August 31, 200718 yr How popular is the God Wars dungeon? Each time I play for the first time a new, huge, time-devouring update from Jagex I'm never dissapointed. Even if I don't currently have the levels/money for a new update I'm still always happy that it's there even just [wagon] an option for the future. After being on Tipitchat for a couple of days I've seen some players talk about the GWD in disgust, and others saying it's the best one they've ever seen, which made me wonder if it was possibly to get an average scroe for each major update to see how successful they've been.. -------------- Well, it's been a few days since the release of the God Wars dungeon and I think the majority of players should now have at least some experience of it, so I'm asking for each and every player to give his or her rating on it. This whole thread is simply here to get the average player score out of 100 on the God Wars Dungeon and is completely quantitative so the reasons why you give the GWD your score don't affect this in anyway - although if you personally want to write maybe a review on it then I'm sure one of the numerous Runescape newspapers which seem to pop up like rabbits would love to publish it. Just post your rating out of /100 on the August the 27th 2007 God Wars Dungeon update and I'll add it into the overall score and get the average. I'm letting this run for 1 single week from today's date, so if you haven't tried the update yet make sure you do before the 6th of September to give it a score! :) Edit!: Although not necessary it would be nice if you could add in your combat levels when you give your rating so that I can spilt up the results to see how it affected different levels. If you've already posted a rating and want to give your combat level then could you please edit your first post instead of making a new one, thanks. :P Why is it out of 100? Because with 10 you can't vary your score without running into decimal places so it might as well be /100. Bear in mind that what one person's 85/100 may be another player's 67/100, so don't worry about other people's scores. What you think a 90/100 score means is up to you, and how hard it is for an update to get a 90+ score is your decision and yours alone. Judging by the success of this thread I may decied to check the player score for future updates, big or small. Results - after page 3 (49r - ignore, personal use) Overall score = 91.3 / 100 (91.31/100) ̢̢̮ââ‰â¬ÅÃâò0.84 Combat level divided average scores: Combat level ------ Average score 120+ --------------- 98.3 ̢̢̮ââ‰â¬ÅÃâü1.7 119~110 ----------- 91 ̢̢̮ââ‰â¬ÅÃâò2 109~100 ----------- 83.6 ̢̢̮ââ‰â¬ÅÃâò7 99~90 -------------- 86.9 ̢̢̮ââ‰â¬ÅÃâü1.4 89~80 -------------- 99.5 = 79~70 -------------- 88.3 ̢̢̮ââ‰â¬ÅÃâò3.3 69~60 -------------- 10 =

August 31, 200718 yr I give it 73/100 I was expecting a larger, more complex dungeon, with more levels and various challenges. This is going to turn into another Barrows after a while. Pretty much what Dragon said.Thread terminated.I guess that means I'm the thread Terminator? No Tip.Iters were harmed in the making of this post.
August 31, 200718 yr 100/100, I really didn't like training combat but at the moment this was released, I really want to train it again.
August 31, 200718 yr Its probably in my opinion one of the best updates Jagex has done for ages, good variety of monsters to fight including my fav the Goraks. The boss rooms could be bigger so I can run further away, other than that It is great. i only wish I had worked more on Slayer and agility Gorak Chronicles Ended, thinking of something new for next week
August 31, 200718 yr Author What the heck.. I know each person has their reasons for giving their scores but.. 100/100s already? I thought there'd only be maybe 2 or 3 100/100s after a whole week. Understand that 100/100 is a perfect score, where no improvements can be made. If you can think of even a single impovement to the God Wars Dungeon maybe you should consider whether or not 100/100 is justified.

And to me, 100/100 means that it is the best ever update, not neccesarily perfect.
August 31, 200718 yr It is the most incredible high-level update so far, and easily covers a large variety of high level content. 90/100 (nothings perfect) 99 Fletching 99 Attack 99 Constitution 99 Cooking 99 StrengthGamertag: H8tebringer

I'm not saying you can't give it that score, but I know the average Runescapian is not exactly.. clever. Just want to clarify what 100/100 is commonly known as - Perfect.

