  1. It's really comes down to opinion. Ask yourself this: would you rather +4 strength OR +12 def, +2 prayer and +2 strength? Personally, I would take the latter (fury) easily, the only thing it has over fury is +2 strength, which is highly unlikely to increase your max. While a fury also only has +2 over a glory, it has HUGE defence and prayer bonuses. In a bit more bias tone, I would take a fury over a berserker ring VERY easily. When you buy a berserker ring you loose ROL/ROW which are incredibly usefull, but so difficult to put up into a comparison. I had both berserker ring and fury until last week, at which point I died at zombie monkies (repeated DC's, no grave), I had my berserker on me which not only means I pretty much had a 100% chance of death but I was guaranteed to loose my ring, which is pretty hefty to loose just like that. Luckily I ran back after my connection improved, I picked up my god cloak and berserker ring and lost disappeared right in front of me before I could pick it up. It was a 500k-1M loss that I could have easily avoided so I sold my berserker ring. It's your choice really, just don't forget the advantages of a ROL don't come in stats.
  2. Please don't just tell me not to do it, I know it's horribly inefficient but I've already spent about 10-20 times what my budget was intended to be for summoning so I'm trying to take it easy on my bank and making the best money efficiency of my shards until I come across a lot more money. That said, I'm also plain bored and feel like something new. If I way to set out to do temple trekking for the talon beast charms, does anyone know which difficulty and/or route I'm best off taking? Using prayer pots/super sets/food isn't a problem and I'm 90+ melee stats, all quests finished should it matter somehow.
  3. D bow is the slowest range exp available, the only thing that MIGHT be slower to train with is javelins. Strictly a PVP weapon really. Knives and darts are the fastest economical range exp out there, yes. If you have ALOT of cash to blow on range, you can use chinchompas. After knives comes rune c'bow then msb.
  4. They're still horrid, gold charms are practicly worthless for serious summoners (thought I'll give it to you that they're a good way for the poorer players to get 68 gradually), the slayer exp isn't good, simply because of the competition you will find vs them. I used to be a huge fan of cannoning them, but now with all the people crowding them you'll be lucky if your cannon shoots at 2 dogs every time it spins around. Flashing prayers is incredibly irritating as well, it's better just to spend the extra 50k and have some enjoyable training without the carpal tunnel. Just a small suggestion, you could add a picture of where the best spot is for abyssal demons in the abyss, I always get attacked by the highest lvl's there from time to time :?
  5. I smell...NERF! Jagex nerfed it, sorry. I didn't even have 83 slayer before the nerf  Either I have extremely good luck, or you have extremely bad luck, because 1 in 75-100 is very constant for me.
  6. you're looking at about a 1 in 75 drop rate, obviously that doesn't mean you're always going to get 2-3 per task, but personally I'd say I average about 2 per task. Sorry, can't help you out with a setup, I'm a fan of sara mages \
  7. It isnt risky in case I got high prayer, like 70 and if i use protect item prayer. I think there is no theoretical chance of me loosing it in case i dont heal (since people can use smite on me,but its only 1/4 of dmg done.I'll be dead long time before my prayer runs out,and prayer pots are alternative asweell). What do you think? As far as I know,I dont see there is somthing that can drain prayer.. goblin ancient mace perhaps? You dont have to worry about losing a GS to a ancient mace spec  If you pay attention you'll never loose it, but if your not constantly staring at your prayer (especially if you're pieting) and someone smites you (even worse - uses the god spell that drains prayer with smite. Saradomin I think it is?) you may lose it, especially if you panic and eat food without a prayer potion dose. One of my friends PK'ed a BGS last week, so don't think it doesn't happen.
  8. Get a Slayer ring via slayer, rub it to tele to tarns lair and kill tarn, you dont need a guide for it. I think that may have been fixed though, you'll probably have to go through the maze.
  9. Yeah the 10% accuracy boost is priceless at metal drags, if you combo piety + slayer helm + dragon slayer gloves mith drags are so quick and easy that it's ridiculous. You probably could wear them for the last hit for the slayer exp when killing standard dragons, but the effort is far from worth it, just keep them on permanently.
  10. When he said I he just got a d long, I infer that his stats won't be able to do the quest for them. The first summers quest is very easy, the corporal beast hits like 10's, though it doesn't even hit you if you don't come close. He'd just need a few summon levels to start it. You could try green dragons, but the exp/hr is pathetic, it's only for cash. Telling us your stats helps ALOT if you want good advice, rock crabs north of Camelot are good for people starting off, and very good for people with low defense.
  11. It's the same drain as using one 10%, but because you lose 5% strength for 5% attack it's not as fast. People can argue it all they want but it doesn't take a genius to realize strength is so much more useful when training (you should be training on monsters where accuracy is needed as little as possible). So i'd advise straying away from the attack prayers, you should only use them against high lvl monsters who have high defence, in that case you wouldn't be looking at the 5/10% prayers either because piety is far better vs. bosses (eg. Bandos).
  12. I'm shooting for maxed melee stats and strength is next. I want to use dharoks (SS takes up all my bank's worth of cash, dont like being poor for one of any item) but the rock cake from rfd that does 1dmg/click would really be helpfull. I tried getting it back but failed, is there any way to do it? What would the best alternatives to a rfd rock cake aswell? I was thinking of smokey well fire giants and abby demons to kill with it, I don't care much for optimum speed. Obviously the fire giants I dont need a cake but it's quite costly to hunt them them with dharoks.
