    Today...

    Erm what. 3 hours? Any girl I know would've been tired/angry ( okay girl depedent there )/frustated/out the door within 15 minutes let alone 3 hours of trying and failing or maybe she has the patience of a saint. But, please tell me you mean something else? If not, well maybe get some doctoral advice as i'm sorry to say, that isn't normal :/ Regarding snow days.. my school doesn't shut for anything as well. It took a fire and health and [cabbage] advisors to shut my school which was two years ago.. On topic, today I had school. Primary/Secondary/Tertiary protein structures isn't the easiest. Wow I wasnt expecting I'd have to go into detail but; it's not that it didn't get hard its that it wasn't consistent, because I was hammed. Protein structure levels is the easiest thing in the world unless you're expected to know all 20 amino acids, their R groups and how to predict second/tert structures based solely on the primary structure.

    Today...

    A girl was nice enough to spend 3 hours trying to get me to get to a 'special place' but my 'special limb' would have nothing of it. I was so unimpressed with myself, especially since she was one of the hottest to date. Other than that, I'm starting to become a pro at all this lab/research stuff, I can now make agar plates like it's nobodies business :)
  3. This is very true and not a lot of people realize this so here's me pointing it out. To me, movie starts were all doing some sort of crazy Californian yoga slash odd diet slash light weight lifting programmes to get the bodies they have, but it turns out they do intense body building. I only really started gaining noticeable (only to myself mind you) muscle mass is when I started on the protein shakes.

    I just spent 30 minutes downloading and naming 45 articles (all 17+ pages) I have to read for a class. I think it's break-down-and-cry time!
  6. Oh good god, that is brilliant. Blonde moment; why the [bleep] is it a sloth in a business suit? I just spent 3 straight hours being all smart and stuff, talking about philosophy and [cabbage], and I can't understand a simple shirt design :thumbdown: Did the Clan like sloths or something? Doesn't sound like their style lol Because Wu-Tang. K i've decided it's not supposed to make sense and that's how it's gonna be from now on.

Message Tees can be cool in some cases guys - for example, my brother currently has a "Actually, medicine is the best medicine" shirt with little pills on it (referring to people saying comedy or laughter is the best medicine ect.) and the guy is a DOCTOR! Actually that sounds pretty lame nevermind. Glad I could contribute :thumbup:
  9. That's exactly my thinking. If I cannot do a rep in good form, then I cannot do another rep. Even during my PT tests for the military, there's many guys I see that go down like 3 inches, some sag their back and barely move, I mean, it's almost embarrassing to see it, and I'm not doing it! I do my pushups the same every rep, and I go until I literally fall onto the floor in good form. Right, we probably should have defined what "muscle failure" meant to each of us before we started giving our opinions. I agree that if you aren't in proper form you shouldn't continue your set, but in my experience I was able to squeeze in a rep or two even with bad form. That's my muscle failure 'line'. I know it's not the ideal way to work out but I make myself believe that if I do "just 1-2 more" then I'll be stronger the next time. I think this is a common mistake amongst lots of us, cause even though I'm aware of my problem I still freaking doing it. I'm more graceful during my last 2 reps than you probably think, but if we're talking 100% efficiency then I'm not doing it right, thats for sure.
  10. In my opinion you should only go to failure when you're doing exercises like pushups, pullups, situps, and squats. You normally won't be using any extra weight in those exercises and so it's harder to get injured, whereas muscle failure on the benchpress without a spotter could kill you. And of course if your last rep isn't proper form then you aren't helping.
  11. I'm trying so hard to do 100 pushups in 2 sets (50x50) but i've only been managing to do 40x40x20 for the past 5 months. I should note though that I do real pushups, with my chest touching the ground every rep. I have friends who boast that they can do 75 reps in one set but when they show me I notice they hardly bring their elbows down to 90 degrees :shame: So yeah, I've pretty much been doing pushups all day :mrgreen:

    Today...

