Artemis1330
And slayer is profitable because p pots are somthing around 2-3k each, cballs are about 250, and one overload is 50-60k. Overload price is arguable anyway, due to the experience gained from making them. That is, very roughly, 265k per hour. I am not counting cannon because you can't cannon every task and cannon usage depends highly on player preference (for example: are you cannoning dark beast or killing in the dg? yes it's faster to cannon but few do) . I also did not mention going for best kills per hour, as few to none do that and even know how. That entails using soa and spec restores, etc.Would I be allowed to use the term "out of touch" here? Because the kinds of players that have trouble making money are the ones that don't have access to any of that. That was more a response to kimberly then it was an argument on how to make the most gp out of slayer. My point was that even using the most expensive "gear" (overloads/p pots/cannon) you can still profit off slayer. Surely using less exspensive items makes more gp, at the result less xp/kills. Some of this is really getting off topic, imo. So pm me if you really want to continue this. I am not a skiller, but i do some skills.

As described by Jex, she would easily trip someone, but would still catch them before they fell. Like most of the Desert Pantheon, her appearance is unique amongst the gods of RuneScape. Apmeken can change her appearance at will, although she always has the head of a monkey, ape, or baboon, depending on the exact nature she is displaying. The monkey represents skillfulness, the ape is wise, and the baboon, in nearly all situations, is comical. Thus
Here is a flaw with GWD gear: Nex gear/Spirit shields/Top-tier boots/Dominion Tower gloves are virtually inaccessible to the majority of RuneScapers. The very very very top has access to this gear, but the rest do not... because their prices are exorbitant. Because only the VERY top have access to Nex tier, the rest of the high levels rely on GWD gear. This means that everyone from level 75 to 99 uses GWD gear (except for a small portion of max players who can sport full Nex gear). Solution: We need another tier. Perhaps another tier at level 90, while making Nex gear easier to obtain. That way, the very very very top has level 90 gear to play with, the majority of high levels can use Nex gear, and people who have grown out of their Barrows actually have a feasible gear upgrade: GWD gear. As of now, people generally use Barrows until they are fairly high level, simply because GWD gear is not very affordable. It is not very affordable because it is being used, even by top players who are almost maxed. Or those players can learn to play the game. Money is way too easy to make. I've gone from 0gp to Nex set (with divine) twice. It isn't hard, just everyone wants instant gratification which is not how life works. Not everyone knows secret magic to earn money like you do. Some of us choose not to use methods that we feel would devalue our own experience (and yes I know you can just reply to this with "then gtfo")Mithril dragons to get arma and Nex is devaluing your experience? This isn't a secret. You can't make money if you don't put in any effort. I was never given any money or help. And I never gambled or duelled or merched. Stop implying that. And if you aren't doing something that makes money what the heck do you need Pernix/Virtus/Torva for anyway? If you want to look wealthy you have to be wealthy. Platinum_Myr
I was actually implying merching, staking, gambling, or getting ridiculously lucky with a clue scroll (things along those lines). I am sorry if that was not intended however those are the only methods I can think of that would provide the gp for nex armors. I am not looking for instant gratification, or saying that slayer isn't profitable. What I am saying is that the price difference between bandos and torva is very high. I choose not to attempt staking or gambling or merchanting because I feel that these would devalue my player experience. Mithril dragons have never been good to me. That is of course just my experience and it isn't based on any evidence. However, I don't want to do a 1-2m/hr task for 200+ hours in order to have nough to purchase the items. I was really only commenting assuming you were referring to merchanting/staking as the source of money. I was wrong to make that assumption. Estoc
Pretty excited the direction nex armor is going at the moment. It's moving towards being an actual level 80 armor, the difference from the next best thing (bandos) being around 5% increase in lifepoint boost instead of a solid 40% lifepoint boost on the live game, not even taking into account it's substantially higher stats. This really opens the door to seeing level 90 armor sets without them being game-breakingly powerful. 1 From the empty days of hope, deny the darknessFollow my voice, we'll run far away from hereIf only to hide, to escape this lifeAnd live forever, forever in the sun
Saradomin_Mage
