There shouldn't be this rapid increase in prices because of the mass ban. Who autos on their main? Who stores party hats on the accounts that they macro on? Think about it. There should be no reason that party hat prices should be affected by a mass ban except that people are stupid and merchants are greedy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As well as having new systems to detect people cheating in this way, we are also using a new system to go through and ban other accounts used by these cheats, so they can't just cheat on a 'throwaway' account they don't care about, and expect their other accounts to be unaffected.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If their new system works as advertised, then they banned many mains of many autoers. This paragraph from Runescape.com suggests that if you have 2 mules, one main, and an autoer, all four characters will be banned. Reading official RuneScape newsposts is a good way to get information...

Jagex have begun the IP banning phase. They're sick and tired of new bots, macros, etc coming along and [bleep]ing up their game. They ban accounts by what your IP has been logged into.

Indeed it is unfair, but look at it on Jagex's part: Better safe than sorry, right?

Well i have to agree with alot of people here that i am tired of everyone complaing about the rares...

 

 

 

- if you dont have one and dont care for one... Then dont worry about it and keep using ur money on ur skills or whatever u do

 

 

 

- if you dont have one and want one... Work hard to earn ur money and be proud of when u finally get one, dont complain that its too hard.. any person thats played runescape for a while should know by now that nothing comes easy.

When something "unexpected" happens in game, merchants always try and take advantage of it. Noone knows for sure how many party hats that are gone from the market, so of course people owning a phat take advantage of that and ask for higher prices

I'm happy to hear that they banned 15,000 account's. Autoers are a real pain to the economy of the game(they lower prices and make it harder for people that actually play the game to make money). They lower prices on coal, fish, and every other item that has to be gotten. Sure, their's a loss of rare's but they weren't rightfully earned. Hopefully Runescape keeps looking hard for autoers, rather then every year or so have a mass ban after all the items circulate into the system.

For there to be a decrease in supply you're assuming that the autoers were selling their phats... Now why would they do that if it was a status symbol and cash is easy to come by through autoing??

the real result of the mass ban is that 100's of accounts got banned without even ever macroing my 110 main with 79 slayer and all other stats under 70 got perm banned for macroing and ive never macroed a day in my life and i dont know where they got that i did from ive played 5 years and in the past year the only stat of mine that went up was slayer att str and hits and like 2 mage lvls, o and well for not knowing how many phats were gone we know atleast 2 are :S my blue and yellow -.- o and i heard that swiftswitch logs ur char into the macro system that jagex has, just something i heard not saying its true o and the funny thing is only my main was banned and my lvl62 wasnt so...i dunno why im banned for macroing!!$@ lol -.-

They don't ban by IP, they ban according to UID (that's how it became detectable). Anyone with basic knowledge about computers knows how to use a proxy or change their MAC address. Also, many people have a dynamic IP, while others share the same IP, so IP bans are pretty much useless and won't accomplish anything.

now that that i merched 59mil im ready for a phat, eagerly went 2 world 2 fally and see boom phat price gone wayyyyyyy higher the blue is now 160mil it bumped over 40mil Y? cus the autoer that made millions and bot phat got banned and now there is less phat!
