I don't understand why you would even recommend thieving/pyramid plunder. You absolutely need food for either of them (unless you're planning to steal tea or something) From your stats, -WC/Fletching/FM - you can figure that out -Fishing - you can fly fish at barb village (you can add me so I can get you some feathers + rod) -Mining - power mine iron -Agility - something that you can't fail at would be your best bet -Hunter - go catch red sallies, all you really need are nets + ropes which are extremely cheap

I mean if we limited the help and advice to questions that are only asked once, there would be no reason for the help and advice to exists. There are a few questions being asked over and over: -how to make money? -how to dungeoneer? -what are good slay tasks? The whole point of H&A is to get answers to questions that you may have. Regardless of if they're easy to answer or not. Nobody is asking you to reply to a question, and if you're getting frustrated - just let them do what they think is best. --- TBH, lots of people ask easily answerable questions. Even you - you asked what tree seeds you could plant, where to plant them and how much exp they gave. You couldn't figure out to look up the farming guide, look at the location of the patches and multiply the exp they give for checking health by 2.7? Are you trying to say that this couldn't be answered via google? That it could be counted as help or advice? When all it warranted was: Tip it>Skill Guides>Farming? Followed by simple multiplication?

If it's bxp and you're going to be doing skillables asap - you probably just want to check health and move on. Not much sense in banking, and waste your time cutting/replanting trees/etc

TBH, the gold coming into the game is probably mostly high alching Monsters don't drop very much gold and usually people don't even pick it up. I guess some people sell their gold bracelets or whatever to the Rogue trader and that's also another albeit small source of gold.

Waterfiends are weak to crush... Rapier time!
LitterBug replied to Powerfrog's topic in Data and Research
This last trip just got me the charms needed for 96 Summoning on Bonus XP so I doubt I'll ever go back to wfs since I plan on getting 99 Summoning naturally from the charms for 89-99 Slayer. I plan on cancelling wfs on the way there since I don't need the charms and I despise them for all the attention and effort they require. Though, I might change my mind if I find the Iron Titan speeds things up a lot more. If anyone cares, my last wfs task I used SS and used the same set up I did in my original post except I used Overloads instead of extremes (Was trying them out, just had gotten 93 Herb) and got 250 Crimsons. So at your stats, SS is about as fast as rapier and so CM should be better? -
Consistent World/Friend Chat/Clan Chat for Pest Control?
LitterBug replied to Blutters's topic in Help and Advice
^ Getting on novice worlds aren't half bad. Since you need about 500 wins (1k tokens), you'll get enough for almost another set of full void. TBH, even in botted worlds - I can win almost 95% of the time. Just look at what the situation requires: -90% of the time, you can just clear monsters and go for portals -10% of the time, the monsters bunch around the void knight I find taht it's probably most helpful killing the defilers first as they're pretty accurate Let the fat things block for the void knight Bring a spec weapon (like claw or something/GS's even) and rape portals -
w.158 is almost always full? I'd get on if I can't sleep to suicide a few and it literally takes like 10-15 seconds in the waiting room to start. Problem is, you get no tokens (not that you would ever use them for anything useful)

Amduseias' little guide to everything Runescape (WIP)
LitterBug replied to Amduseias's topic in General Guides
Not that it's amazing how much time you put into it - but these are way too long to read. It's just huge walls of text and I don't know how many people would put their time into reading each specific guide. TBH, these guides are really nice - but, a more specific, detailed guide would probably be read more. Maybe pick a few of these, throw on some pictures - provide values/data and it would be great. It might just be that your target audience is not somebody just playing RS but probably those that are a little more familiar with it. Specifically - for woodcutting, -there are now MUCH better ways to earn xp then just cutting willow -look into cutting teak, using an adze, urns + power dropping -juju hunter potions are nice as well for fletching, -it seems like you're using outdated methods -there are much better ways to train fletching (i.e broad arrows) -
02-Sep-2011 - Bonus XP Weekend - 9th to 12th of September
LitterBug replied to Jacks0n's topic in General Discussion
There are several grenwall bots out right now, so I'd just dump them @500 before prices crash further. I have heard reports of people leaving offers for spikes in at 100 each and having them actually fill. I refuse to believe they will stay at 500 gp or less for good. Making extreme ranging potions is some of the absolute best herblore experience in game. Much more exp per hour than making any of the other extremes. Not only are they more exp per potion, you can also make 27 pots per inventory. It should cost more than making any of the other extremes, but with grenwalls this cheap it actually costs less. If the best herblore experience is also the cheapest then it will not take long for everyone to start training herblore that way and then suddenly there will be large demand for spikes again. That is just my logical guess though. I'm an actor not an economist. Although extreme pots are untradable - they have value to. Who only wants 5k extreme range pots? -
Hunt dragons - now is a pretty good time to do so. You can always use the dbones for altaring - but the dragonhides sell for a good amount at the moment.
-
Ourg bones are cheaper and give more exp then Dag bones. However they're 16.79 gp/xp while frosts are 19.05 gp/xp. The difference is close to 200k an hour in prayer exp
-
If you want to save money - you would actually do it via dragon bones. Think about it this way - it takes ~4.8 hours of offering big bones in order to equal one hour of offering dbones That would mean at any income >1mil an hour - you would be better off offering dbones. (Realistically - you're going to be spending more then 4.8 hours of big bone offering to equal 1 hour of dbone offering) Now for the "fun aspect", I don't see how anything can be less fun then -teleport to house -open door -light marrentil -offer bones I mean if you have any sort of goals - the idea should be to complete them as soon as possible. If you're spending all day offering bones, you're never going to get to do any of that stuff you want to with 95 prayer anyhow.
-
They have been historically low lately so they are better than usual, but if you are big on saving money while you get to 95, Big Bones still have a much better cost ratio. That being said, if I had the money to afford using Dragon Bones, I would. Given that the OP has 90 summoning - he can only get war torts. So the exp per hour he can achieve is even less then the maxed out "~72k xp per hour" Big bones is an EXTREMELY bad idea. Dragon bones are ~12.5 gp/xp and Frost bones are ~19 gp/xp" You should always be choosing between one of these two. Note that dragon bones/frost bones GENERALLY sell for less then GE median so you'll actually end up paying a little less then you would.

