  1. That's strange, I used winrar to zip it :? I'm trying to think of why it's causing trouble for you, what exactly is the problem? Edit: I tried unzipping mine with winrar, all I did was right click the .rar and select "Extract Here" and it worked fine. Edit2: Looking back, I see I named the .rar "FimerV1.0.rar" which was pretty stupid of me. I'm not saying this is surely the problem, but it could have happened that your computer saw the first dot and thought of it as a .0.rar file (obviously being non existent), or something of the like. I took out the dot in the second link.
  2. Because this was made in VB, I'm sorry to say it probably will not work on any OS except windows. I've heard of emulators that can run windows apps but I don't know much more about them :-# . v3.0 changes: For convenience, the window no longer jumps around your screen when you select a new set of timers to view. Minor bug fixed which would crash the app if you selected "Allotments" timer menu from the "Allotments2" timer menu. V2.0 changes: Changed domain up-downs to combo boxes for much easier selection of which plant you are planting. Fifth tree timer pre-set times were acting up when you selected something other than magic trees, back to normal now. Label added to top left corner of each form to tell you which form you are currently viewing since the form selection combo boxed wasn't being 100% reliable for this use. Custom icon added. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This application was made in Visual Basic 2008 and is a click-once application. I had ~6 months of experience programming in Visual Basic when making this app so I wasn't perfect (not to say I am now  ). Thus, if I ever make future updates to the program chances are you'll have to look back here and re-download a complete new version. Luckily, it's a mere ~263kb so the bandwidth aspect of the problem isn't bad. http://rapidshare.com/files/176533365/Fimer_V3.zip Or you can also download it from the following link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PMMWYN03 Warning: To allow you to run this program in the background I made the program open a message box whenever a patch finishes counting down. If you are boss hunting this could prove to get you killed if it happens at the worst possible time. Use this while boss hunting at your own risk. If you find any problems I'd appreciate it if you could post back here and tell me about it. I debugged the program more times then I care to remember so I think it should be pretty much bug free. It isn't idiot free though, so please don't enter letters into the custom timers or the program will crash  Here is a screenie of the program in action, the top 2 timers are active and the bottom 3 are ready to be started. The combo box near each time loads the preset time for each tree so you don't have to look it up.
  3. Defence level isn't as important as mage level there, because you should be tanking mage no matter what method you use. You should never hunt for visages or DFH, they're just too rare, most people end up burning out and regret ever trying it. If you're ranging it is likely that you will break even. If you pick up their mith bar drops you might make a very small profit. Not worth camping there.
  4. +1 Some skills use money, some give money, some do neither so it's all just dependent on which skills you favor. Then there's the people like me who could care less about money as long as I have enough to buy the equipment I need :P (~17M networth at 1846 total. Mostly from training and slayer)
  5. I'm grinding my melee stats so I've started making/finishing some programs to help my boredom. I'm making a multi-timer program for farming so I can keep track of each patch in Runescape but I can't find a time for White lilies that I can set as a preset countdown. Does anyone know the growing time on White lilies? Neither RuneScape or Tip.It has updated with the info. I know all other flowers are 17.5mins but I'd much rather have a certain answer than an assumption. Thanks.
  6. There's a complicated trick that not too many people know about, my explanation will probably be very confusing  This method works best in BH. Person 1 Ice barrages (using smite) Enemy 1 (Aka one itemer). Person 1 can choose to step ontop of Enemy for safety. Person 2 (All "Person" are trusted friends) runs up and dds's with smite, Person 2 must not KO at this stage. If out of BH, Person 2 should TB. Person 3 casts restore HP on enemy. This takes the risk of them having accept aid on, so always remember to keep it off - It's a general rule that every experienced player should follow. If they have accept aid, person 2 continues to attack enemy. Person 4 takes the same role as person 3, 4 or more people should take this role for maximum chance of successful smite. Person 1 Re-Barrages whenever necessary, tagging with Person 2. When enemy seems to be fully smited (can be identified when enemy says "omg noobs". Lol.) Person 2 can proceed to finish off enemy. High chance of smited item. Always be cautious, always have accept aid OFF and even better, always never one-item ;)
  7. Based on what I've heard about them the guide on Tip.it isn't very good. The best melee weapon to use is a leaf-bladed sword, second best would be the dragon longsword. Ranging is faster than melee but is more expensive. High levels can make profit easily but you'd probably have a tough time. Where did you find that information at? There is no way a leaf-bladed sword is best to use. The whip is far better. Not at miths. It's like a non-crush weapon at waterfiends. It's not accurate enough, due to their high slash defense. Depends, really. I use a whip on slayer tasks there and with a slayer helm and dragon slayer gloves, it's all the accuracy I could possibly need. If I use all four dds specs on the first dragon, I usually won't be able to get a 2nd dds spec on the second mith dragon, so it's plenty fast. I can't talk much for killing them without a slayer task though, bit of a waste of time unless your bored IMO.
  8. Make pouches, not scrolls. Scrolls are painfully slow xp and won't get you anywhere near 60. Making just granite crab pouches with your gold charms and saving the rest of your charms is a good idea. I would save my crimson charms until bloated leeches (lvl 49 summon). There's an awesome guide for what pouches to make, what summons are useful, etc. In the Archive of Wisdom, called something like "Kent's ultimate guide to summoning" (of the top of my head). You should give it a look, it's on the first (and only) page of the Archive. Edit: The link in above post is the one ;)
  9. Nope, you have to complete all the previous difficulties as well.
  10. Sorry for the dumb question, but I was taking a break from Runescape when all the tutors were released, how do you get exp from Lumbridge jobs? I know you can right click to get a job from some NPC's, but I never gave it a shot because I simply can't put myself to doing low level tasks - it bores me to insanity. Do you get a exp lamp, random xp in a skill, etc.? I'm curious because I have to get 61-66 RC for achievment diaries.
