The F2P General Discussion Thread
There's an even better way of checking if an account is banned, inactive and has to be taken off the hiscores. Check to see if they logged in for x-days and/or being banned. Removing all F2Pers from hiscores is like a full-body cast for a thumb. To this day I stand by the fact that removing F2P hiscores due to bots is just the tip of the iceberg.

F2P Dungeoneering Rewards Post-EOC
Been saving up tokens since I first started levelling dungeoneering. The only thing I bought was a gem bag to gain some bank space, now I have 42k tokens, and am willing to go DGing for more. The question I have is: what is the best reward for me? I'll list the options that I might buy, even if it is remotely possible that I will, along with any information pertaining to changes I have heard about, and personal info that is relevant: Twisted Bird Skull Necklace: I don't bury bones often enough to make this thing worthwhile. Coal Bag: might be worth it if smelting is actually profitable, however I personally use Artisan's Workshop to smith. Longbow Sight: Currently, sighted magic longbows are bugged and are still P2P, however this looks like a decent option. The problem that I have is that I really don't need the extra accuracy given by the sight. Gravite Weaponry: I don't PK, so I'm not sure if gravite is a wise investment. For training, it's still as bad as always. Amulet of Zealots: helluva expensive, for only a temporary boost in damage that I probably won't use. Has it been made worthwhile? Law/Nature staves: last I checked, using these would give you a return of only 4 gp or so per cast, or even loss of profit compared to using a fire staff (for high alchemy). Have things changed? Tome of Frost: I've been eyeing this item for a while, however the recent changes to staves means that I have to choose in between this tome or a staff to save runes, which is a questionable advantage now that spells are so cheap. Stat-wise, it has only 2 damage points more than the bat book. Arcane Blast Necklace: Haven't heard of any changes to it, but I hear it's great for some extra damage when training, especially now that mage combat training is worth it again. Scroll of Efficiency: Again, I use Artisan's Workshop. If normal smithing is better xp/gp used, I might consider it. So what do you guys think? Right now I am looking at a Sight, and the AB Necklace, but I don't know if tome of frost is actually worth more.

20-Nov-2012 - Evolution of Combat: Now Live!
DV is F2P, isn't he? F2P'ers don't have access to antifire potions. Of course, there's also only one dragon in F2P, and as far as I'm aware she's still broken. Yes, I am indeed F2P! The Anti-Dragon Shield has been my defensive mainstay for years now, and it's worse than appalling that Jagex has gone and taken it away, as it leaves me without a shield I know and trust to keep me safe. :( On other notes, it isn't the only thing making me want to leave. The fact that Jagex has [bleep]ed F2P over for 7 years in a row now should also be a good indicator of reasons that I would want to leave. Plus, there are a whole slew of extra things that have been turned problematic by the introduction of the EoC, including non-listening controls. In fact, the only reason I haven't left yet is because I've got nowhere to turn the next time I stress out. That, and the fact that I've already come back due to that problem quite a few times already. :wall: ~D. V. "Jagex is too sticky a spider web..." Devnull How about you use an even better batwing shield with that new batwing wand? All with your lovely, just-threaded bat robes. You'll be like a purple batman, but with actual superpowers :P . And D.V. Look up. Things are getting brighter. We actually have rune arrows. Best update all year.

Shin Splints
How long have you had shin splints? From what I remember about shin splints, the only real cure for it is rest. If you really need put force on those tendons on your tibia and you can't rest, then try to see if you could get somebody to give you a shin splint tape job, but that is just temporary.

What are you listening to right now!?

