I was mugged in a park once, while I was on my way to my friends house for the first time. When I got to his house a couple of my friends were already there and they saw that I was roughed up, and since they're pretty non-violent people I was extremely surprised at was I saw. My friend got his dad's golf clubs and someone got out two baseball bats, and we all (8 of us) piled into his van and went mugger-hunting. Normally i'd be against this, and even typing this now I think we were really stupid. But anyways, the morons were still hanging out in the park, and we un-mugged all my things. Luckily nothing got too out of hand, but it did get pretty rough. Sadly stuff like that sticks to you, and i'm always paranoid when I cross parks late at night. I was planning on learning how to fight really well, but when I realized that being able to fight like Jet-Li took a lot of effort, I dropped the idea   -
I've wanted to be an Architect since I was a little kid but I've recently took an interest in Engineering. I would love to be in the music business though but hey, if that doesn't work out then those extra math and science classes I have been taking will sure come in handy. : Yeah, it's still a tossup between Architecture and Engineering for me. I'm taking an engineering class this semester and Murphy's laws are the worst... so much rage when I trying building an RC circuit. I was thinking about bagging me one of those Alaskan petrol engineer jobs, work there for like 5 years and get a cool half mil, invest it in a nice big house and work on more engineering back in Montreal or pursue Architecture. Of course, that means 5 years without human contact.. hopefully they'll be internet

I've longed dreamed about a job that would combine my creativity and smarts, and I discovered it a few months ago: Architect 8-) Luckily, I'm in the perfect college program in order for me to get accepted in Architecture over at McGill in 2 semesters. Grades are no problem at all, I have the same if not better grades than my older brother and he's in Medicine, also at McGill. And if any of you have ever watched Seinfeld, you'd know architects get all the ladies

What do you do?(Where do you work? What is your occupation?)

I am currently a sandwich artist (Subway 8-) ), used to work on my grandma's farm during the summer but I need money for college. I did a few web designs for a company, but since I hated it so much I quit after i made 2 websites even though I got 500$ for each. -

I sit at my desk, tell myself that I won't go to bed until i've studied "x" amount in "x" courses. Low music of Coldplay or something soothes me and helps me concentrate. Objectives are fun to reach, and sometimes you completely lose track of time and you go to bed at 4 in the morning

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
fastortoise replied to Da_Latios's topic in Off-Topic
First off, your a best friend, not a boyfriend. Why are you expecting to come first? To me, a females male "best friend" is essentially a "plan B", or an emotional back up to a boyfriend. They'll love you and all that until a boyfriend, (or better offer) comes up. Sure, they still love you while they are with their better offer, but that doesn't mean they will choose you first. Secondly, it really doesn't matter what you think about them getting together. Just put your 2 cents in and leave it at that. People grow from experience; if they have to learn the hard way so be it. I'm not a plan B to her boyfriend, I'm a plan B to everyone she hangs out with. ...get better friends. I have 4 different "sets" of friends so when part of the group starts dating or being annoying, I can just hang out with my other friends. Early on I realized have two best friends is extremely limiting, and having 2x4 best friends makes you so much busier and active. Diversity is the key! -
You guys realize this is complete bologna, aye?

People who start smoking with the exact same reasons you have are those who become chronic, addicted smokers. Out of all the people who progress to heavy drugs (excluding MJ), these smokers make up the majority. You'll be smoking for all the wrong reasons, and it could lead to a bad lifestyle. If someone thinks i'm full of bologna, go read The Tipping Point by Malcom Cladwell or something. Anyways, the best way to get out of your conundrum is to talk to your parents about it. I also worked during my high school years to help out with the bills but one day in grade 11 I sat down with my folks and told them about my problems. They obviously understood and acted as if they could manage without me working. So if i'm correct and our positions were once the same, your parents will value a good education and won't mind you quitting so long you give good reasons and show academic improvements. It was the best move i'd done in a long time. Talking about these kinds of things when there is so much strain and tension in a family does wonders. Now you can go along smoking and doing other things in order to get a nice view of the world without any unhealthy addictions.

Instead of taking naps after dinner, I bring my boombox to my basement and just work out 'til I decide I need to get some homework done. I don't enjoy it that much, but I prefer working out than waking up at 10PM feeling like [bleep]. PRODUCTIVITY IS UP 20% GUYS!

The screen is REALLY nice, I love how it's so long. Also, the widescreen videos are beautiful (I sound like Steve Jobs :x ) The only downside is that when I take it out of my pocket and it's in coverflow, it has trouble turning back rightside up so I can't change the volume. It's really inconvenient when some crazy loud song starts playing and I have to pause it

I know you know Dion is a smart guy, but sadly I don't think the rest of Canada does. He really is a bright guy, smarter than any other politician running for Prime Minister, especially Harper. If we want a well run country, Dion is the guy imo

Cool thread, I got loads of ideas I could type out but I'll just add the one I find the most hilarious: My friend showed me how to steal from the candy vending machine at school, and I tried it once during a weekend I had to go to school to practice for a show. I was alone in the big cafeteria, grabbing at the bottom of chip bags when a student who I never saw before walked by. I we said our awkward "hi"s and I continued stealing. I hear him walk over, probably out of curiosity and hear him take something out of his pocket. I didn't look back, and he started talking to me (in French): -What are you doing there? -Getting free food, want some? -No thanks. Who showed you how to do that? -Uh, I dunno? (I hear the click of a walkie-talkie) -Get the head-security guard to the cafeteria, now! -wat OOO, ANOTHER ONE (that I never got caught for): Me and my friend (I forget what his name was) were throwing grapes at each other in the cafeteria in grade 4. We always made sure to pick them back up because we heard people could slip on them and break a hip. Obviously one got away and we let it roll off, and 5 minutes later we hear a teacher fall and break her arm. I looked over at my friend at the same time as he did, totally stunned and he said "THE GRAPE!". hahahahaahaha, his face expression will be forever burned into my mind. sooo many more... must get back to biology though :(

huh, turns out my close friend's sister is working on this over in Sweden. She kept telling me she was going to Sweden to study Physics at a university in Geneva, and I guess i'm too incompetent to piece two and two together. Apparently she's going to be there when the gizmos collide and she'll study what gizmo pieces are made of and find the answer to the universe and stuff.

Don't worry, we won't judge : , nothing wrong with crying. Mine was when I read this (10 mins ago):

It'll be my first time voting, and I really don't think that I know enough about politics to vote for either Conservs, Libs or Not-so-newDP I'm leaning towards Liberals but if they aren't convincing i'll throw my vote away to the Green Party since the runner for my town lives next to me and he's cool

Not as cool as Rambo, but still... nice Today I wrote my Engineering exam, and since it went well I'm planning on going out tonight but i'll end up staying at home doing homework and studying for the other tests coming up :geek:

I was 100% sure that I didn't have any questionable items in my room, but after a thorough checking I found 4 cans of Labatt Blue, a zippo and stuff you light with zippos (firecrackers duh) Time to celebrate!
