Ourania, a blow to runecraft pkers?

Featured Replies

You can craft Bloods and Souls. It's rare, but I have had it happen.

Due to the recent release of the Ourania altar we have seen an altar which is free from the dangers of the wilderness (however still dangerous from NPCs I believe), faster exp than abyss runecrafting however it lacks in profit.

I have a few friends who are not in the rcing for the profit but merely the want of a respectable 99 skill. So my question for you to discuss is, "Will the release of the Ourania runecraft altar give a considerable blow to Runecraft pkers?" Will we see less runecrafters using the abyss for fast exp thus see a decline in pkers? Or will people stray away from the randomness of the new altar?

I've given you the basics, now go forth and discuss!

People going for exp didn't use the abyss. It was good exp but fast laws (w99?) or fast airs (w16?) was better and thats what people used. So I don't think it will change anything, people who craft for money will still use abyss and people going for exp will just switch from laws and airs to new altar.

I think it may increase autoers though... With only pure essence being able to use I wouldn't be surprised to see prices go up.

If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.

^^^At least I'm not the only crazy one

I expect to see a big company like ffl come out of this, since its faster xp if you had a company of that size for rcer's and its not that dangerous for the little people. Then again I could be wrong.

Well to all the abyss pk'ers out there: "Shove this in your pipe and smoke it" (I have been waiting way to long to say that :P ). It's way easyer for your average joe to level Rune crafting now, you don't even need glories  . And with thousands of fire runes that need wasting, I can keep it up for a veary long time.

Heh, that might happen. Would be kind of interesting. But, would the profits be good enough? You could get air runes one minute, and blood runes the next.

This new alter is not for big profit, and at most, you break even, and that is rare. The only thing i really see is that this alter is good for very fast xp considered to the other ways to train (natures through abyss)

Runecrafting will become a less "rare" or likened skill because of fast exp.

FFlers that want a lesser loss as well as some abyss rcers that want faster exp uses this altar. Nothing has really changed. Rc pking is not a threat anyway, their presence will not change anything much.

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

some ppl will perfer tha abyess to this but some wont and those who don't will use this more so it all depends on who you(or that person) is/are.

finally

LOL invite? PM me :)

It's hardly a blow. more of a light finger tap on the wrist. The new altar won't affect those who rc for profit/runes so rc pkers won't be greatly affected.

Possibly the only person whos actually thought it out?

Geez 90% of people i see rcing are doing it for profit not exp.

I seriously feel like logging it to kill these people bashing rc pkers just so theyll shut up, its in the wild for a reason, anything goes, if you dont like it use the altars or new altar simple as that.

Quit. PM me if you play The Conduit to exchange friend codes.

It defentilly(sp) will but I have no problem with that rc pking is girly

Go runecrafting at the abyss and I'll show you who's girly. :x

Why does everyone seem to think every rc update will reduce the amount of rc pkers..they'll always be there, this update doesn't change much since most crafters using the abyss are using it for profit, not xp.

So yeah runecrafters, your friends mr tb and ms entangle as well as their son junior dds are still around. :)

There's cake through here, apparently.
I like this altar. I don't like having to join into a business (and the insane nonsense that goes on behind closed doors...if you have been there you know what I'm talking about) or hire runners just to level something at a decent rate.

This has just given an opportunity to level runecrafting to it's potential without relying on runners or having to stand around wearing a "shop" uniform. For profit, use the abyss. For experience, use the Z.M.I. altar. For insanity, use a Runecrafting official world "shop".

"But those who worked harder for it deserve the recognition more and this will just make more capes and make it easier for everyone to get" ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ False.

Those with a high level or 99 already (most) have used runners and have gotten the same/greater experience per hour. This is still a slow skill to level which many people will just not have the patience for, it's not like you can pull in 200k experience an hour here.

Runecrafting in my opinion has just became more rich and fully textured with the addition of newer ways to level. This update is not the Pest Control or Pyramid Plunder of runecrafting, so do not fear.

Edit: Meaning, if the point was lost...there will always be people crafting for profit and not merely only experience so no I don't think this is much of a blow to Runecrafting Pk'ers at all. I think they will need to step their game up though because those who are easier to kill will most likely be leveling at the Z.M.I.

I feel inclined to agree completely. Personally, I'm still going to use the Abyss because the thing with ZMI is that the runes are random (duh). So you get experience, but a bunch of runes you may not even need. I'd rather level slowly at the abyss and get cosmics, natures, and laws everytime then use the ZMI and get runes I can't even use to train magic.

It really all depends on your point of view. ::'

Cowards can't block Warriors.

I personally feel that it will have little effect. I would say in my opinion that the majority of the players who used the abyss before the update will continue to use it, as most of the players were in it for the profit. Now, however, the update may be a good option for players with very high rcing levels. I have not seen many results on the runes given by the new altar, but it may be of interest to some.

Definitely not interesting enough to leave rc pkers alone in the wildy to fight other pkers.

i agree yet i never used to use teh abyss anyway because of pkers.i think im gonna be using this though because im sick to death with being pked every run i make and now i switch to running up the long side of the river the pkers just move across one.it might affect it but the people who were heavy users of te abyss wont be really bothered

RC pkers are yellow scumbags, so I have no sympathy for them.

*blows raspberry* Jog on!

td2sig.jpg

People make more money by nat crafting, especially if they are level 91, than they do from this new alter. So any money makers will still be feeding the pkers.

tifsiggy.jpg

Thanks to Quarra for the awesome sig!

Xbox360 Gamertag = Tintin113

it might hurt them a bit but like many have said most rc for the money so abyss will still have a lot of rc'ers traveling its paths

RC pkillers are low-life cowards. If they fail to kill you while you're entangled and you start fighting back, they run away without even trying to put up a fight, although you don't have any weapons or armour.

Pretty much what Dragon said.

Thread terminated.

I guess that means I'm the thread Terminator?

No Tip.Iters were harmed in the making of this post.

Rc Pkers will be getting less glories but there r still a lot of ppl who use the abyss to gain money from rcing. But tbh I havn't seen a rc pker in awhile

All I can say is: What took 'em so long to make it?

There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.

Runecrafting is hardly one of the neglected skills is it...

Sig.jpg

You mean there are people who actually consider RC Pking an actual pk event? LMAO

They need to stop playing wimpy and get out there and fight people who can fight back. If this is the best they can do pking, they might want to take up knitting as a hobby because it has the same amount of tact involved.

It defentilly(sp) will but I have no problem with that rc pking is girly

And smithing is girly

I hope you realize how stupid that is, not only is it sexist, but its a redundant statement. Get off your macho ego and chill out. Rc pkers will exist as long as people are interested in making money via abbysal runecrafting. And from what I've seen, they seem to be sticking to the abbys for money.

Is that sarcasm or are you that easy to get mad?

Maybe Jagex wanted to create a somewhat easy way to get runecraft experience with little risk involved but not much for rewards. I've tried it out for a few runs and disliked it. But I'm 58 runecraft so I'm thinking its geared towards lv 70+ runecrafters.

This topic is about runecraft pkers, not about the update.

I never got to finish. The abbyss won't get as much use with this new altar so there should be less of a problem with Rc pkers.

If you were not finished then why did you hit the post button?

Once the novelty wears off, people will return to the abbys. Now this is a very quick way for xp, You gain so little profit that it is nowhere near what you could make rcing nats.

People will get just as many glories off of RCers.