You can grow torstols if you boost your farm level, yes. And growing torstols = $$$$$ They're not as good as they used to be. Also, the BXP price changes have made them pretty bad for money making. I usually do lantadymes (pretty good gp - comparable to snapdragons) Unless I'm doing something where I can remote farm and check that I can cure all my plots. These past week or so - I've been checking torstols prices and they're about 7.2- ~8 torstol per seed (cost wise) Meaning if you get to lose even one seed, you might have a negative return (40 herbs in 5 patches?) The scroll of life is a nice surprise, but I doubt it activates 1/10 times.
-
I would much rather save those 5 minutes of 2.7 xp time and use them on a different skill. -Say crafting, you can easily get 300k an hour, or 25k every 5 minutes. A 1.7 bonus is pretty significant. Farming herbs would take at LEAST 5 minutes -you would have to bank -you would have to run to trollheim (unless you unlocked the spell) -the herbs would have to be all alive -you would need a decent number of herbs to be picked (gf if every patch is yielding like 4-5 herbs) -banking again after So in total, it's more like 7+ minutes wasted going no a herb run. It's not totally significant, but if you plan well - herbs can be farmed every 75-90 minutes (or something) However trees take like a day (sometimes more) to farm and that's if they all survive, etc, etc.
-
That's a ton of cballs used to get those 4 imp kills :P Apparently all rates are 1/5000 (remember researching these a while ago and some mod said something to that effect)
-
DG basically released a set of ground breaking items. It's a really amazing skill and for: F2P - it unlocks gravite 2h P2p - chaotic weapon/arcane streams/blahblahblah There have been a bunch of new quests and it seems like the rewards have been getting better and better. P2P basically gets all the updates/nice things (and speaking of - this friday-sunday is bonus xp weekend)

I followed this guide but I felt that using the spot closer to the water (the first spot he used to the NE) was better. But do get witchdoctors clothes as it does make everything a lot easier. Also, if you're not getting enough spawns - just keep to the same spot. Sooner or later - the spawns/jadinkos will adjust themselves so that they start spawning right next to you/r traps.
-
:( I'm not exactly sure what your problems are but are you catching them at a slower rate then before? For your herblore habitat camo - it should only be witchdoctor gear. So for now, the best thing to grab are just an artic bear (and if you want to smoke your own trap - feel free) I would just start gathering vines + seeds for higher level hunter. It sucks now but there's no way around some of the requirements you need if you want higher exp/hour later (for hunter as well as other skills) Some of things that you should get: -juju farming pot -juju mining pots -juju hunter potions -juju scentless potions -zamorak's favor (just grab these when you're searching for Zamorak Jadinkos when going for the witchdoctor)
-
Like everybody said, don't waste your time on the herbs/bushes Would you even do calquats?
-
Well, if you want to worry about a nice supply of pots - don't care about the exp but rather about the potions you need. For me, I did 2 hours of pheonix feather gathering (start off with larupia --> teleport --> eagle transportation --> steal --> bank) I don't really use spec. restores - but I guess you would start using them when you're bossing (but that's a lot further down the road) -They're pretty cheap exp (14.75 gp/xp atm) so I would probably make 500 or so -You probably won't use much more then this and it's going to be a while until you're even going to use these For my extremes, I calculated how much it would take from 96-99 using only overloads and you need 3,350. So - what i did was, I made 3000k of each extreme and stored it in my bank to use for ovl The rest of my herblore exp, I got making extreme atk/str for slayer. 3k Ovl is a lot - but once you have them, everything gets a lot easier. A lot of people worry about the costs but once you have the pots - you could use them for: -slayer -dg -boss hunting

Question about degrading equipment (Chaotics, mainly.)
LitterBug replied to Powerfrog's topic in Help and Advice
You heard them wrong. They do say it is per tick how many times you are attacked. No it's if you're attack per tick. I.e: -you're getting attacked by 100000 enemies -you're getting attacked by 1 enemy the max charge you can loser PER tick is the same. Except that when you're being attacked by a lot of enemies, youre going to be attacked EVERY tick. And chaotics are much cheaper then cballs. It makes more sense to recharge the chaotic with tokens (assuming you're goign to keep dungeoneering) then with cash alone. -
100k? I always have them buying You're going to need the shards anyways and the buy limit is every 4 hours
-
I'm not entirely sure how the GE works but when you get something on loot share - what happens? I highly doubt the price you get is the price somebody has a buy offer for. That seems to be it pretty much. There are some more minor costs involved: -Buying stuff from general stores (out) -Paying certain npcs (for quests or whatever) (out) -Tanning hides (out)

Grenwall Spikes.. BXPW.. HELP!!!!
LitterBug replied to ImDustinHoffmanIRL's topic in Help and Advice
Am i confused? Grenwall prices have been going down drastically (I can only imagine due to bots) After BXP, I see no reason for them go to back up ?
