All those poor guys going for 120 DG, going to get screwed over by a level 12 divination door.

I was a little underwhelmed looking at the new graphics, from a texture point of view. I had actually been under the impression that they were globally improving all that, but obviously not. No matter though, because seeing just a few seconds of the game with an actual render distance (your render distance doesn't count when it's being beaten by Super Mario 64 several times over) has pretty much ruined the entire experience for me (in a good way). I thought it was difficult to look at the game in the little fixed screen box after HD, but that is nothing compared to getting rid of that blasted fog. I also have a soft spot for water shaders and textures. Like, a real soft spot for them, and while I can still remember the HD ones being a bit of a wow factor for me (actual wow, not the game), and I still like them, I pretty much squeeled when I saw reflections, though the terrible reflection resolution does put a bit of a damper on it. I do hope that can go up to a non pixelated level of detail.

Also, with Stev. That super bad FPS is not confidence inspiring, since that is presumably coming from a local or in house server where latency better not be an issue, and on a pretty decent dev computer that I would assume blows mine out of the water.

When they showed the Polypore area, I was a little disappointed to see that only close monsters are drawn still. I'm sure there are technical reasons, but if the draw distance of the world is increased, why can't Jagex allow NPCs and players to be seen from a greater distance too? I'm guessing the only reason is to keep the amount of data sent from server to client low, perhaps? I believe the RS servers only send data about nearby entities such as other players and NPCs within a rather small square range around your player.

They could at least make other entities fade in and out if they insist on keeping the range low, rather than 'popping' in and out like they currently do.

Regardless of that fact, it's looking good.

To hell with humanity;

The more I see, the less I believe.

Hmmm, I hope they keep the effect of RuneSpan, the drawn distance with the red colours on the third level is something I kinda like.

We already have a bit of DA lore.

I wonder if they are going to incorporate this or simply redo it.

As the size of an explosion increases, the number of social situations it is incapabale of solving approaches zero.

Ensure you are not a social situation.

Knowing Jagex, redo ofcourse!

The only good thing about runescape3 is that the game actually has better graphics than WOW.

Who could have imagined that 6 years ago?

"Only?" Not the faster loading times, the customisable interface, the audio rework? They're not good things?

I'm actually pumped about more fully orchestrated music more than the graphical stuff. We need a return of the main theme music, but done properly.

Need I remind you we still have WIP EOC in runescape 3.

We will have a bazillion bugs that will make it through beta.

And more than likely it won't work for alot of people period even after its released.

This is Jagex not Blizzard, remember.

I do remember, and at the rate you're making wild predictions like this people are just going to call you out over it.

Besides, surely you admit that faster loading times, a customisable interface and an audio overhaul is a good thing? That's what I was asking.

It's not a wild prediction.

It's more like pointing out a long standing trend.

I won't even take credit with I told you so after the first series of game breaking bugs at launch.

He just successfully trolled you with "courtesy" and managed to get a reaction out of you. Lol

New teasers are up. Looks like the minigame update is as planned. Yawn.

4 different pictures of a single player holding a wand. How can this get any more exciting?

From the empty days of hope, deny the darkness

And live forever, forever in the sun

Can someone post these pictures? Oh it's probably the charm sprite hunter revamp. Yeah nothing fancy in my book, but mosty needed.

TBH charm sprites if they're made decent would be very nice. I've got a charm sprite task saved up!

Inb4 trimmed comp requires 10000 sprites gathered (without getting the charm rewards ofc) :D.

But yeah, charm sprites are actually pretty cool, it's just that the trees are in the way and the bushes take forever to respawn. If either one of these issues got fixed (I'm thinking the bush spawn rates/depletion rates) along with favourable xp rates, it'd be good.

The trees are only obstructive because they updated them to be more realistic lol

for me it adds to the challenge of aiming at them since the capture rate is 100%

Looks like the wand won't be getting graphical enhancements as capture count increases...

And probably no Slithtils pet either. :(

This is based on teaser pictures though, so maybe we will have them...

Thoughts on which quest is most interesting?

I clicked to vote for Gnome, because I prefer that they finish the older series...

Not voting for that, I want all three, this vote suggests we're only getting one this year (or ever).

I don't get how Jagex can be so cheerful about content that is way, way past due. It's as if they're counting on new players assuming this is all super quick and we'll be getting another vote like this every month, regular procedure, good content. More likely, there's ten months of dev time and Q&A before we get the concept art going.

Anyway funny video, like the piraty dude who's obviously not an actor :D.

I swear they said in one of their Q&A videos that all three were to be released this year but they want players to decide which one should get top priority.

I'm tempted to vote for the Dwarves, purely because we know it's the last one in the series and it'll be a GM quest.

There's also the chance that they may finally update the terrible graphics of the Dwarves.

Sylpheed.png

If that is the case, I retract my previous negativity. All three would be very good. I shall pretend you gave me irrefutable proof to improve my weekend.
