I suppose this is in-line with calling themselves Java gaming experts despite running away from Java because they can't make the game they want on it.

They changed it to "Just About the Game EXperience" a while ago actually.

So, lvl 5 agility for F2P...

Will they then be able to use the GE tunnel shortcut near the COMPLETELY inexplicably placed bridge north-east of Edgeville?

(Srsly, why is it there, a bridge to a hole in the ground? I dont think so!)

There isn't much content-wise that interests me this month. I am fairly happy with the f2p updates and combat rebalancing, though.

Yes. The house odds for flower games and even the old dicing games range from 12-20%. Much higher than casinos (1-5%) but still not scamming because of odds. People know the odds/risk when they wager.

So the question is, whats stopping you earning money using the SKILL mechanics of the game? Why is it once you've attained BILLIONS from flowers, you need to keep going until you cause players (amongst their stupidity) to keep going until they're broke for your gain? Not to mention like Omali stated, the bulk of "Gambling Clans" occupying GE and other locations on every server like you own the [bleep]ing virtual land.

The of course there's those who go even beyond that and make trial member spambots to advertise them even more?

Being a gambling host is the act of abusing people's greed/naivety to get them to stake their money against yours with a (significant) disadvantage. There is also a big difference between knowing the odds and risk. The latter cannot fully be conveyed with just "60/40" as the risk in gambling is not in the numbers of a single game, but in the addiction that causes people to play another. If "hosting" is not an outright scam then it is a parasitic exchange, but the act of taking advantage of the weak willed is morally abhorrent either way.

Gone are the days when an F2P player would stand outside Taverley's gates thinking "I wonder what's on the other side."

Honestly, I didn't even realize people still ran in software mode. I haven't been able to use anything but OpenGL and safe mode for nearly two years.

THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

The "We pay we say" mentality is old and I'm glad it's not the majority opinion in this thread. I've always been in favor of not just updating F2P, but slowly moving older content over to them. Fletching, KBD and Canoes should be made F2P for example as mentioned earlier. Plus, they really need to make a Cockroach King or Queen.

If this change (in addition to software mode removal) reduces number of bots on member servers, all the better.

This month certainly seems lackluster and relatively uneventful. I guess The World Wakes will serve (intentionally or perhaps unintentionally) as a cover-up, as all the excitement, the buzz, and the new unlocked slayer monsters will probably make the month seem eventful.

I am in agreement. Honestly though I think some of the other things in the BTS offer - at the least - some excitement. One of the major core values to EOC wasn't just actual interaction in combat, but diverse interaction. Though the inclusion of 12 basic attacks (4 per spec) is still subpar to my views as diversified its a start.

War bands on the other hand does sound like another one of jagex content concepts gone horribly watered down though. Then again we could see a way to skill at higher efficiency rates while taking time to be mobile and follow these war bands.

The introduction of the new Easter event styling makes me think that jagex might be taking a lesson from other games. One notable game and event is WoWs Darkmoon Faire. Basically the idea is the devs create an in-game lore based holiday. It's a great immersion technique because it makes the inside world seem more legitimate and realistically functional.

I get the feeling that 07scape reminded them of the days where run energy sucked.

I think warbands is an extension of the flash mob events, but exclusively in the wilderness, and with stuff that might actually be worth going to as far as trying to lure non-pkers into the wilderness so that pkers have more fresh meat to work with :P

To me, a big quest and the combat changes seems to make this a good month. However I had hoped we would get at least get some mentioning of when the new skill comes out by now...:P

Somewhere I believe a mod stated that we would get a slight teaser or hint from TWW. I think it was in one of those reddit conversation covers here.

I agree that TWW will most likely be a very good update, but it isn't really part of March. I also am excited for the new abilities, though in my view Range is pretty OP in EoC, whereas Mage badly needed something like this.

It was said by Mod Pips in some clan chat that the first of the new skills would be released in Summer.

Thing is, TWW was supposed to be released in Feb so I don't count it as part of March BTS planned updated. Yes I know at the end of a BTW that it says it's just a plan but I'm still counting it as a Feb update! :P

It's also a bridge that leads to someones house and an alternate path to the cooking guild.
