Real life pictures - 3
I haven't posted a picture of myself in ages, so I decided to take one. I turned out looking a little blank, but it took my ages to get it on my computer, so I can't be bothered taking another. [hide=Deiophobus][/hide]

SAT and ACT
I took them last year, through my school. I actually took the ACT twice, I was convinced I could get a better score (I did, 28->31). I ended up doing better on everything except science, which I did 3 worse on. I ran out of time, and just put C for 1/4 of that section. I'm not fussed about it though, it's not like it's actual science, it's more like reading diagrams. I don't remember my SAT score.

Man kills two sisters, injures third.
I agree, I don't see why people are reacting so heavily to this. It was only two people, should we post every murder that happens? Sure it's sad, but this stuff happens..

UN body OKs call to curb religious criticism
I'd say the formation of Israel was pretty special treatment for them. This is a bad resolution, but I doubt it will affect me. And even if it did, I don't see the ability to insult religions as an important part of my life. Sure, you can go on about free speech, but I don't really mind.

Stuck on Sigma Notation Problem
Why do you have to use sigma notation? It would be easier if you used an integral. Take the integral of x^2+2, with your upper and lower limits at 1 and 3, respectively. The integral of that is (x^3)/3+2x, and using F(B)-F(a), you would get 38/3. I forget how to do sigma notation though, so maybe this isn't any help. edit: I should read the thread better, I didn't realize someone already posted this method.

Little Boy Father At 13 (After DNA Test, Not The Father)
I know, they're always so heartbroken when Maury tells them they're not the father. [hide=Like here][yt]_a8w-XBXcac[/yt][/hide]

Are animals intelligent?
I have to call your opinion biased. "Were white so we are unparalleled by any other skin color." That's an awful comparison, it's a scientific fact that we are the most intelligent species on the planet (that's know, at least). That said, I don't think animals are completely going on instinct. I know my dog learns to do things very quickly, or how to get past certain problems.

How do people not get a headache watching Fred's videos? Maybe it's just me, I have a very strong aversion to any high pitches, but still..

American Congress Passed Mandatory Service Bill
Hehe. In Finland at age 18+ you either go to the military for 6-12 months, community service for 12 months, or the police issues an arrest warrant & takes you to prison for 6 months the day you start skipping service. Some kids complain about it, but it can build character for some people who are still undisclipined/too childish to yet enter the workforce after school. For emotionally mature people it can be hell though, I expect that now that a similar law exists in the US, exceptions will be made for people such as college/uni students who already have jobs. In Israel/China where universal conscription exists as well (mandatory service isn't equal, but still), people with high societal positions/important jobs can be exempt. My Finnish teacher once told me that recently kids trying to be "gangsta" were choosing prison instead.

In-Crowd or Out-Crowd?
It's that, and also the English version of high school. High school age can be from 13 at the youngest generally, to 19 at the oldest.

In-Crowd or Out-Crowd?
Maybe you should go back in time and kill James Dean, then there wouldn't be any teenagers.

Scariest Dreams
Something like this happens in my dreams occasionally, and it's pretty damn scary. I have a fear of any open water really, so those are probably my scariest dreams. Aside from that I don't often remember my dreams.

In-Crowd or Out-Crowd?
There isn't really an "in-crowd" or an "out-crowd" where I go to school, everyone is pretty friendly with everyone else. But if I had to say, it would definitely be out-crowd. I don't talk to or hang out with people.

Ode to another country
I'm from England, and live in the States, but I don't much like either of them. Ever since I took a Finnish language class three years ago I've really been interested in that country. I went there last summer, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. That's where I wish I was born. Lent, I remember a few years ago my school had a "multi-cultural" day where each class presented a country's culture and food, and one class did Sealand. Their food was spam and crackers.

Not that much of a deviation in the charts here.

What defines a Chav?
Those were different types of gangsters really. But I agree most modern "gangsters" are pathetic.

Quitting Smoking.
You don't get dependent on cannabis like you do on nicotine. It's habit forming, but not addicting.

Do you believe in the supernatural/occult/aliens?
I do not believe in ghosts, but I am open to the possibility. I can't completely dismiss something that can't be understood. But until there is evidence that they do exist, I must conclude that they do not.

What do you think happened to Osama Bin Laden?
Has anyone here seen "Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?"? It's the guy from "Supersize me" traveling around the middle east talking to people about Islamic fundamentalism. It was interesting to watch, if only for the locations.
