It isn't too bad at Drags, and yeah the Helm is way better. Coif is +3 range and Helm is +6. Also the Helm doesn't degrade.

My rare is personal so it's street price means nothing to me. (Ok maybe a little.) You do raise vaild points, but most can live with what is in place. I know that I never liked trading and the GE is much more efficient. The only reason you would pay 100k more is because you couldn't find a seller. The GE will nearly always have a seller for high-demand items.
