tintin113
Stop whining, you were muted, accepted that, and now u are complaining that you can't talk!? Get over it lol, Jagex doesn't want you talking to other players in any shape or form over their website. That's why they muted you! :wall: Thanks to Quarra for the awesome sig!Xbox360 Gamertag = Tintin113

imaerehw14
i think this point has already been made but what you are suggesting, if applied to the real world, is letting a murder go to an amusement park because they added a new ride. he hasn't murdered anyone after he was put into jail, but he still hasnt served his time. you might think that since you havent spammed since you were perm muted (go figure) you deserve to at least try out the chat. well for one, i think i have already explained that, and 2 what would be the point of letting you try out a chat update? if they already have you banned from chatting then what would be the point of letting you try out an update you are banned from. impractical and never going to happen. Kilo
Lol first few posts on here, people were being real hard [wagon], eh if you muted you shouldn't be able to talk in clan chat but I don't think your ban was just, but thats not the point of the thread you made. Lefke123
the muted people can still HOST channels :) they can still do something theres nothing that stops them from making a new acc, is there? as for the whole "deserve it blabla", my friend played for 6 years, resulting every single violation adding up, now he got muted, perm... total 1980, 170m exp... he just started a new char lol, live with it, it happens EDIT, being punished isnt supposed to be fun lmao, so they should live with what theyve done Take your time to post on my blog please!Open up your hate and let it flow into me, madness is the gift that has been given to me... spooferfish
Is that really fair? That's sort of like adding to the punishment really. I think Jagex should lift a few mutes so we can at least try the new chat out. Or not...You were muted for a reason :-$ Exactly. You were muted, and are being punished, you don't get to be free just cuz they released something new. People in jail can't get out just because they make a flying car or something new like that. *edit* To the person above me, i've played about that long too, and I don't have any blackmarks. spikerkid
Your fault really. You shouldn't of gotten muted if you wanted to try it out. They did mention it in January so don't say you didn't know it was coming out. Just wait your 1-8 months you have left then try it. tewas
Not to be jerk to lemeja123 but i think that one time wasn't the main reason why you got muted. Either you are not telling us something or there is something in your past that resulted in permanent mute. It might sound unfair for you, but essentially you broke rules and Jagex punished you. numa
all u people have never gotten muted before! i was hacked and got a perm mute cuz the hacker started cussing in CATHERBY (wana be mod hotspot) tried appealing, apparently jagex has enough information to conclude i was on the account at the time, now why cant they show it to me :-$ they should remove all offenses that happened in bulk on the same day (example, like 10 offenses for getting reporting within the same hour). while ur in catherby, they should remove the report option accept for mods. cuz of how many wana be mods there are there. u try cussing, 3 times in catherby. and see what its like being muted! we have to buy at the sellers prices, we cant ask for help, we cant even tell our friends that we are about to die and we need them to get our stuff. we are reported all the time for autoing! we get reported for scamming cuz we have to put money in the trade window to show how much we want then we remove it! when they ask u if ur muted and u nod, they always say "lol, ha ha" or "u deserved it noob". we usually make a new account and waste all these hours training it back up to our former stats. THEN WE HAVE TO DO ALL THE QUESTS ALL OVER AGAIN! desert treasure, legends quest, MOURNINGS END PART 2!!! mutes are horrible. i will list my stages of being muted 1. still playin and dont realise ur muted 2. stand somewhere stupidly trying to talk 3. some guy says "r u muted?" 4. u respond no and he keeps asking u "r u muted" 5. u check appeal offense/ban and notice ur perm muted 6. denial, u think its all just a dream and turn the computor off and go to sleep 7. u wake up and check ur appeal offense/ban and ur still muted 8. u look at the appeals and r like "wtf i didnt do that" or "omg thats not offensive" 9. appeal offenses, jagex appeal checking system denies ur appeals and everytime says "were sorry, we have conclusive information u were in control of ur account at this time" even when u dont say that u wernt! 10. anger, usually spam runescape fansites. 11. try playing runescape for awhile 12. cry 13. make a new account or use IRC chat some people go as far as sending angry emails to jagex (usually getting automaticly answered with some gay messaging system) some people call jagex and they say they cant do anything some people send angry letters to jagex, which arnt answered I HAVE SEEN VIDEOS OF THIS ONLINE! some people who live in england go to their office and start yelling at everyone, in 1 video they smashed a computor! they usually got asked "what is ur runescape name" and their accounts were deleted, they are also almost always thrown out by security. gota problem with my lazur? 123Yourgone