  13. As said, tanking with 70 def while maging is iffy. What you could do is get mystic armour, a DFS and make sure that protect item always keeps your DFS. Splitbark armour might give you a bit more defence I suppose, but I dont have much experience with it TBH. If not, you could try a rune chain, rune kite, mystic bottom. That *might* work, but it sacrifices accuracy which mages heavily rely on. You should look at getting that defence level up though.
  14. How rich are you? How much will you use it when training? I bought it, used it for a week, but I had better things to spend 2m on (it also cost me 500k worth of items when I DCed at zombie monkies, I got back but only managed to pick the berserk ring and a guthix cloak up :-# ). If your getting a berserker ring, ALWAYS get a fury before you do so, otherwise just keep a ROL on you. Warrior rings are junk compared to ROL/ROW, they're just for people who want to have a needless stat boost. They only place you should use a warrior is at metals and maybe a very select few other monster, simply not worth it, no matter how cheap it is.
  15. That glitch = Hawt. No way, the sword looks elite, remind me of LOTR \ Gotta say, this has probably been my best week in RS  Just made my 4th trip to abby demons, I'm too lazy to upload a full pic but here's a PC Also got 65 crimsons, 23 golds. Yes, those were 2 whips in one trip, with no guthan, in the time span of 3 bunyips  So far: 4 Trips to abby demons and 4 whips, i'm loving my luck.
  16. Everything falls and drops all the time, there doesn't have to be some uber large event to force it to happen. Though 7% is relatively significant, so it's possible that a large group are buying it out for some profit. The smartest thing you can do is wait it out really, look at all the barrow items that crashed a month ago, they've all returned to their normal price from what I hear. Guthans right now is a bit of an iffy issue, many people believe it's outdated now, while it may not be true, majority rules when it comes to determining price.
  17. Zomg, what a week - I never want to see a zombie monkey again  After being 13th in all of Runescape as to who got the most attack exp in this week (or so says runescript), grinding 97-99 in 4 days, I'm proud to present... [hide=] [/hide] I was lagging so I timed my screenie badly :? Very happy to have my first 99, at 126 comb 1808 total as well :P
  18. Wow - People still kill these? Anyway, they drop 10 charms per drop (not 100% drop rate, but a decent one), dropping mainly gold, nearly never blue. They have MASSIVE melee and range defense, the only way to mele them is with Veracs. I suppose you might be able to use diamond bolts, but it's needlessly expensive and still will come out slower. There are many safe spots in both waterbirth and chaos tunnels, not only that but they hit INCREDIBLY low and inaccurately, probably the worst accuracy for a semi high monster in game. I litterly can tank these in mystic robes sup def pot and 90 defense. If you're going to kill them, salamanders are a nice method - orange salamanders are relatively cost efficient (or at least they were at the release of summoning, not sure about now). Otherwise, you can try air/fire waving or slayer darting them, probably the most cost efficient. I'd recomend staying away from these though, horrible exp and they drop golds over anything else.
  19. 50th task is 10x points. I get 225 on my 50th tasks, 15 * 15 = 225. It's 15 times.
  20. Oo can't wait to try it out :P (You sure as hell wont find me trying to attack a guy with a steel titan LOL). TBH the implementation of summoning in pvp right now is sad, not only BH, but in duels summoning is looked upon as if it wasn't a combat skill - It's the only skill that requires you to manual "enable" it, while all the others automatically are permitted, how is that fair? To correct, I'd say the only place we've seen them perform properly is in castle wars (not a fan of clan wars, dont know what's happening with it as far as summoning).
  21. It's still a hundred times slower - it just saves you the carpal tunnel. Gilded altars will save you ALOT of grief for a mere 50% less per bone. Also note that if the burner you use doesn't require marrentil, you will only be getting 250% exp for the bone instead of 350%. A gilded burner is no different in xp, then say, a mahogany one.
  22. people like you make me sick These forums aren't some trashy RSOF - nor ingame runescape chat. If you want to go talk "lyke dis" you have both of those as a resort. Anyway, The mole is decent money per kill, but in my experience not so great money per hour which is what it all comes down to. A fun boss to kill a few times, but the crowding really takes from that. However I have no experience of killing it with a GS, that may change things around a bit I guess.
  23. When it comes to skills like construction and summoning, it's sometimes better NOT to look at the cost  Anyway - Make sure you always use your golds first - they're practicly free compared to any other charm's price. Personally I stopped using greens after 68, they are alot more expensive to use and alot slower to level with. If the crimson price tag is too much for you, you may want to do that aswell. When your done with thsoe two, move onto your crimsons. Also, i'd recomend bloated leaches over stranger plants - until you reach granite lobsters of course. I think stranger plant seconds are hard to get or expensive, no? Personally I'm a firm believer that in the end using your blue charms as you get them gets you levels faster, even in the long run. After all, the sooner you level the sooner you get higher better xp pouches. The boost from say, mith to geyser pouches is far from great enough to convince me otherwise. That'll be my belief untill I see some concrete math done on it, but I'm straying off topic.
  24. Yes - I was thinking you were using the balloon method which I'm not very familiar with - thought your weight limit got limited or something. Anyway, yeah, pack your invent as full of seconds as possible while mainting a quick way back to a bank and to the obelisk.
  25. Horrid, completely sacrifices exp/hr for money. Anyway - abyssal demons rake in good cash but the exp isnt incredibly high. Nechs probably give a bit more exp while still giving some profit. If you want more exp over cash, fire giants in chaos tunnels are a nice choice - not much attention needs to be payed - especially with 99 defence. I've only done one daganoth task there - but daganoth in chaos tunnels are alright as well, just keep the hides (circular hides especially) and they pay off all the pray pots and even give a decent profit.
