Please take personal flames off this thread. If you must discuss what SAT scores you got and how well you did in Advanced Placement English, go ahead - in private messages. Otherwise, constructive commentary only. Well done, Magey! I absolutely loved this article! (I bet no one knows who I am in the story.) EDIT: To the person who replied - where does it say "no negative commentary" in my post? Your above commentary about SAT scores had nothing to do with the topic and was only meant to impress the other user who had flamed you. So ENOUGH - do not quote my post and analyze it, do not continue this flame fest. Stay on topic.

This was my first cell phone.. and I forget when I got that. Had to have been 3 years ago or more at least. This is my current, second cell phone:

I've been trying to cut back on Coca Cola. I hardly have any at home anymore; I drink it mostly when I go out to eat. Eat out at one certain restaurant every week and usually have two or three glasses there. Then of course there's eating out for lunch/dinner other nights.. Am trying to drink more juices (grape is my favorite) plus Juice Squeeze (carbonated fruit drink). Still have yet to drink as much water as I should. :P But because I still drink Coke and can't stand Diet Coke, I've bought C2 which tastes the same and is half the calories.

do you have a "home world"? or are you nomadic?

It is a third party client used to play RuneScape. If I were you, I would stick with the original, official client. Many people argue its legality but we disallow it here for multiple reasons, including the protection of our users. Here is a post by another administrator that sums it up quite well: And, of course, JAGEX's view of the program: But many people will argue the opposite. Anyways, just telling you our stance along with what it is. Am locking this since your question has been answered and there really isn't any need for discussion. :)

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (SPOILERS WITHIN)
The_Sith replied to Greatsilverwyrm's topic in Off-Topic
I thought it was good but it did seem to lack.. detail, if I can say that. It seemed unnaturally short, even though it wasn't exactly short compared to the first three. Just seemed to be something missing. Am leaning towards saying the 5th is still my favorite. I too thought the messages Harry kept receiving were extremely odd. It seemed like she had introduced this new method of communication very late. I don't recall random students handing Harry letters in the past five books. For some reason, this really struck me as odd. -
I'm considering buying a 12 inch iBook...
The_Sith replied to Legolover64's topic in Tech and Computers
You should be able to, I guess, but I've never thought of doing that - don't see the real purpose other than saving space (minimal, I'd imagine?). Anyways, I cannot offer any advice there. What I *can* recommend to any "switcher" is to immerse yourself in the Support Discussions boards: http://www.apple.com/support/ (Click Discussions) I found them extremely helpful - you learn a lot, meet some new people, and maybe get some answers to your questions like this one, lol. -
I'm considering buying a 12 inch iBook...
The_Sith replied to Legolover64's topic in Tech and Computers
1) It should - it might not be fast but it shouldn't freeze up. 2) It will probably play them. Will it play them well is a different question. UT2k4 worked fine on a PB 1.5GHZ G4 but it had 128MB VRAM. The iBook is not built for gaming (*points at graphics card*) and its main purpose it to websurf, do some video editing, MSOffice work, e-mail, internet, etc. 3) Basically yes but when you say light gaming, I do not think you will be happy at all with how Unreal Tournament/Halo runs. I haven't done it on an iBook but I really do not think you will be pleased. 4) If you need a Macintosh for video editing, web surfing, e-mail, MSoffice, etc., it's not bad. I would up the RAM to 512 at least as Mac OS X is known to run its best at 512+. If you are looking to game, I would not get this computer though. I'm not sure how intensive you are planning on using it, whether or not you will want a bigger video card / larger hard drive / faster processor. You may consider going with the Powerbook.. or if you want to game, just sticking with a PC. The $999 iBook is rough-and-tough and gets the job done for everyday things but it is not a powerhorse like the Powerbook. This is coming from my limited experience with Macs (two powerbooks, but am currently on a PC - game addict :)). I would think it over long and hard before making a decision though. -
I'm getting it from Amazon.com (guaranteed release-day delivery). I sped through the other one in two days or so, and will probably do the same with this one. I'm just listening to the fifth one (got it on CD as well) on my iPod now - I really like hearing it read to you as well as reading it. :)

Post pictures of your desktop! As usual, Bitmaps are not allowed. Please don't post anything with: scantily clad women, RS cheating programs (not that we're advocating their use, but if you do use them, and post a picture of it, you will be banned). Try not to post things where you're obviously using any kind of pirating software. If your desktop is larger than 1024x768, please upload it at http://imageshack.us and post the thumbnail link. Note: Due to the graphic-intensity of this thread, historical posts will be removed periodically.

You should be able to... Start > Settings > Control Panel Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components Double Click on Accessories and Utilities Double Click on Accessories Find Paint and make sure it is checked. (Unchecking means uninstalling) Before doing that, I would look at: C:\Windows\System32 and try to find "mspaint[Caution: ExecutableFile]" Otherwise, do the above.

