A new use for excalibur

Wow great tip, I'm definatly going to use this. Taking two seconds to bank, spec, and bank is worth it I think. And anyway you can take it out in the process of filling your pouches. Withdraw excalibur, withdraw all pure essence, click x, click excalibur then on three smaller pouches, then spec, click your pickaxe again, bank, put it away, get out more ess, fill up giant pouch, get more ess, then go. Not really that much more than what I was already doing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You can also get duplicates of excalibur, so you can just place it right beside your pure ess in the bank for quick access ::'

Might work, but most people who abbysal craft are worried about speed not safety. Otherwise they wouldn't use the wilderness in the first place!

If you use pouches, you'll need to bank twice anyway. The first time, take out an excalibur, and essence, get out of bank, use special. Then put everything in the pouches then bank the excalibur and take out the rest of the essence.

Might be worth trying; but as someone above me said, most abyss rc'ers care more for speed than they do safety.

i hope you didnt realise this recently. plus if its (i think) 10% added to def its 10 temporarly lvs. i havent read page 2 as i am what we call, "the lazy guy" back on topic, "IF" you could dual weild weapons (which most likely will neaver happen) then the excaliber could be a good usage, ex in 1 hand, pick in other.

I remembered in the very first post I stated the extra 10% def helps against ABYSSAL MONSTERS, not pkers. Pkers are another issue...

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

as it has been said... it takes a little longer, but really, it's just to withdraw it at the same time as you fill pouches, it's four clicks more, not really that much... but still, i don't really need it :P

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

could be good for lower level runecrafters

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

and as the bar don't recharge so fast, what about just boosting your defence every four trips, at the same time you change to a new glory... it would not take that long you know :P

all that hassle...it'd take seconds...store 1 ess remove excalibur, spec, put in bank remove one ess...thats gonna take what? 10 seconds maybe

99% of time when you get abyss pked, you die to magic attacks. Increasing your magic level by 10% isn't going to stop an ice barrage from holding you.
It will stop them from dds-ing you quite as consistently, and if you're really lucky then it might let you live to run away. But a hassle, and kinda hoping for too much considering how most pkers hit.

waiste? i mean RCing thru the abyss is not really hard... why waiste potions and time for excalibur specials. when you can just eat food occasionally.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Normal def potions sell in the Fighter's Guild for small amounts of coins.

Most people don't wear helms or capes and such when rcing. Most people wear generica.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is fine... but take into mind that a rune helm which costs 25K-35K increases your def by 35-50 (I dunno what it is), an addy helm does at least 30...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A defender gives you around +20 in def... and you can glory and pick up the bugger in time anyways if you die.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You could wear mith boots, black boots, or climbing boots. All of these give nominable boosts in defence that is more than 10. (well, except climbing). And I always drop my miths =/

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

rune gloves give what, +8 to def?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The legends cape gives +7 in all it's def stats.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

An emerald amulet (yes, they still exist) probably gives you the same + to defence.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

All of these give thesame boosts as taking the time out to special with that thing.

Just consider that.

If you wear all that rune defender, metal boots and stuff you'll be facing quite some magic defence penalties. Remember that you are suppose to be wearing good anti-mage armour. The extra defence from the special simply help against rangers, ddsers and abyssal monsters, which is not as important as your main threat when abyss rcing- which is teleblockers

Despite what all the invincible superheroes are on here are saying, that boost would be quite helpful.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A 10% bonus still makes a difference. Especially when you have a glory, full black and your pouches on the line.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It helps stop the spell from working, and it will help against DDS specials. It could be the difference between banking your items or dying outside the teller window.

using the bank to get the sword takes about 10 seconds. Unless your doing millions of ess, 10 seconds is not a lot.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

wont that 10 sec be ALOT?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1000,000 ess is like 33k trips

 

 

 

so you take 33k*10=330k seconds=5.5k mins= 90 hours .. thats alot
