  1. if youre ranging green dragons and avoiding getting hit, pkers cn really mess up your day. to me its better to melee greens because as long as they are attacking you you cant get attacked by pkers
  2. the only spells that never fail are alchemy, enchants, teleports and telegrabs. any spell that targets somebody else can fail
  3. i had suggested a separate forum just for money making questions, either a subforum of help and advice or a section by itself. it would hepl people with other game related questions find their info easier, and it would help people that want money making info to find that stuff easier as well, and then there would be less new threads asking how to make money
  4. they are fun to range, but a pain in the rear as they make you use up lots of food. full dragon with elemental shield and knives work nicely against them
  5. i think the idea with using slayer dart with barrows is that you get about 100 deaths from the chest on average, whether you get a barrows piece or not. you also get quite a few minds as well. so slayer dart is used because it pays for itself
  6. i think you can bring a knife. i believe you can also bring a branch from the dramen tree and cut it into a staff on the island, then use that to autocast spells
  7. coming to think of it, why isnt there a mind runes running company. all the runes made in f2p are easy to run for any noob. i think that now would be a good time to start one for minds, since its also a very popular f2p rune, and at level 42 you could make 4x, which would be a good incentive for crafters (who get a little more exp per ess) and runners, who get 100 minds per trip. the run from either edgeville or fally is about the same distance (except watch out for pkers using the edge route) and a little longer than the air route. but minds are in high demand the same could work for fire, earth, water and body runes. just needs somebody to set a designated f2p world, advertise it on forums enough, and pretty soon there would be an easy way for people to get runes and rc exp for any rune they want
  8. and nano, you were totally wrong and correcting the guy who was more correct than you. plus your sig is wrong, you cant fish swordies with a fishing rod. your avy should say "so totally wrong!!" lol j/k
  9. lmao leesters, i was just about to say "omg use the search u noob!!!11!1!" not sure about the god capes. i know you can wear regular robes, monk robes, not sure about wizard robes. the monks made me take off my gauntlets and climbing bots though, even though regular capes, boots and gloves are fine. no vambraces though
  10. sigh... as a crafter, you wear zammy robes and your law tiara, in your inventory you start off with a bunch of noted ess and 27 laws (or 27 unnoted ess you craft when you get to entrana). when a runner trades you, you give him the 27 laws and 27 noted ess, and the runner gives you 27 unnoted essence as a runner, run to entrana with no armor or weapons, look for the guys with the red robes and tiaras on. trade them and offer EXACTLY 27 unnoted ess, they will give you 27 noted ess and 27 law runes
  11. this is a lot of effort you put into designing this idea and presenting it. probably the best presentation in the entire forum. much respect for that. i'm a strong advocate for bank organization. check out my guide in my sig 2 things i would comment on. 1st, even with a new bank page update, and everybody being able to use all the features youve described here, this could become a blessing as well as a nightmare for players. it will take a player hours to organize their bank in a way that works for them, with all the settings and options. of course, once it is set up in the right way, its a super-useful system. the reality is, it actually takes a lot less effort to sort the bank the way it is now, than to sort it in the new way. and most people that normally dont sort their bank currently, probably will find it a headache to use the new bank page 2nd, most of the ideas youve suggested are already possible with the way the bank currently is. its no problem to "lock" an item into place. just have a duplicate of the same item and when you withdraw 1 the space is held and the layout is preserved. with a "lock item" option, what happens if you want to insert something into your item list. take for instance the new monkfish that heal 16. say i have tuna, lobbies, swordies and sharks, raw and cooked, in that order, and all are locked. now i want to add monkfish between the swordies and sharks, since i sort them in order of value and health they restore. it means i have to unlock my sharks, and everything else that follows, bait, rods, harpoon, etc, then put the raw and cooked monkfishes in place and lock everything back into the new positions. once an item is locked, it wont move to make room for inserting other items. with the way the bank is currently, i just have to insert the monkfish where i need to, and everything else moves over. locking an item to a position would defeat the "insert" function, if i understand your idea correctly personally, my bank is arranged in a way where i can find anything i need very easily, in a matter of seconds. most members who have been playing a while also organise their bank in a way that allows them to get what they need. those that dont organize their bank either dont have a lot of items, or simply dont care/lack the patience to sort their bank out properly. for them, this update will be no help. i'm not shooting down your idea, because its truly brilliant. the problem isnt the idea, but the change in habits that people will have to adopt to make the most of your idea. thats not something you or even jagex can control. so just bear that in mind if this does come out, be ready to make some long tutorials
  12. if its on the ground, you see "Take bones (3 more options)". if you right click on a bone on the ground you see "Take bones, Bury bones, Walk here, Examine Bones, Cancel" if its in your inventory, then its EXACTLY the same way it is now. the ONLY difference will be 1 more option for bones that are lying on the ground
  13. santa lederhosen mime mask pirate hat yellow party hat (looks like a gold crown)
  14. ever heard of grammer? lol post with your funny forums stuff --ganon95-- Grammar and correct spelling are two different things, he used bad spelling but correct grammar.. he did, but he wrongly referred to the quote as bad grammar, since the quote did use correct grammar but bad spelling (mostly typos) and bad punctuation (missing full stops)
  15. body runes, hands down. air runes actually give you the least exp per ess, body runes give you the most. and the body altar is now the closest altar to a bank in the game, since the barabarian village update. the cute little racoons will show you the way
  16. yeah i thought the guy was gonna suggest robes that give unlimited elemental runes lol. i guess the idea is ok, but not that great. i always thought those weird mages should be part of a quest that hasnt been released yet
  17. i think a lot of people dont understand how it will work. 1 extra option isnt going to make the game easier or harder. you just have more options. you can still pick up your bones, bury them from your inventory, or use them, drop them or examine them. with 1 more option, bury bone, next to take bone, walk here, examine bone, and cancel, i dont see how this will make the game any easier. if you pick up a bone to bury it, it takes 2 clicks. if you bury a bone on the ground, it takes 2 clicks. no difference, no easier for those of you how oppose "do X" suggestions because it "makes the game easier, do you guys oppose withdraw x or withdraw all from the bank? how would you like to click your pile of gp 20,000 times to take it out, then click it 20,000 in the trade window to buy what you need? right click options make the game easier. the idea is not to have users suffer with carpel tunnel syndrome just to enjoy the game. jagex has done a lot of things to make the game easier. i havent seen a single rant against the cook x option. what about goldsmithing and cooking gauntlets? what about the fishing guild. imagine, you can click a destination on your minimap and your character will navigate around obstacles to get there for you. how lazy is that!! how come people dont complain about the easy things in the game that they take for granted? i support this idea. i dont mind clicking 28 times to bury an inv of bones, that wont change. i dont see how clicking on a bone twice to bury it without picking it up will be any easier than clicking on a bone twice to pick it up and bury it.
