nicrune007
Verac helm is KOOL!!! but i prefer torag set.. good armour.. but use verac skirt coz its cheaper and same def with prayer bonus Hey Nicrune007 , Whats Your Username? 99 Ranged on 2/6/07 99 Hit Points on 9/5/08 99 Defense on 26/4/08 99 Attack on 14/2/09 99 Strength on 25/2/09 99 Slayer on 13/9/09\:D/
Icingdeath
Guthan > Dharok > Verac > Torag > Ahrim > Karil Guthan of course has that nice healing effect. Dharok has fairly nice defense and a good special. Veracs...hmm. Nice for Castle Wars and dueling. And fightning high-level monsters. Torag is cheap and has a very good defense bonus. Ahrim of course has the nice mage bonus. Karil...meh. The defense is fine, but you'd be better with black d'hide for attack. And the special is just terrible...but if you did it right, you could PK with Karil. Lower people's agility so much that when they go to train agility they fail a lot and die! YES HAHAHA. I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways. sprocketme2
I hate to disagree, but i think torags deserves a little more credit. In terms of set special, the list would probly go: Guthan>Verac<>Dharock>Ahrim>Karil>Torag But which set has best defence, since that is what armour is intended to do? The list may be like this: Guthan>Torag>DHarock>Verac So you need to specify what you mean by "best" Overall best = Guthan. Why else would it cost so much? Idarodo
If we're talking about FULL SETS... Guthans are used for Kings, Fight caves, and healing, so they are the most used ones making them the most expensive. Veracs have a good special, good for KQ. They also have a nice prayer bonus. Dharoks have a great special, they are good for strenght training. Torags... best defence bonus in-game, but the set effect and hammers _SUCK_, you never see anyone using full Torags, usually just plate and legs, sometimes helm. Ahrims have a great magic bonus making it the best mage set in-game, but with a very sucky set effect and staff. Like Torags, noone ever uses the full set. Karil is the best ranger set in-game, if you don't include the bow and effect. Like Torag and Ahrim, the set effect sucks... Well, you sometimes see someone with the bow, but it's not worth it for training or anything. Every set has it's pros and cons, it just depends on what you think "the best" means. :) 6,521th to 99 woodcutting | Fletching 98/99 | Idarodo | Combat 90 | Total 1565+ | 38m+ total exp Retired. imaerehw14
The only set I havent had is ahrims. I don't like to train magic in conventional ways, so its usually not at the top of my list to buy. 1) Dharoks: I have trained for hours in this up at the monkey guards and got a lot of xp fast. 2) Torags: Good, cheap defence is very nice. Comes in handy when you dont have enough money for any other set. 3) Guthans: Healing is so nice. I can recall a trip up to wallaskis with a friend when he was trying to get a piece of bone or something to make some of the mage armor. I was able to stay up there for THREE whole days training on magic based NPC's. This trip secured my confidence in the set. 4) Verac: Very good for PvP and KQ. I've used the set for both reasons. I will probebly buy the set again once my stats get a bit higher to use it in barrows, but until then, I will use my torags. 5) Karil: Same range bonus as black dhide, but it is great at barrows with the extra magic defense when i'm ranging ahrim and NOT praying helps a lot. I don't use the coif tho. it's pretty much useless and takes up space in my inventory. 6) Ahrim: Never used, but I'm sure I will soon.

Tsar
I would like to have a set of guthan, for its healing properties. Verac would be a nice set to have aswell. For me, it's a tie between those two. :)
Norton3000
Ahrims are the best looking, but I would choose Dharoks if I want better defense + offence. :-w Retired from RuneScape for as long as possible.
jondea0
mage: obviouly ahrim range: obviously karil but i would say ahrim is very useful because it is cheap, karil is a waste of time realy because its only just as good as black d hide. guthan is useful for long training. verac for pvp. dharok is very specialised good for pc, some pvp, slayer and basicly pve. torag is useful because its cheap but if you have alot of money its no use really overall i ahve to agree with behind you Guthan > Verac > Dharok > Ahrim > Torag > Karil discuss a combat reformation
hero777770
mage: obviouly ahrim =] range: obviously karil ^^ melee: For this I have two choises, maybe guthans if your trainning, fopr slayer, or just trainning a skill, or Veracs for minigames, becasue it can hit through prayer. monkeyboo2
Personally. Ahrims/ veracs. Ahrims cos it owns all melee and veracs cos i can mage and melee in it well. Yeah...Some people just go out of their way to ruin other peoples fun.Sounds like Jagex to me...

Soma2035
Guthans,Karils, Veracs, Torags, Ahrims, Dharoks Guthans - Most effective for almost every non pvp activity. Slayer, training, dagganoth kings, fight caves, etc. Karils - AWESOME magic defence. Perfect for slayer, for getting herbs at aberrant spectres, for owning mages in fight pits, for dagganoth kings. Veracs - Has really nice prayer bonus, can be used at kqs and dks, looks okay. Torags - Affordable, great defence. Not much more to say. Ahrims - Mostly for looks, not to useful except for pking. Dharoks - Real only use is training, and from my experience it's not too much faster than using whip. In my opinion, not worth the expense. Definitely not worth the risk of losing the helm. It might be good for PKing but I don't PK enough to know. Want to learn to Nex? The Nex Hunters are recruiting! Click for more information!
