I would never bother to do any quests without teleports. Teleports are the most useful thing in the entire game (bank PINs aside), and I can't imagine how I ever got by without them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I rarely ever walk from city to city anymore; teleporting makes everything a thousand times faster.

Done it, back when i was a new member with no cash. I wanted a one click tele so i decided to do port phasmatys quest, so i walked there, from castle wars...

Now think of all the walking you have to do in other games like WoW or Conquer2.0. Runescape just makes you feel fat and lazy, no?

Well in conquer you are able to keep various city gates in your bank and there's always a conductor outside a city, i guess jumping is faster? :shock: Even so, there are various abilities you can use to fasten travelling, like dh, fly , cyclone and such. Guild conductors can be utilised to get to few of the most frequently visited places like AS and BAS. Hence, i dont really think you need to do that much "walking" in conquer? Never played WoW so unsure of its accessibility :?

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

Well, I wasn't to much into it. I had a 55 Troj and a 51 WaterTao, but even for my tastes it was too much walking for me. :XD:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My aunt was a level 85 WaterTao and my Grandfather was a level 110 Warrior ( Yes, he played.. ) and accasionally i'd hear " OMG I HATE ALL THIS WALKING! "

Wow makes you pay for transporting, and it still takes 5 entire minutes on a griffin.

Yea...I hate that. Going acrossed the map takes a good 5-10 minutes. Or when your on a new character and your trying to collect a flightpaths ...it's alot of walking...I don't like it. :|

nice map - here's a list of alternative ways of getting around that aren't teles (I'm sure you've thought of these, but just in case you wanted to add more... confetti.) :)

To answer your question, if I didn't have teles to get around, I wouldn't play any more. I remember how painful it was as f2p with low mage to walk from Varrock to Fally... I literally spent the first two days walking all over the place and being lost the whole time... this was back when I didn't realize there was a world map link. :wall: #-o

I've run from castle wars to Port Phasmatys directly about 5 times in my RS career, 3 in races I set up with friends. It does take a while, but when there's a competitive edge you don't really notice it at all. That said, I use teles daily, as I'm an avid RuneCrafter. Thinking of walking to the Nature altar from Shilo makes me cringe :x

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wonderful map, very very few places cannot be accessed within 5 minutes of anywhere, and you've definitely shown that :)

Of course I rely on teleportation... I'd hoard my super energy potions and use them selectively if teleportation did not exist! I feel sorry for those level 3 skillers who cannot use magic teleportation.

beautiful map! adding nonmagical transportation would be great, and using the method tip.it uses for layering cave levels would be nice. If this was like that, I can easily see it going on to the main site and being used. Its nice for treasure trails etc.

If you're going to make a new map make actually three versions (shouldn't be too hard if you were doing layering like you did).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

first version: teles like you did

 

 

 

second version: non tele transports

 

 

 

third version: everything in first two (would be messy though)

You're still missing quite a few, including the random event teleporters(not to special locations, but to places such as Wiz tower n Lumby Kitchen). I see no wildy ones there though, the Portals are still forms of teleporting.

In all fairness,I shall add my answer from both sides of this topic.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Without teleports(and this is the for it),people would click more,and thus it would be a custom.This will resort in less people begging(asuming it impacts that much)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

However,and I have done One Small favour,it took me 3 days(mainly coz I cant play much)to trek the way.Now add the rest of it,say,gnome stronghold,and by golly the maze,It shall take me 5 days to trek the whole thing.5 kingdoms I guess there are,so 1 day will comprise of travelling Misthalin or Kandarin or whatever you want.

hmm, it seems like teleporting is a huge part of the runescape, with opposite sides of the map just seconds away; compared to other games (i.e. WoW) when large parts of the map need patience to travel.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

slightly off my original topic, though one that seems popular - when i make the guide, how big do you want the map to be? is what i have too small or big?

There are nowadays tons of places you can reach within seconds. You should make another map like that stating:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The location of the modern/ancient/lunar teleports

 

 

 

The location of the item teleports

 

 

 

The start and finish of transport

 

 

 

The directions of transport

 

 

 

Wilderness teleports

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Its gonna look messy, but it will give us a clear view on how easy it truly is to travel in runescape.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I do a mixture of travelling and teleporting. I can easily get the laws, it's just that sometimes I teleport and then realise that I could have made that distance via another method. Also, I have a system where say, the fairy ring system is near the gnome glider system (Feldip hills), and various locations like that. Remember them, it really helps.