    Wow, being a scientist rocks. I was at university for about 5 hours today but only in the lab for a total of 1. My day: incubate 1 hour, come back, add enzyme, incubate more, add another enzyme, incubate, run gel, cut out gel, purify, incubate, ect. The rest of the time I get to hang out with friends, and university friends are actually fun to hang around with even though I'm sober :thumbup:

    Today...

    For the first time in my life I want to break somebody's face to the point where even his parents won't recognize him. For some reason, my best friend decided to ruin a friendship that I truly cherished, one that I saw lasting a really long time. They both put me in such a [cabbage]ty situation that I physically threw up (toilet bowl and everything) since I felt like such a dumb piece of [arrrgh].

    Holy wow, I've only been an experimental biologist for 1 week and I'm already getting summer job offers in labs from other universities... am I a complete, utter baller or what? :thumbsup: Just now I've decided waking up at 6:30 is way too early for anyone who isn't a [bleep]ing farmer. My plan was to get up early and catch up on the internets before heading out to school but good lord even the sun didn't wake up yet. Even my voice hasn't woken up from my weekend-long party, my grime levels are off the charts.
  17. Oh man I've only slept 4 hours because I had to watch the last episodes of Boardwalk, I couldn't stop myself. The compilations they do as they murder a handful of people are the most badass clips I've ever experienced from a TV show.

    Got back from my weekend ski trip earlier today. It's 8PM and i'm drunk from this morning's binge drinking, the reason why I binged this morning was to get rid of my hangover from the party I came back from at 3AM. I don't have a voice anymore and I spent a solid 30 mins scrubbing off the slime from the weekend, but holy [bleep] that was a fun three days. Like, you know the saying "there's plenty of fish in the ocean"? Well for this event the vacation gods drained the ocean, hand picked all the hotties and put them in a pool (in my case, a hotel hot tub). But I can't shake the feeling that I was 'dancing' with a (pre-sorry) fat chick for awhile. Either that or we hung out while I was smoking outside, I really can't freaking remember.

    Double post, let's make this worthwhile k? I am currently being texted by a drunk girl who I did option 1) to and it lead us nowhere. I didn't see her as being a friend so I did it and now we hardly see each other anymore and I'm okay with it, and now she's kinda embarrassing herself to me which is a giant ego boost for me. Also, you're letting her ex get to your head. She's not with him anymore, don't let him get to your head moron.

    Here's my 2 cents Timmy; If you don't want to get friend zoned, put your penis in her and see where that leads you. That or do something reaaally romantic, show her how much she means to you, then put your penis in her. Or, if you actually like this girl for who she is, accept the friend zone and enjoy it. But if you're calling it 'the friend zone' then you probably rather put your penis in her, which is what you should do in this case.
  21. I haven't been to the gym in 2011 :thumbdown: My shoulder was hurting back in 2010, it feels nice and fluid now though. I think I was pushing myself too hard to hit 200 by 2011 that I didn't stretch enough or take into account the pain in my shoulder urgh. So today I did absolutely nothing, but tomorrow I'm definitely hitting the gym in the afternoon and start up my routine again :thumbsup: Benching 200 lbs will be pushed back to summer 2011 (during). Wow, just thinking about doing a full body workout at the gym after not going for so long has got me all excited :ohnoes:

    Someone from the lab next to mine put something in the microwave next to my workbench so I asked her before she started heating it up why she wasn't using her labs microwave, she just said it was being used. I said okay and ever since that [bleep]ing [cabbage] boiled my head has been spinning. :thumbdown:
  23. And when they don't get the support they crave, they'll then make another identical thread. Seriously get a grip and do some freaking crunches or something. You don't have to be an expert reflux capacitor physician to optimally use up your exercise time, just do it.

    Man, Mondays are so boring when you don't have any alcohol. Bleeeeergh, but oh hey I started my research project today on my first day back :thumbsup: I can't wait to sink my teeth into it, but first i'm doing a trial run to ensure that I can do all the lab techniques properly or else I might fail and cost the university lots of $$
