Ethical debates apply here exactly the same way as they do in the real world- the fact that this is a game doesn't really change anything, except that your unethical actions have an insignificant impact on people's lives, as opposed to the real world. That impact, however, doesn't change the ethical-ness of your actions.

I won't say that my methods are traditional merchanting methods, but to say they are unethical just shows you are quite uninformed about the Rares market. There's nothing wrong with bluffing, because if you get called, you're gonna lose your chips.

On the official forums people make all kinds of fake offers and trades without consequence. That was core to the whole manipulation wave (yes, I still call it that) that really ended my days of being involved with the market. You can say it only was different - not unethical. I just always saw it as being very deceptive.

I never claimed you specifically made fake posts. I said in general anyone can bluff, which really screws up the market, since nobody really knows what people are paying. That's not something you did, but I consider that being deceptive in the same way as making the state of an item seem different than it really was. But again, the thing about ethics are that everyone has different opinions. We could completely disagree and neither of us could be wrong, because ethics are based on within and can't be objective, so there's really no point going over for the millionth time what happened in the past.

I found it interesting that you raised the prices. I once had a green mask, but lost it to a friend who ran off with it. I can't wait til I make my goal, 15 Green masks, 15 Blue masks and a green Partyhat. I know this will take forever, most likely one year or two, but, none the less, its still a big goal.

I have a question, you being an economic legend and all that. I recently purchased a santa, however, I don't know whether to downgrade to a green mask, as it seems logical that masks are rarer and will therefore overtake santas in the price region. Currently, santas are above masks in price, but I am unaware how long this will last. So do you think I should sell up or no?

You guys should stop flaming. R2-pleasant is a brilliant runescape player. He was smart enough to figure out the market system and manipulate it in such a way that he was able to profit from it. This is a HUGE feat and I admire the ability to think that through and apply it effectively.

I do. Fanatics like him who spend hours on the forum making fake offers and new threads exclaiming how they got inside information that whips are now rarer are grounds for at least forum bans. Like Ares said, it's not hard to do that for a few hours, but why waste your time?

There is nothing wong with what you did, ethics dont come into it, you had the guile to manipulate prices by creating self contained trading organisations. Price fixing is common in the real world, you took it to the Runscape world i see no problem with this. Real world trading is a different matter but i will not sit in judgement of you.

When I saw the author, I was thinking "Oh, another revived thread..", because I haven't seen you post for a looong time. But I checked it out to see what it was all about. Wakka, you pretty much said everything that I was going to post. R2, I looked up to you as one of the richest in Runescape because of the ways that I would *try* to merchant, I thought that you had INSANE patience of getting that much money in a game. But not only that, but you would, and Duke too, make very long and lengthly posts about a bunch of mumbo jumbo that I wouldn't understand. So yea, I am sorry to hear about that ban. I looked up to you alot when I was "younger".
