The End of the Endless debate! Scimitars VS. Battleaxes!

Featured Replies

Me and a friend of mine have been debating about this for quite a long time, so i wanna see what fellow Tip.It'ers have to say about it. My friend says scimitars are better than battleaxes since they are faster. I think that b-axes are better since they tend to hit higher numbers and give a better strength bonus (Not to mention that Dragon B-axe has better special than Dragon scimmy, IMO)...

So, help us end it once and for all, which is better?

Scimmy. By far. The extra power of the axe doesn't make up for the speed of the scimmy.

Scimmy. And that special is good for some things, especially in CW when you're fighting someone who's using melee prayer, you knock it right out if you hit em xD

Battle axes are too slow. Scimmy is faster, thus meaning if you can hit fairly high, you'll probably hit higher numbers in x amount of hits than the b axe does in that same amount of time.

I miss you all (Well, mostly my friends n stuff)

If you want to talk to me, send me a message, I check the boards daily. :D

i've always been for the b-axe. it hits hard, and i don't mind that its slow...the damage makes up for it.

i used to be b-axe now scimmy

its just faster and better

thanks to mitsubishi64 who made this sig

Scimitar by far is much better and useful.

Battle axes are really slow and don't really hit much more than the scimitar.

I prefer the long over both, just because of its impressive special. My favorite combo is Battle spec+Attack pot+scim.

Scim>Battle because

Speed>Power

The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132.

yep. go for the scimmy. the battleaxe hits high, but for the rune battleaxe (im f2p), it has really low accuracy. the r2h has good accuracy and really high strength. but i still like the scimmy.

Retired from runescape. I will be on every now and then though. :)

Scimmy, cheaper, faster, cheaper, easier to get, cheaper, and did I mention cheaper? Sorry for being so annoying, but scimmy= 30k, BAxe = approx. 50k?

i'd go for the scimmy and rune b axe is 40-45k

Scim. It's not too much of a damage difference, and it's a lot quicker.

With rune, I would pick the scimmy. But now that I have been testing the D battle axe, I enjoy it.

Wow, I always used the battle axe.

The battle axe can smash attack, which is a bonus against plates, which is what people generally wear(in pvp anyway). I kinda figured that would make a difference.

Long swords all the way for me!

Oh...this thread is about scimmies and battle axes  ?

Well,

Scimmy I think.

The speed is better then the power.

Atleast in f2p.

The special of the Battleaxe is quite good aswell.

accuracy doesn't depend on the weapon, but on ur attack lvls. i used to like the skimmy, for its speed, but then i got stronger, and went for a little bit of PKing, so got a battle ax. it all depends on wat u wanta kill. goin PKing, use battle ax, going to kill some beasties, scimmy. i currently have 1 of each, rune, WOOT!
