It's a good video and I love the effects. What everyone else said applies as well. However, I was a little bit turned off by the "one hand behind the back" fighting style. Even if the saber hilt was small like Palpatine's, fighting with one hand behind your back just seems so out of place. There's a difference between the fan video's one-handed style and Dooku's one-handed style, for instance. I've read a lot of Star Wars books (surprise, surprise) and usually people aren't too concerned about having the other hand in a certain spot, like this guy here, lol. Maybe I'm just being too analytical though. :P Pretty fun video. Are they making any more?

Forum Rule Changes
The_Sith replied to The_Sith's topic in Announcements, Rules and Security Warnings!
No Signature Selling - Effective Immediately We're sorry to do this, but Jagex is cracking down on sig selling. So, effective immediately and until further notice, we will not allow signature selling for RS items/cash on the forums. I'm really sorry, but its for your own protection. We'll try and work something out and let you know if this changes. -

Rather than trying to find loopholes or clever ways to trick your parents, sit down and think about why they are saying "NO." They've known you your entire life--maybe you've squandered money in the past on material things you later are bored with. Or maybe you're too spontaneous and will soon find out that you don't need a new computer but rather you need to pay for school books. Or maybe you play the computer too much as it is and they are worried about you playing it more. ;) I think this "persuasion" is something YOU have to come up with--not some random strangers who don't know a thing about you. We don't know you or your parents or your situation. The best thing to do is to think and talk with your parents about it. Maybe you can come up with some sort of compromise or at least an understanding of the situation.

Your title is way too harsh to be constructive. Jagex provides many security measures to prevent scams and hacks including complex recovery questions, the new bank PIN system, etc. They've provided more security options than I have seen on other MMORPGs. Your computer security may not be up to par as you can't "randomly" be hacked without having visited a bad website relating to RuneScape cheats/etc., having outdated security, having sent a response to a scam e-mail, etc. First step? Fortifying your computer and become more security aware. I don't think hacking is fair at all so no one is blaming you for what has happened.. but there is simply no way you can be hacked out of the blue (and it certainly is NOT Jagex's fault). Second step? Believe it or not, scammers troll our forums and look for people who decide to leave their e-mail viewable to everyone. Why do you think we take such measures regarding scam e-mails? Turn your profile e-mail option OFF and don't advertise your many methods of communication. Doing so makes you easy prey for scammers. Again, sorry for your loss but hopefully you can prevent this from happening again. (Oh, and don't post RuneScape-related topics in Off-topic)

A staff member locks the thread and then proceeds to post on it with a message about why it was locked. If you don't see one right away, wait a little while or private message an administrator. Do not make another topic about it as it will get locked too. Locked..

This thread is about discussing Wow in comparison to RuneScape - not analyzing each class' weakness. Stop flaming each other and get back on topic. If you want to moan and groan about classes, go to the WoW Official Forums - there's always enough whining to go around there.

She hasn't logged on these forums since Mon Oct 31, 2005. I don't think she'll be receiving your private message anytime soon. I can't really recommend any methods of contacting her either - sorry. :(

A new vulnerability has appeared recently that allows dangerous files to be put in image files. Microsoft is currently working to fix this problem - they would not, however, say if they would have the problem fixed by January 10th, 2006. Here are some news items: http://www.finfacts.com/irelandbusiness ... 4361.shtml http://www.bangkokpost.com/breaking_new ... p?id=70706 http://www.microsoft.com/technet/securi ... 12840.mspx http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory?id=1466500 http://money.cnn.com/2006/01/03/technol ... tm?cnn=yes Until this vulnerability is fixed, ALL images - PNG, GIF, JPG, JPEG, WMF, BMP - are censored. All avatars are also turned off. We'll post when we have more updates.

