Right then, I turned thirteen a week ago roughly, and in england I can now get an afterschool-partime-job. So I was wondering APART from a paper round, what is there?

I know I live in Canada, so its different, but I suggest waiting till you are at least 16 before you get a job. Enjoy your freedom now. I seriously do not have weekends anymore.

Ya, enjoy hanging out with your friends and studying for school. You shouldn't be worrying about a job at that age. If you really need the money mow lawns.

Quit RuneScape :)

Move to Tailand...learn how to walk corners.

you're going to spend the next half a century working so why the hell do you want to start now?

A local restaurant or small business, something like that.

And that has made all the difference.

Kidnap yourself, put out a ransom note asking for money, and then wait for it to be paid. Late at night, return yourself to your home and repeat this until you have how much money you need/want.

At 13, I would say to either get a job you would seriously enjoy, or else, don't worry about it. Focus on having some fun and doing good in school. Go and get on your student counsel and volunteer (don't for get to keep track of it) then when you turn 16, you'll be able to get any job you would want.

At 13 in the UK you are not allowed a proper job and nor do you need one at your age. If you don't want to do a paper round you'll have to wait 2 more years to get minimum wage doing something else

You cant, you need to be atleast 14 or 15 to have a job, unless you work for your family restaurant or whatever and they pay you under the table.

I'm going to go against what a few have said and encourage you to get a job. It builds character, gets you money, and experience. Even if you only get a summer job, that would still be good.

However, at 13 I don't know what you would do besides the generic cut lawns job.

You could try asking people in your 'hood if they want their cars washed or their dogs walked. That might bring in a bit.

And once you have enough money, get a knife and hold the dog ransom for some serious cash.

You reminded me of Calvin's dad in that sentence

'Gutting fish in the rain builds character Calvin'.

A lot of my friends (13 + 14 yr olds) are making good cash umpiring for lttle leagues and stuff

before your 16 the only jobs your ganna get are ganna be in a sweatshop or one that is very physically demanding and your boss wont give a damn about you

mate in all honesty your best bet is either a corner shop kind of job, market work at saturday markets, or asking your parents for odd jobs.

I made good money when I was that age mowing peoples yards in our neighborhood. I would get between $20 and $50 a yard.

At 13 years of age, I actually think the only thing you can do is a paper round.

Babysitting?

I made $100+ when I was 13-14ish babysitting younger kids in my neighborhood. My sis frequently babysat at about your age, and made a couple hundred off some rich parents that went out a great deal.

Kinda depends where you live; suburbs are much better for that kind of stuff.

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

Get a paperround or something.