August 31, 200718 yr 80/100 reasons why it doesnt get a perfect score: -people have found bugs to exploit the bandos boss monster already. -Theyres isnt any new unique low level slayer monsters for the like of the mid range player. The high levels get a new slayer monster and i know that this dungeon is geared towards the higher levels but they could have thrown in a few new slayer monsters for the likes of me who can get into the dungeon and roam around and such but cant take on the boss monsters unless in a large group.I keep going their getting gunned down whenever i enter that dungeon and what for?nothing really just exploration and after a while the novelty will wear off. -some of the requirements to enter the boss monsters lair are ridiculous.you can kill 40 imps to enter the zammy one yet to get into the armadyll one you need to kill 40 of the level 120+ flying birds meaning that trips into that boss's domain are few and far bbetween. A way i would have improved it is a lot like the implings scroll to get the net, their would be a plaque near the door which would say something like"kill a 10 bloodveld,10 spiritual warriors and 10 spiritual rangers before entering my domain"Maybe this is why we havent seen the sara sword yet or took this long for a full set of armadyll armour to have been gathered. -The effects of using protection prayer should be dealt with more harshly or just drain all prayer once entering the boss areas.Jagex says that over using prayer would lead to bad circumstances but im still seeing 20 or so people camping out at bandos praying range and just clobbering it with no skill or tactics. -A steam staff as a treat for mages is a little unfair.not that mages didnt destroy the combat triangl with ancient magics but they could do with something more worthwile. as you can see theyres not much i find wrong with it but its still a fantastic update.ill not list the good since it pretty obvious but thats what i thought about it.
August 31, 200718 yr Combat 113 Overall: 65/100. Loved the actual cave and bosses, but GS is overpowered, combat system is destroyed. The GS: 15/100. I'll admit it, it's a cool weapon. But it's nothing more than a gimmick for noobs to go WOW and spend 1 year of membership cash to get it. Hitting 60+ easily is just unreasonable. Bandos armor: 90/100. I love this set of armor. Perfect price range, one of the better looking armor sets, and adds complexity to the game (high range defense, strength bonus, prayer bonus). Dragon boots: 50/100. A let-down. Looks horrendous. Armadyl armor: 65/100. I like the stats. But it's way too inaccessible for it to be practical, and it looks ugly. Steam staff: 65/100. I like the concept. It's just ugly and overpriced. The cave: 100/100. Absolutely amazing. Ever wanted to find street prices of RS items? August 31, 200718 yr 90/100 Few improvement could be made, I'm just to lazy to think up any... Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Oscar Wilde
August 31, 200718 yr Combat level: 109 (rising as I train for money to buy supplies to do more in the GWD) Overall rating: 95/100 This is an absolutely fantastic update, and there are no problems I see with it worth mentioning. The dungeon is fun, the equipment is excellent and the requirements (dungeon and equipment) are good. As soon as I get the supplies I'm going to be spending most of my time there for a while.
August 31, 200718 yr 90/100 armor rocks, wepons rules, monsters are tough! but I have to admit that godsowrd is way too powerful for our current cap, we need to raise it if we can keep the game from getting out of hand
August 31, 200718 yr I give it 73/100 I was expecting a larger, more complex dungeon, with more levels and various challenges. This is going to turn into another Barrows after a while. I agree. it will become like barrows for higher levels. kind of like how DKs were for the KQ. but overall, i think it was a decent update. some things could be changed, some things could be added, etc. it would have been nice to seen a mage update other than a water/air staff. unless you train with lunars or teleport to falador a lot i dont see the use. the new range armor is nice because of the negative bonuses for mele. however, i dont see anyone pking in it anytime soon, so that kind of backfired. maybe if it was a 50% drop from them, sure. but not at the current rate of it being dropped. black dhide will still be the chosen hide of choice for meleing mages. i wish it was a bit more expansive, like after you defeat each boss a certain number of times, you could go and fight the god itself. after each fight, your kc for the bosses start over. the gods would drop really good items of course, and pretty much a 100% drop of something good, justbecause you took the time to get the kc for the bosses, then killed enough bosses to get a team into the god area. overall, i would have to say 79/100. a lot of potential, and the execution could have been better, but a very good update overall.