Yup - you can have only two primary professions (Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Herbalism, Leatherworking, Mining, Skinning, and Tailoring). You can have all the secondary professions (First Aid, Fishing, Cooking). I'd say most (but someone will most likely contest this) MMORPGs these days have a monthly fee. People complain about it but that is the reality. Guild Wars is one of the more popular MMORPGs with no monthly fees but it is based around PVP only, while others offer more professions, skills, armor, etc. (Again, someone will contest this - I'm just providing my input :)) If you haven't guessed it by now, I play WoW (~5.27GB filesize actually). I don't think there is a comparison at all. But I do think RuneScape is a great game for what you pay - nothing, or five dollars a month. I could spend all day analyzing WoW as I love the game - I may not be the most knowledgable about it but I love talking about it. Is it worth it? In my opinion, yes. Some may wince at the 15USD monthly playing fee but I look at it like this: I left RuneScape for WoW. I cancelled my RuneScape membership (5USD/month). So really, WoW is costing me 10USD/month. I won't drag this thread off-topic anymore. I do suggest all those interested visit the World of Warcraft website and look at the Beginners and Game Guide - very informative.

Tip.It Homeworlds If you are interested in meeting fellow tipit users in-game then why not use one of our Homeworlds. The Tipit Homeworlds are an entirely optional way of meeting people who also use Tipit. The general idea is that the majority of Tipit users will use these worlds on a regular basis and this will hopefully increase the chance of them seeing one another in-game. The Tipit Homeworld for F2P is World 7 The Tipit Homeworld for P2P is World 99Using these worlds is entirely optional and i'm sure some people will have reasons for not using these worlds but knowing other Tipit users in-game will hopefully make a much more friendly community within Tipit. Tip.It Team Cape Want to easily be recognized by fellow Tip.it'ers? Then wear the official Tip.it Team Cape! The Tip.it Team Cape is: team 39 - Green.[hide=How to get your Tip.it Team cape!]All you need is 50 gp. If you are worried about dieing in the wild (not much of a problem anymore) then only bring the money! Here is a map to Simon: [/hide]

I don't have the technical expertise to be sure the file you linked to isn't dangerous but even so, I'm not too keen about having EXE's thrown around on the boards. Sorry but this topic is closed.

If you're going to make a post here, slow down, take a minute, and type with proper English. No one can understand you if you're using leet-speak or curses or whatnot. I also suggest reading the Tech FAQ as it helps to provide information when you are suffering from a technical problem.

http://forum.tip.it/privmsg.php?mode=post Click "Find a Username" - from there, you can use wildcards and can find users who have not even posted. I find that to be the most efficient method.

I'm sorry your life has become so hectic - I hope things get better for you and your family soon. I will keep you guys in my prayers! Best of luck in real life.

Stop posting scam warnings in the announcements section
The_Sith replied to Hannibal's topic in Forum Updates and Suggestions
The point of the thread is to make it available to everyone. People still don't know how to register or just don't know about it.. so by putting it on a board that ALL users can see (not just registered ones like General) and having the Community Box be updated when a new threat is spreading throughout the RS world, everyone can read up on it. If the only argument is that it is slightly "annoying" to see a new post icon on the announcement board, then nothing will change. Again... to those of you who have posted (and those who are in favor of the removal, I notice, do not play RuneScape actively), you cannot speak for those who DO want to know when a new scam e-mail is being sent out. Just because you find some announcements less interesting than others does not mean that those who benefit from our "guide" should suddenly find it unavailable. I think we're just making a mountain out of a mole hill. It is very easy to see on the main site what TYPE of Announcement has been posted - and most forum announcements are posted on the main site anyways. Feel free to ignore the Announcement Board if it annoys you so but I don't think that thread should be moved/removed/etc. -
Erm, not that I know of. Where is the "on/off" button exactly? I doubt they would continue to update Quick Reply hacks if all PhpBB boards had it. But yes, I do like the idea :)

I've moved your query to the Tech & Computers Board. This does not belong in Website Suggestions.

Heh yeah. Very good game, imho. I've played it off and on for awhile.. and may look into buying City of Villains. It gets a bit repetitive at times, but I really like it! I gave grin one of my 14-day free trials and he has also been hooked on it, haha. ;)

Removed the drug related content. You guys should know by now that we do not allow such material!