I'd prefer if Balfrug Kreeyath still had his three faces - that look was pretty cool. Not so much Tstanon Karlak because his face looked like an evil fish, lol. At fisrt I didn't like the idea that the gap between nex gear and standard GWD gear became so small, and even less so when they boosted the tiering to level 75 for GWD. In retrospect it's not so bad, really - the difference between barrows and GWD is also so puny that I don't feel the need to ever buy Bandos/Ganodermic again. And of course the extremely gradual (and linear...) tiering system opens up the path to releasing level 85+ gear. The only problem I have is that the tiering structure is so linear that the progression is extremely boring - but that's a debate for the beta thread. 1 In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers. Urza285
Currently on a midnight shift and I get off in over 2 hours. Do you think it's worth it to stay up for the update and maybe get the kill count for bandos? Right now pretty much the only items I'm interested in this far are the bandos helmet, gloves, armadyl gloves aaand... I think that's it. Saradomin_Mage
I'd imagine that swifts would be better than Armadyl/Pernix gloves because of the doubleshot ability. Torva boots might also be better than dragon boots, unless they're completely defensive like Bandos. I'm not sure whether they'll stat Nex boots above or below Glacor boots, as the Glacor boots are still currently tier 75 in the live game but 85 in the EoC. The non-degradeable robes might look good compared to gano/virtus, and the crossbow for anyone who hates DG. If it has a special attack too, chances are it'll be extremely worthwhile. Amulets might be fun, if we get something that boosts ranged strength or gives a bigger magic damage boost than Arc stream. Otherwise I can't see them having much point. The Bandos helmet does look the most appealing, probably being an exceptional defensive helm with strength bonus, well above Neitz and a bit weaker than Torva. Anyway ETA is like 24 hours? So you won't need to stay up just yet :P Edit: Forgot about Virtus Wand! Probably the best thing to look forward to. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers. strilmus
Having dumb looking demons is okay too, as they were portrayed in the olden days, there are many different interpretations of them showing various degrees of things anathema to humans. On a side note, the bandos helm is great in eoc, so it should maintain much value...they better have some freakin arma boots too if they're going so far to give everybody gloves

Ezkaton
TBH I was just thinking about all the scaremongering/opinions of people that's kinda been happening and come up with the conclusion that this is kinda a bit like the situation surrounding London 2012.... Think about it. Everyone was warned lots and lots and lots of times not to come into the centre of London as it'd be packed with tourists, Games people and the like. What happened? Inner London became a ghost town, businesses suffered and the scaremongering worked. In a roundabout way it could work the same here: Most of EoE this morning had resigned itself that Sara, Arma and Bandos will be packed to the rafters with people camping for the new drops to make a quick buck and it'll be hell to compete. So we settled for the idea of Zamorak. However, just thinking about how many other clans/people will be resigning themselves to this... Maybe Bandos/Arma/Sara wont be as packed as we first thought, and therefore the crush will really be at Zamorak. IDK. I just think the parallel works and it could easily happen. I doubt many would draw the same 'Zammy will be quietest' conclusion because you've reached it from false logic of Zammy not having new drops particularly. After all from concept arts etc Zammy would appear to be getting an entire mage robe set (ergo completing the combat triangle of GWD armours) whilst Sara gets a x-bow and Bandos and Arma and Nex of course get the helm/boots/gloves/shields they are 'missing' In fact judging by what info we have I'd expect Sara to be the quietest because they seem to be getting the least new stuff.Afterall assuming this mage set is not entirely wrong (but why should it the concept says 'new robes,' it has a zammy esque symbol on it, its red and black which are zammy colours and it looks in keeping with the zammy boss conept arts. Though it is feasible its concept for one of nex's mages, though why only the 1 when theres 4 variants for thoose guys? We ought to have for new drops, assuming the mage robe pans out: Zammy:Gloves, Boots, Legs, Body, Helm (and possibly a shield/book too to be in keeping with the 'complete sets' thing) Nex:Gloves x3 Boots x3 Virtus Wand and Virtus Book (though the book might not come yet seeing as it is the dual wield mage item, and the same could be perhaps true of the wand though Soloman already stocks a wand reskin so who knows!) Kaida23
The S.S. Botany Bay was the ship that Khan and his crew used to escape from an Australian penal colony in the orginal Star Trek series. It kind of looked like that and that's what Futurama was spoofing. btw - Botany Bay was also the planned site of an actual penal colony in Australia back in the late 1700's. 1 Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero.
