  1. That could be part of it. But it was also most likely removed as a potential RWT source. Just like Bounty Hunter today, two players could meet and one could kill the other for the items. That's why Bounty Hunter was created: a replacement for "dangerous" PKing that would help remove (or in the current case, somewhat cut down) RWTing. Anyway. Yeah, RuneScape isn't ruined. For some people. I suppose it is, if PKing (or RWTing) was their life in it. But there are most likely more non-PKers than PKers out there, and they're still playing. Sure, you can't please everyone, but it seems like a vast majority of players are still happy with the game.
  2. Dude, it's only 28k experience. Just use yaks for like an hour more. You really won't get much faster unless you use a cannon and range potions.
  3. I've just got one quick question: does the Toktz-mej-tal (obsidian staff) auto-cast anything at all? If so, what does it auto-cast?
  4. Well I don't think it is some weird mob mentality that STR is better. It is better. It increases accuracy and raises your overall DPS. I understand some people may take it a little far but STR is the best skill out of atk, str, and def. Eh, only one person's opinion. They're all very important.
  5. If you don't realize that Jagex ruined what made RS popular then you are a fan boy.Why is it that I'm a fanboy of Jagex just because I like the game? You people seriously need to learn the difference between "fan" and "fanboy." I guess that even though I don't support or enjoy all the updates, but still like the game, then I am a crazy fanboy in your eyes. I played some RSC... probably not for as long as you have, ultrablue, O High Lord of All. I can say that I like RS2 better, for the most part. Then again, I never got into player killing so I really don't give a crap about the "old wilderness removal," but I guess this is a biased opinion of an overzealous fanboy watching out for Jagex's [wagon] despite all the lame updates they've had. Don't mind me, fellow forum-goers, I'll just be flaming the hell out of anyone who even dares say one slightly negative thing about RuneScape. I might as well commit ritual seppuku now, just to avoid the shame of being a Jagex fanboy just because I like RS2 more than RSC. Woe is me!
  6. Yeah, still sells antipoisons (3) at an unlimited stock. They're a bit more expensive than the Grand Exchange price, of course.
  7. You can't get black marks for censored words (confirmed by Jagex). Reporting for censored words would technically be abusing Customer Support, and is against the rules.
  8. 1. There are actually still glitchy safespots in the crypts for the melee brothers. It's the same corner safespot, but you manually cast a spell every seven or eight seconds. If you keep wide intervals between spells, they won't walk out of the corner trap. It's based off of what's known as the "sidestep": in the melee brother crypts, you can step around a certain corner of the coffin to catch a break and heal or whatnot. 3. The drain rate is: 8 + (brothers killed) every fifteen seconds. I've personally confirmed this during my runs.
  9. Black d'hide body, Verac's skirt/Torag's platelegs, helm of Neitiznot/archer helm, archer ring, dragon boots, accumulator, rune crossbow, unholy book or rune kiteshield, fury/glory. You'll use a bit more food and get a few less kills per run, but it's fairly effective.
  10. This seems like a rant that won't attract massive flames. Of course, I've been wrong before. I agree with will_holmes. Super ranging potions would be nice; magic, however, would be a bit ridiculous and wouldn't even really do that much.
  11. Well, I don't hate her. She always comes between kills or at the end of one for me. I've never had her send me anywhere. Well, once, but I was done with my Slayer task and wanted to see where I would go.
  12. Either 80+ attack and 75+ strength, 70+ magic, or 75+ ranged will suffice for effectiveness.
  13. I'll add to that: the King Black Dragon, black, iron, and steel dragons, and skeletal wyverns drop draconic visages as well. You're not allowed to insult grammar until yours is perfect.
  14. Never thought about it that way, and what do they mean by the microtransactions? Microtransactions are basically like buyable items, skins, etc.
  15. True but i also agree with the dude/dudette that said it's the people that are getting unpleasant. They were always unpleasant, but we were too young and naive to fully notice that.
  16. 1. Not really, these days. If you're not into grinding, then I'd totally say "Slayer all the way" for combat. Varied locales and monsters, and there's decent coin to be had throughout. If you're not a fan of Slayer, then the options are wide. Anything undead is great (giant skeletons, ankous) if you have a salve [e] amulet. You've got your yaks, experiments, flesh crawlers, giant monkeys... can't say much here since I just use Slayer all the time. 2. With that budget, you're basically stuck with the whip and dragon scimitar. They're still both very good for training attack/defense and strength respectively, when coupled with a defender. A Saradomin sword is a good option for strength training - speed and strength of a whip with a good special, but two-handed - but it's out of your price range at around 8-9m, I believe. 3. I've tried Bandos tassets, and personally, I don't think they're worth the 12m for marginally more defense and strength than a dragon plateskirt. Honestly, I'd just say buy Torag's for the tough stuff and a rune platebody plus dragon skirt for weaker enemies. The 11 million you'd save on Bandos by buying Torag's would repair it many, many times over. Plus, as long as you can make 330k in fifteen hours of combat, then you won't have to worry about the repair costs.
  17. I'm sorry but there's nothing 1337 about you at all. Maybe you should only include a drop log in your signature if you actually have drops to record. For only having played a year, that's pretty good. Your bank and total level is better than mine was at the year mark, so you get an 8/10 from me. Don't let nay-sayers drag you down! ;) Oh, and the 8/10 will go up to a 9/10 when that 91 becomes a 99. :)
  18. The Varrock Square clothing store sells them for sure.
  19. As an experiment, I recently bought a set of Verac's armor to try out for Barrows. I was surprised at its effectiveness for my stats (80 attack, 75 strength, 78 defense). With a super set, I was doing runs about the same speed as I would with Slayer Dart + Guthan's, but I was making a bit more profit and still avoiding the use of prayer potions. Equipment: Full Verac's, fury > glory, obsidian/fire/skill cape, ring of life, dragon boots, best RFD gloves, and ranged ammunition (in my case, rune arrows). Inventory: Karil's top + bottom, an MSB, whip + defender for tunnels, a super set, two prayer potions, teleport tablet, spade, and monkfish. I did them in this order: Dharok, Karil, Verac, Torag, Guthan, Ahrim. With 65 prayer, I could get through Dharok and Karil without using any prayer potion doses, and on one run I managed to save a few prayer points for Verac. If you don't feel like trying that out, then just go for the standard Slayer Dart/magic method. Subway's dart picture looks decent, but I would only bring one super attack and prayer potion, and a rune defender plus an unholy book or book of balance, not the holy book. Mage the melee brothers, range Karil with either a rune c'bow with emerald [e] bolts, or MSB with adamant/rune arrows. Use a super attack coupled with DDS specs + defender and a whip for Karil for rune conservation and relative ease, especially at your attack level.
  20. It won't give you a warning, other than the chat box saying "Torag's helm has degraded!" or whatever you're using. It won't say anything like "Torag's helm is about to break," if that's what you were looking for.
  21. They also heal you 1-4 hitpoints per sweet, so it's sort of like a stackable food.
  22. This topic breaks the rules of the Rants forum and should be locked. ;) Seriously, people, we either need to stop making topics like this or change the Rants forum rules.
  23. When I signed up for membership four times (three with one card, one with another), I never had any problems. It accepted my card and I had membership access inside of two minutes. Maybe you just have bad luck. As for the lack of true customer support, I will agree with that.
  24. Find an open guilded altar. Search the official forums for "open altar." Most people light altars so you don't have to.