I think muted players should be able to use clan chat, i mean, your in the chat with your friends, not in public, and they have the option to kick and report you if you get abusive. truffoo
Whether or not your muting was justified or not, allowing clan chat defeats the purpose of a mute, which is to indicate that certain ways of talking are inappropriate and doing so will make game life more difficult. Personally I think there should be layered muting, 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, forever. And I don't think you should be able to go to permanent mute without first going through 6 month mute. I'd think most people would smarten up after 6 months (or have quit) or be deserving of permanent mute. Lt_Wolfe
I think mutes should be able to talk in clan chat, considering they'd only be heard by people who choose to hear them. :P You don't get the point... you can say the same thing about normal: "just add them to your ignore list." The point of the matter is, you did something wrong, whether it was a big deal or not, and now you're paying for it. What more do you want? "omg I'm so sorry, you should be able to talk, it's wrong of them to stop you from doing so?" Well I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to agree with everybody else here, and say that you were the idiot that didn't follow the rules, and now you're paying for your mistakes. At least now you know enough not to go spamming, and that's what they want. Pure F2P Hiscores
JordanGM
Holy crap, you guys are being stupid. Everyone has probably spammed there clan name a few times, he just got unlucky and someone reported him. I think that Jagex should review some permanent mutes and if its a kind-of stupid reason for the mute, to let them use clan chat.
mario_sunny
that will teach spammers like you and anyone else whodares to spam in the future. Oh, like you haven't spammed at all in your runescape life? I've never agreed to the idea of permanent mutes. Now I can see if someone does a severe rule-breaking ingame in front of a moderator they should deserve a mute, but temporary just seems too harsh. What I'm saying is, with the temporary one you can learn from your mistakes during your punishment period and never do it again. But with permanent mutes, jagex doesn't give you a second chance. Take this thread starter(I can't find your name :| , sorry) for instance, he's obviously learned from his mistakes and will probably never do it again, but he will never get that chance. Muted people deserve second chances. I do not agree, though, that jagex viewed this as "raising the punishments." To them it was just another update. In other words, I don't think jagex made this update to increase the punishment, it was simply an update that had been suggested many times by players and need to be added in this year(according to jagex's promise in early 2007 following the clan riot). I'm unsure if you are suggesting this though, I could be wrong. Oh and to all the rest of you who keep insulting the thread starter- try to show some respect. Obviously he has learned from his mistakes, that's a big thing to do, surely he deserves some sympathy for that. I do not think he appreciates these negative comments. By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( . hellbellz
Wow, Mario summed up my thoughts up. kdb148
To all the people saying "z0mg u did teh crime now u must pay teh price lol!" please just STFU. He was muted for spamming at a clan event, most likely "XXX on Player YYY" which all clans do. He was just unfortunate enough to have been reported by some wanna-be mod with no life. I have been temp-muted before by a [bleep]wad player mod just for saying "rawr I'll bite you <3" to one of my friends when she said "bite me" to someone else. Not all mutes are deserved. Right, and we can really be sure that's all he did to get muted? Surely not all mutes are deserved, but not all players are honest about their crimes. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that most of the people who complain about being muted/banned/whatever are guilty of worse things than what they claim they were banned/muted for. My record is completely clean, whereas the OP has TWO black-marks, so obviously he didn't learn from his first time being reported. And besides, how do you know he learned from his "mistakes?" He has been muted, there's been no chance to prove that he has, but there is the proof that he hasn't learned (a la his two black-marks). He knowingly broke the rules, even after he had been given a WARNING (the first black mark), so he deserves, and receives NO sympathy from me.
