only noobs say either.

If I have to, I use 'newbie' or beginner to refer to someone that has just started and doesnt know their way around.

"noob" is a stereotype of the internet. I cant believe people actually say it. its like a joke. a stereotype of a dork.

you know that south park episode?

where they all play warcraft and gain 50 pounds?

That is who would say "noob"....

Newb is someone who can't get by in the game properly. I usually help them.

Noobs on the other hand are annoying people who are too lazy to get by in the game, therefore they beg and use 1337speak to try to look cool.

To me, Noob is the usual INSULT. Not friendly or for jokes, an insult to those inexperienced or without much rs knowledge.

Newb is a more light term, which I often use for joking around with friends. A more joke-like term than an insult.

To me:

Newb or Newbie means someone who is new to the game and dosen't know much about it.

Noob is someone who is just plain stupid, thinks that he can do anything he want without paying the consecuences, thinks that he is better than everyone else, call you a noob because you do something that would help you on a fight...ect.

To resume the noob one is someone who is simply a jerk.

i hate both words, i never use them. srsly does it make runescape a better place to shout out noob to everyone you see? even if they deserve it? there is no point in saying noob to another player, its seldom justified, and its rather destructive. i never sink to the level of calling someone a noob.

i just cant stand that word. i can tolerate any other word but not noob/newb.

A newb, for me, is a player who was just let loose from the tutorial island, with little knowledge of how the game around him/her revolves and is thus forced to ask for directions and help. Usually walks away when ignored or politely spoken to.

A noob is a dimwitted annoying player turned to the dark side.

Doesn't walk away without inflicting verbal abuse to the person it is following.

A newb is anyone below level 30, and a noob is anyone who is annoying

Simple :D

Annoying as in someone who repeatedly bumps 6 months old threads for no reason :|

newb: some1 who is new to the game and is not very good at it yet

noob: some1 who's iq is lower than a pures defence...

I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"

walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come
