Sumpta
Honestly, I think it's luck of the draw plain and simple. My first two missions in the Hook were a 10k and a 10.5k req one, to my great horror.
Saradomin_Mage
Got a 7.5k combat mission, when I rerolled it another 7.5k combat mission showed up -.- Besides that, had: 4.5k double for 1 chi globe5.5k double for 300 slate6.5k morale (multiples) for 150 slate10k morale for 10 spice10k combat for 1 plate8k seafaring joint voyage for 2 plate Luckily got a hull upgrade so I can semi-push towards those figures, but I'm now sending a lot more voyages without 100% success. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
Birdd
I found my first day in the hook to be extremely easy, and I got all my deck upgrades and some new crew but the past 3 days have been ridiculous.. sending out 50-70's constantly, failed a little under half. Sucks because then I can't upgrade to pass them. [spoiler=Levels]

Urza285
...Someone tell me how it's possible that I 'ran out of ocean.' It's a reference to the edge of the world. On another note I've been giving a lot of thought to how the best crew load out would look like. My ideal current/end game set up would be something like this: 6x seafare6x combat6x morale3x trader (trade for 2 more solidarity at end game)2x solidarity Ill have one captain for morale, combat, and seafaring. Ill probably try for a fourth captain that is even ended. Maxed [February 14, 2012] | Completionist [October 25, 2012] | Trimmed Completionist [in Progress]Visit my Blog! strilmus
...Someone tell me how it's possible that I 'ran out of ocean.'Quite simple really. See, the sails don't move the ship; the ship stays where it is, and the sails move the ocean around it.

Demoli
How do you guys get those messages, I haven0t seen a single one. And from my experience, the difficulty on the Hook islands spike once you hit around 15% (single mission req jump to 6.5k from 4.5k singles and multiple req go to 3.5k from 2.5k each, special voyages have their own thing). Once I hit 26%, I also starteed getting 7.5k singles and 4.5k multiples, so there is definatly a correlatio between difficulty and completion rate. I'll finish getting 3 of each specific hook crewman and switch to Skull and arc to finish gathering enough gunpowder and bamboo for the Port Upgrades, I feel like I'm missing out on quite a bit of bonuses. Blofeld
Can't decide whether it's scaledor not. To me it deffinitely seems like it has been; my first day the missions didnt go much above 3000 and were very similar to the skull region ones. Now that I have 5/8 of the ship upgrades I've had rediculous requirements yesterday and today. It's not the single trait ones that seem to be getting higher, its the combined ones which have been creeping up each day. It could be random but currently for me it doesn't seem that way. Urza285
If it scales that means priority should be deck > crew > ram/hull > port buildings > rudder Maxed [February 14, 2012] | Completionist [October 25, 2012] | Trimmed Completionist [in Progress]Visit my Blog! Sy_Accursed
I don't think it scales other than hook > Skull > ArcMy missions have been totally random; sure there is a scale of difficulty within a given region but it doesn't seem to be progressing from easy to hard just luck of the draw. First day of hook I had mostly 8000 10000 missions, second day I had some 6000 and 4500, today I had some of each kind. What diffculty you get is purely up to RNG throwing out a selection of missions. 2 Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

Noobzy
I can hire a captain for 10,000 chimes: morale: 700Combat, seafaring and speed: 350 Do you think it is worth it? Kimberly
I hired a captain with base 300 stats for 2.5k, the only exception to that was his morale was 500. I don't know if that's really worth the price.

Kimberly
I'm in the Hook region, and got it with yesterday's reset....soooo if your area of focus determines what region-type captain you can recruit, then it was the Hook region captain. I dunno if that's right or not though.
Saradomin_Mage
Skull region captains cost 2.5k each and offer 200 to all stats and 500 to their speciality, whereas Hook region captains cost 10k and offer 350 to all stats and 700 to their speciality (I think) In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
