip.it got Cookies ON TOPIC:I remember using Zybez treasure trail coordinator program. You entered coords and it would tell you where on Wilderness map the coords would be. Tip.it had similar program but the picture was to little.
November 19, 201114 yr Most of the zybez users quit the game back in 2007 and are now making new "runescape is an addiction" threads weekly. It might be different now, I haven't browsed the forum in years. Edited November 19, 201114 yr by Kimberly Edited out fansite bshing
November 19, 201114 yr Most of the zybez users quit the game back in 2007 and are now making new "runescape is an addiction" threads weekly. It might be different now, I haven't browsed the forum in years. There's no shortage of people on this forum who are ex-RuneScapers themselves and are unafraid to call RuneScape for all the flaws it has. However, here, they've just been more efficiently shoved into the Off-Topic forum than is the case with Zybez. I know plenty of OTers who haven't visited this board in years but still continue to be part of the Tip.It community. Some would say the OT community is a community in itself. I think that's the main difference. There's something for people to move on to here once RuneScape gets too boring, whereas there simply isn't on Zybez no matter how much they've tried. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
November 19, 201114 yr I cleaned off a few posts on this thread that contained nothing but fansite bashing while holding little in constructive criticism. Please try to keep it civil for the future. We want to try to give this thread a fair chance, yet if it degrades into a proverbial pissing contest, it will have to be locked. Thanks~
November 20, 201114 yr Back in 2005-2006 when I was in my "prime" in terms of RS knowledge/activity, I got my start on Zybez with writing guides. They had a great PK'ing forum. I enjoyed watching everyone's PK vids and screenshots, back when using Windows Movie Maker effects was considered fancy. After every video contained less legitimate PK footage/loots drops and instead more 3-second clips of a lucky number-roll, 30-second introductions, and unnecessary Sony Vegas "special effects" which made clips difficult to comprehend, I quit watching PK vids altogether. Also, since the PK'ing community has a stronger tendency to trash-talk and is generally less mature than the rest of the RS population, I grew less tolerant of the PK'ing discussion scene as I grew older. I haven't been around there in a while-- I wouldn't be surprised if everything's more or less the same as always. I'm probably the only thing that changed.
November 20, 201114 yr Zybez has way more trolls, still one of my posts was deleted for expressing my opinion in a mature way without flaming >.> I like tip it way more :)
November 22, 201114 yr Zybez host a radio station aswell with various DJ's around the clock... other than that... its a forum full of teenagers. "We shouldn't wish for easier lives, we should wish to be stronger men"
November 24, 201114 yr However, here, they've just been more efficiently shoved into the Off-Topic forum than is the case with Zybez. I know plenty of OTers who haven't visited this board in years but still continue to be part of the Tip.It community. Some would say the OT community is a community in itself. I beg to differ, us OTers are not shoved into OT. We get sucked in by a supernatural force. However, OT really is a different community like you said, and talk of Runescape is shunned.
November 24, 201114 yr Zybez = Power-hungry & abusive staff, crap community, "clans" is actually crashwars/flaming/etcTip.It = Actually good