It doesn't feel wet anymore, and got the iPod working again with only minimal freezing (which is normal for mine), not sure how much the rice would help. The volume up button on the side still doesn't work, but the volume down does. Also, the iPod doesn't want to charge, and I've been looking for my old charging cable everywhere to no avail.- Today...
- Behind the Scenes: Special Edition
Oh look, everyone is so excited about this. Let's see how many rage topics pop up when people start feeling nostalgic for old RS.- Detached Head Bug?
That's trippy. I would love a cosmetic like that.- "I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I don't think your friends will really care. As long as you're not the obnoxious one, they won't even notice.- 13-Nov-2012 - Dungeoneering XP & Gravestones
Looks like dungeoneering xp tripled for me. what used to be 700 xp for a floor is now 2100 xp or so for a floor (yeah, I got a low dungeoneering level...) At least, I think it is.- NBA - 2011-2012 Season Discussion
*cough* NBA season started a while ago *cough* Triple overtime yesterday between Raptors and Utah. Sad I had to miss it, ended 140-133 with Derozan of all people carrying the Raptors. Also, now that Mike Brown isn't coaching the Lakers anymore, Lakers are now on a two game winning streak (against less-than-average teams, but that's better than 1-4). Finally, Knicks are undefeated. I repeat, the Knicks.- Well Known RWT'rs banned.
When the relatively small number of people affect the majority, yes. The trade restrictions didn't fully stop RWT, but they mitigated it. Instead of seeing massive groups of yew botters, RWT botters had to rely on people trusting them with their accounts. This reduced the client base of RWT companies, while also reducing the amount of acounts online at one time botting. As a person that has made most of my money by doing the member's dirty work and gathering resources, botters affect me by mining, woodcutting, and fishing resources much more efficiently than me, reducing the prices that I could sell my items for. Also, free trade has affected me by allowing merchanters to dictate supply and demand and allowing prices to rise and fall much more rapidly (while they gain money consistently), meaning I have to be more careful about when to sell, instead of just leaving my items on the grand exchange and selling it then.- What exactly did I return to RuneScape for..?
People are still bound to fault the creator. Alfred Nobel never intended dynamite to be used in warfare, yet it happened, and people wrote obituaries of him when they thought he died condeming him for the invention of dynamite. That is simply trying to find a scapegoat for the faults associated with the product. Sure, the designer might be blame-able for giving us the option, but ultimately we are the one that chooses to use it the way it is. We are probably equally as guilty for misusing/using it as the inventor is creating it, but it is often much easier to just blame it on the creator rather than every individual user/abusers. We're getting a bit off-topic here, so I won't argue past this post. A person's view on this subject depends on which side of the fence they are on. A person might look at the surface and blame it (such as blaming the gamblers), or they could look at the root of the problem (such as Jagex allowing the environment to develop) and blame that. It is subjective, with neither viewpoint being wrong, yet either one can be believed to be "more right" depending on what is the general consensus.- What exactly did I return to RuneScape for..?

Does freedom work? If not, there's really no defense against it. Asphyxiate in general is pretty game breaking. Each hit from asphyxiate counts as a separate stun, I believe. Anticipation prevents stuns for 10, but I'm not sure if it can be used while stunned. If not, then the only way to prevent an asphyxiate is to pop Anticipation the moment the enemy mage hits 50% adrenaline. On a different note, I can't believe people still bother calling others "safer" for eating to full. You are always one stun away from getting killed. Asphyxiate>stun>torture>omnipower and you're dead. EDIT: Oh yeah, and Single-Way Wilderness looks to be a bit buggy. Enemy monsters can bypass SWW for a couple of seconds. The last one that attacks you then becomes your single-way target.- The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
Does anyone know of a way to take out a mage using Asphyxiate? My three deaths so far have all been because a mage brought me from half health to zero before I could eat. Also, I hate it when Overpower misses. And sucking at hybriding.- The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
If I knew that saying "Needs Improvement" would make Jagex think that the EOC is ready, I would've chosen "I don't like it". Really, all my life, someone saying that something "needs improvement" always meant "it sucks, but I don't want to hurt feelings". However, I genuinely believe that the system is a massive improvement, just not how it is right now. Momentum training is still not worth it.- How many RuneScape originals from 2001 are still here?