I have played both Guild Wars and World of Warcraft. I have *not* participated in Guild Wars' PVP "side" so I cannot vouch for how good/bad it is (I realize now that this is the main point of your post, however I will continue to ramble on!) However, I got very bored with Guild Wars after a little bit - I kept remaking characters, the quests were boring, and in general, it wasn't any fun. It looks great.. but the content wasn't my 'style.' I got World of Warcraft.. and have been hooked ever since. The quests are unique, the graphics aren't as good as Guild Wars but I think they're pretty darn good!! It is just overall amazing - there seems to be more possibilities in it. It is a larger game. There are more skills, professions, armor, weapons, classes, races, places to go (map is gigantic..), means of transportation, spells (you can have an incredible amount of spells/food/items/etc. on "quick bars" - Guild Wars.. you can only have eight spells when playing (can change inside city) I hated that!!) I think Guild Wars has an emphasis on PVP, I suppose, but WoW's PVP is *nothing* to frown at. It is an incredible system that is very complex, fun, great to do in groups, etc. But, for praising WOW's PVP, I will have to turn to wistan (who I will poke now) or someone else.. haven't gotten into that too much lately so I can't say how good or bad it is. :)

I liked Jedi Academy (one step up from Outcast with a few other "nice" things to have - specials, etc.) One of my favorites for a *long* time was Rebellion - a Star Wars RTS with mostly space combat, and a sort of "Risk" type galaxy takeover game (terrible description! lol). Empires at War (coming Fall '05) is the newer version of it, it seems, except with ground battles too. :) Also had some fun with Force Commander but that got old pretty quick. Jedi PowerBattles I played on PS and had fun with that too, only I never got that far.

Thrawn was one of the Emprors Grand Admirals - in fact, the only non-human. He was the last one left ten years after ROTJ and basically used the remnants of the Empire's fleet to mount an offensive against Coruscant and the New Republic. The books start with this: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... s&n=507846 And go onto Dark Forces Rising and the Last Command (this is of Timothy Zahn's series - not the entire Star Wars "Saga") You can also read more about the supposed Star Wars movie after Episode 3 on MillenniumFalcon (a popular fansite for Star Wars). A big rumor site so I'm not saying that anything is guaranteed.. haven't read into it at all, just passing on the message.
-
Yup.. already rumors going around (some substantiated by talks with "people" who may or may not know what they're talking about) about finishing off the series, or just creating another movie. Quite possible, even though I remember Lucas saying he would not make any more after Episode 3. The day is near! I don't have midnight showing tickets (unfortunately) but am going on Saturday (a day or two longer than I wanted to wait). I can't wait!

I don't think anyone has falsely 'advertised' Trillian - it is a wonderful program and does what everyone says it does. However, MSN (the program I use most) also allows me to assign names (although I don't do it - I like seeing what people have in their nick) and also change a variety of other things. I have Msgplus as well but have never received any spyware/adaware as I declined to install the 'sponsor.' I use Trillian 3 for two AIMs, two public MSNs, one Y!, and one ICQ. It does what I need but MSN (for me) is much more comfortable. Trillian may have a lot of features MSN doesn't but I like MSN's custom emoticons, winks, looks, and also msgplus's features. It works for me. :)

I don't know where you got the idea for your topic title but consider this your warning: such titles, fake or not, are inappropriate and not allowed. Do NOT use such 'terminology' here again - this is a family friendly board.. we don't need to be seeing that. -_-

Search being fixed/rebuilt, change made to speed it up, didn't work - change reversed. :) Thanks for posting the queries here though, appreciate you alerting people of board errors.

We have now spent quite some time investigating this situation, and have decided to re-instate the features that were removed. This situation is extremely strange. According to Jagex, several staff and user accounts have been compromised, but haven't been used in game. This supposedly occured due to an exploit a user posted on these boards. We have been unable to confirm such an exploit, and since the exploit in question is so old very few systems are unpatched against it. Basically, most of you are immune to it. The strange thing is, that so should most of the people in question have been, yet it happened nonetheless. We have also done in-depth scans of the systems that were supposedly broken into, but we have found no traces of any Trojan or Keylogger. There has also been a rumour circulating about a user having used an exploit to extract databases from all the major fansites and then using them to access Runescape characters. Due to the nature of this supposed exploit we have no way to confirm that it did or did not happen, but it is indeed quite unlikely. Many of the people who were targeted by this claim to have used entirely different passwords back then, and should as such be immune aswell. Regardless, we have decided to, for now, disable all JPEG images on the forums. We are aware that this will be a hassle for many media boarders, but we believe this is for the best. This exploit may be old, but if Jagex are correct it is still affecting people. Security has always and will always be our #1 priority. So basically, we're at square one. We have no idea what, if anything, happened. The only lead we have so far is the information from Jagex, and even they know very little about what happened. We are still in looking into this matter, and we ask that anyone with any information regarding this contacts an admin as soon as possible. To sum this up: The Tip.it website or its forums have not been compromised in any way. We have also been unable to confirm the existance of any image containing an exploit on our boards on any other fansites boards. From what we have gathered, very few were affected by this. Tip.it strives to ensure the security of our users, and we will continue to be on the lookout for anything that could be causing this. Sorry for the inconvenience, the Tip.it admin team.

Guild Wars. Has a lot of potential. Played the Beta this weekend (thank you, Exarch!) and really enjoyed it. It doesn't have a monthly fee (good for me) and seems to be very fun. I am not too knowledgable about it but I suggest that people try it out - great graphics (big for me), good sound, good combat..
