0:32 mentions slave trade. Really interesting side story in this. We mostly saw slaves in the desert areas, but now there is an economy around trading them. I wonder if this will lead to new quests.

If someone could make me a transcript or a rough outline to what they mention, that would be great as I cannot hear what they say due to me being partly deaf and hearing impaired.

Btw, PoP reminds me to "The Merchant of Venice".

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?~ Marianne Williamson

It's basicly a very high level version of Manage Thy Kingdom. You invest resources in upgrading your ship and hiring/equipping your crew and venture into the eastern lands to recieve booty.

It is a DnD style thing and each trip takes a whiel to get back, among the rewards are the highest quality food in the game and lv 85 gear. You will Require lv 90 in either Smithing, Herblore, Slayer, Prayer, Runecrafting or Crafting to access this piece of content or all of them for the 100% completion. Making the lv 85 gear will require 90Smith for Melee, Crafting for range and RC for Magic.

You can access PoP in Port Sarim through a portal.

PoP looks absolutely fabulous and I can't wait to spend hours on end just sitting down and trying to figure out the mechanics of it. Looks extremely strategic and like it'll take quite a while to find optimal stat combinations for each campaign.

With so much development time and effort it's no wonder they wanted to give as many players as possible access to it, and in retrospect I'm glad they made that design decision. It looks like it'd easily be one of the biggest updates in a long time, only second to EoC.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

The image at 0:27 is labelled Samuri armour at the bottom, potentially our new level 85 melee gear perhaps?

Really looking forward to this update, it looks like it'll be giving a huge amount of new content, and also looks like it'll be something that can be done for more than 20 minutes, we haven't had an update like that for months now.

also Mod Montare is creepily reminiscent of my dad >_>

By the looks of it we can have up to 5 ships eventually; hopefully there is 5 end-game (as it were) voyages worth repeating for profits/use (eg the 90 food one, a high herb one etc)

Dragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

Perhaps you'll also need resources from voyages to construct the level 85 armour after obtaining a recipe?

Thats already definite, what's unclear is whether it'll be worth the pay-off to do them with a view to profit.

Tradable versions of the armour are going to be slightly worse stats and be un-fixable.

Untradable will be fixable via materials or coins.

So it's entirely possibly it won't be cost effective to make the armour to sell and that it'll be cheaper to repair with pure coins.

Never mind the ships, which look amazing by the way, take a look at the stone-work on the docks -- the algae along the water’s edge, that is some really nice detailing … :shades:

I don’t expect all the dockworks to be remastered right away, but I’d assume that they will eventually upgrade them all in turn, much the same way they altered the trees all over the landscape.

It looks exactly like I was hoping it to be, a huge high-level update that finally rewards players for not solely training combat.

Really can't wait, have been looking forward to it ever since it was announced.

Also, as the melee armour looks to be styled after Samurai, I'm expecting the range armour to be Ninja themed.

Ooh ooh! and maybe the mage's armour will look like this?

I think with PoP we will finally see the "duration" aspect of SGS come into effect. Jagex will sell boat "speed enhancers", facility "construction enhancers", and other methods of speeding up the real time aspects of PoP. Following in the footsteps of the profit models of freemium games.

You make it sound like running through a few level 87 monsters is hard which it really shouldn't be at your level.

AUEFASKFDASG STOOOOP WITH THE PORTAL SHIT.

I'm so tired of magically going through a portal to be taken to this mysterious land-mass. I get it, magic is awesome. How about a wagon or a boat upstream instead? At least that's more natural to the landscape.

"Hah this is a dock. We don't need boats. Screw boats. You hear that Captain Tobias? [bleep] your boat LOLOLOL. We got portals."

"You'll be puttin' me out of business ye will, makin' a portal to Karamja!"

"Lol why would we do that? WE'VE GOT PLACES TO GO, [bleep]. You losers can still travel by boat. MAGIC!"

"But that not be makin' any sense mate."

"[bleep]!"

This leads to my new theory of everything: the universe is actually shaped like Swiss cheese, and every portal leads to a new pocket dimension. In the first era, wizards got tired of drilling into an alternate dimension every time they tried to mine for rune stones, and eventually decided that they'd just use portals for everything. At least that way, it would be on their terms.