  11. What do you use your timers for? I made an extremely basic farming timer program in VB when I was raising farming for While Guthix Sleeps. It has a timer for each patch and loads the time it takes for the plant you have when you input what your growing. However, it's basic and I only really intended it for myself so I only got around to making timers for each herb, tree and I think I did fruit tree patches as well. Not sure if the program works for others, I've got mixed results from friends. If you want, I can upload it for you on rapidshare, the only other multi-timer program I could find was something on mithdev but I didn't like the layout of it, there is no download-able version (I may be wrong) and... I can't load the site  (I saw a video of someone using it on youtube). Don't expect anything fancy if you do end up trying it ;)
  12. Actually, mercifull is right, -1 or less is the same as 0. Logically, it should help you further but sometimes Jagex has to consider gameplay over common sense.
  13. Your strength is 90, and that's where your xp/hr comes from here, they don't have high defence and you don't take damage. Are you using enchanted salve ammy? make sure you enchant it if you haven't already. Also, what familiar are you using? bring your best combat familiar (having one that takes up a single space helps alot). I think all those 100-110k+ xp/hr's are from people with 99 strength using 5% or 10% prayers so don't worry if you're not getting the same as the highest numbers being told. I trained here to 99 str/att but sadly didn't take the time to record my xp :-#
  14. I know, out of the guides I have only black dragons drop visages. I didn't mean "A Draconic Guide" to have people thinking a visage hunting guide, suppose I didn't think it out too well  . I chose draconic because the word means something related to dragons, also it's a bit of an unintentional pun now that I look at it ;) .
  15. for slayer a salve is still better than mask even without it being enchanted as it gives +3 prayer bonus get salve (e) its one of those best things to do that you'll never regret Wrong. Slayer helm (including black mask) and fury has a higher max hit and defence bonus than salve ammy (e) and netiznot. Don't believe me? go try it out on any decent max hit calc. 5% extra is no way near as good as the bonuses from a fury. Getting a bit off topic though. You should just buying some barrows armour and tank them, they seriously don't hit that hard. If you have full Guthans or access to bunyips then your really in business, but you definitely don't need them.
  16. You won't get owned w/o 70 def, you'll just have to change your setup to be a bit more costly. If you get 70 def and can afford some melee barrows armour of your own, then you can give tanking torag and/or guthan a shot. If not, you pray on them. Bring super defences (very cheap compared to the other 2 super potions and prayer potions) for Verac. There are countless awesome guides out there for all levels and for all methods, just check out the archive of wisdom, there should be one on the front (only) page. Good luck.
  17. How much cash are we talking? Because you really need to be very rich for green charms to be worth their price at lower levels. Err, back to the question, I predict roughly 6.9m not using greens, after you have sold back all your pouches for shards or on GE. Not sure how much extra using those greens will be, but it's enough to warrant for hunting extra crimsons instead of using them.
  18. You can buy as many capes as you want without dropping them, I have 2 of each cape that I can get, no tricks required to do.
  19. I can confirm you can use greenman's ale and garden pies for the quest, I assume a magic pot would work as well.
  20. They're the best looking robes out there (IMO), and they're mystic with a prayer bonus. Not really THAT great to mage in (I'd consider this armour for rock lobs), but it looks awesome. I've been killing alot of elite knights, black sallamander seems to be the most relaxing way to do it. I'll post a pic if I get a drop.
  21. I succeeded on my first actual search so I don't know what happens if you fail it. If the rune disappears from the door you probably just have to put the next one in order. If you don't know which rune you're up to try and look at the spell the door casts at you (i think it does this when you try put in the wrong rune) and use the according rune, for example if it casts a wind spell use air, fire spell use fire, etc.
  22. I had your problem aswell, it sucked even more for me because I was capped and tabbing out takes a good 15 seconds (final boss got me to 15 hp lol) :-# What you do is use the first rune that the order of symbols indicates (because you messed it up the first time, you will now have to put in the SECOND RUNE in order, you won't need the first one). When you put the rune in there, instead of opening the door you have to search it instead because there still is a trap in there. After you've entered that door you will never have to search it or put a rune into it, you can just click on it like any other door. Hope that helps.
  23. That's referring to elite black armour, not dagon'hai  (no specific reference to dagon'ahi, at least) Dagon'hai looks so good that it's sad to know that I'll have to go through so much trouble to get a second set. I'm leaving an offer for a set or two after this - this is by far the most fun armour to skill in I've used. :P It's probably been confirmed by a J mod that you can't get it back, but maybe if you lose the set you can buy a set from surok in the fally castle cell? killing dark mages is iffy - they aren't really wearing the robes (where elite black knights wear their armour). I don't think it would be too harmful to have surok sell back the robes - anyone who's completed this quest should be past using mystic armour anyway, so the market would take minimal, if no, harm.
  24. Thanks everyone, i'll check if tiaras are sellable which would make them a decent choice. I could max my melee stats in those 75-80 hrs  , in any case flax spinning brings back bad memories (picking flax days on end amongst auoters and spinning it on the way back in seers *shivers*) I lose about 1k per hide the way I counted it (adds up to 9M), alching the green bodies. Now that I think of it it sounds a bit much. maybe I got something wrong... Hopefully :P
  25. I'm looking to polish up my stat page with some better looking stats and I've always found a high craft level to look nice :D I have 11M cash but I'm not really willing to go too far past 5M for 80 craft, while keeping xp/hr reasonable (eg. Not flax..) - anyone know what a good method would be? I've looked around and I've seen a fair share of people making silver tiaras, so are these really that good? I really can't find anything to do with them after I'm done (I'm not interested in junk, at all.).