  18. the demand for cash is natural. runescape players, especially members, are a lucrative market for anybody. they have funds to spend on something as unnecessary as an online game, they are net savvy, and they are young and competitive. if im a teen that pays for my own membership, and i see my friend with a whip and full dragon, then ill want that too. and if i cant get the cash buy skilling for 40 hours, ill buy the gp with real cash and get that instantly
  19. even if you dont want a credit card, if you have a checking account you can probably get a debit master card or debit visa. its the same thing as your atm bank card, you have a pin and you can withdraw money with it from a machine like your regular atm card. BUT, you can also use the card to make online purchases, like pay for your rs membership. its NOT a credit card, because you dont borrow money from a line of credit and you dont owe the bank or have to pay fees for it. instead, it just takes the amount from your checking account talk to your bank tellers and find out if you can open a checking account and if they will give you a debit mastercard. thats what i do, i dont mess with credit cards at all. with a debit mastercard you get all the benefits without the risk of debt and interest and late fees and that sort of thing
  20. it seems that quite a few training items is up as well. i see bronze and iron arrows took a price hike, as well as chaos runes. yew logs went up a bit lately. and pure ess and bow strings too. smithing materials have been pretty stable, but it looks like fletching items raised for some reason
  21. runescape doesnt have holiday updates just becuse its a bank holiday in america. its only on christmas, easter and halloween. its the same every year. there are lots of other holidays in america or other countries during the year, but only those 3 get updates in runescape
  22. well, theres no doubt that the wise old man is indeed a saradominst, with the initial *D... perhaps he's also a high level thief, not just for breaking into the bank, but because of the seeds he has to pay for tasks, seeing that he's right next door to the master farmer and seed stalls (then again, maybe he just buys seeds "legally" lol)
  23. The only problem is throw away credit cards. Put $5 on em, toss em after a month. My question is this..why is Jagex going through this process, if (as they often tout) the macro detection system is almost infallible? It seems that they should be able to run hourly scans to detect macroing as it occurs. most macroers (i assume) are kids that dont have the funds, know-how or permission to apply for a creditcard every month (or less if they get caught before that), just to continue trying to run their macro scam. and even if they could, sooner or later they will realise that they are losing more than they are gaining. the macro detection system is far from infallible, or even effective. most people banned for macroing are those reported by other players. its just that a macro is usually an external file that allows you to repeat key strokes or mouseclicks, and automatically have your character run around doing repetitive things. its not that easy to detect, because regular mouse clicking to do certain tasks is really no different if its a legit player or a macro, as far as the game coding is concerned, most of the time. i suppose many autoers are caught with the in-game detection, but i am pretty sure its only a small minority of autoers
  24. im not a pker or a fan of running around the wildy, but i love the wilderness idea the way it is, except i wish they had put some other skillable items (willows and yews, chickens and cows, etc) to attract more trainers. the fact that ore rocks are the only real big training attraction in the wildy is kinda unfair to miners, but hey... as for pkers and "honor", what they call dishonor is really just a case of calling the grapes sour because you cant get them. even weak pkers who pick a fight will tele out of the wilderness. ive been teleblocked by a mage once, poisoned, and the mage still teled after i started to kick his butt. so this philosophy of "honor" is only a front. in reality, most pkers intentionally and repeatedly attack the disadvantaged and the easy targets. imagine a mage pure with a full inventory of food, using ancients on a prayerless, armorless, unarmed, foodless, skulled runecrafter. and if the runecrafter comes back to retaliate fully armed, the pker runs out of level 5 wildy, or gets his buddies to attack you. im talking from personal experience. "honor" is just a trademark that pkers use, like "noob" and "pwned", that have no meaning to them whatsoever, but they still just like to use it
  25. tax wont work in runescape. nobody gets paid from institutions or is subject to government support or legal protection. in real life, you pay taxes which, supposedly, goes towards public services and government expenditure, likefixing roads and maintaining a national armed force, etc the only way something like this could work is using entry tax to get in and out of certain provinces, like the al kharid gate or waterbirth island for non-freminiks. its not really tax, more like an entry fee, and its not based on income, but its voluntary: if you cant pay you dont get it. a plain tax on amount of gp wont work either, because the hi alcher will get cheated while the merchant with 6 p hatd in his bank wont be taxed as much
