December 16, 200718 yr Before, this was based on how much players trusted each other to share the drops, Jagex is now making a trade limit so only 3 k gp can go in favor of other players. So basicly, if you and a friend are killing the kalphite queen, and you get a chain drop. When you sell it you get 14 mil or however much it costs. Now, how do you give half of that to your friend? you can't trade it with the 3 k limit. Lootshare wont give you both 7 mil, so how? I want to see how jagex plans to fix this, or group monster killing is dead... Socc | 99 Magic | 95/99 Range | 99 Defence | 99 Hitpoints | 96/99 Summoning |Join SODB for some monster Slayin! |
December 16, 200718 yr Simply put, there WON'T be loot sharing. The only thing you can do is hope that next time its you that gets the good drop. There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.
December 16, 200718 yr Through the lootshare servers! That's why they created it... Sure there is no way that both you and your friend can split the profits anymore, but lootshare makes it a pretty even trade between the two of you.
December 16, 200718 yr they are working on/taking suggestions for a way to split profit from drops. dedicate your idle computer power to a scientific project.

In Soviet Russia, glass eats OTers. Alansson Alansson, woo woo woo! Pink owns yes, just like you!GOOOOOOOOOO ALAN! WOO!
December 16, 200718 yr the best suggestion i have heard is getting shares in a item so once you got 100 shares (100%) you could go to ge and exchange there or sell there. one would assume it would take advantage of the option to buy partial shares directly or that GE would combine partial shares automatically to make whole items (IE you put up 25 shares and player b wants a whole item, he buys 25 shares form you and 75 from another player and out pops a whole item and he never knew that he was buying shares) The following statement is true. The previous statement is false. 60% of all statistics are made up 90% of the time andrew i love you & want you to have my babys!!! Sure there is no way that both you and your friend can split the profits anymore, but lootshare makes it a pretty even trade between the two of you. Have you ever actually used Lootshare? I don't think he has I've had it with the people that say "OMFG USE LOOT SHARE!!" and have never actually killed a boss monster or used the system. Lootshare isn't great at all. I once duo'd at dks with it on and it kept saying "you have a greater chance at the next drop". My friend got all the drops except one, which was before we turned the damn thing on.

Sure there is no way that both you and your friend can split the profits anymore, but lootshare makes it a pretty even trade between the two of you. Yeah, it's pretty obvious you haven't used lootshare. Like stated above, all it simply does is announce who gets each item, and it's not based on who did the most damage, there's a "points" type of system. If someone keeps getting items, and the other guy doesn't, the other guy's chance for an item increases. Goes back and forth. Lootshare doesn't "split up" the money. I for one (sticking with this KQ example) have killed over 200 KQs with a friend of mine, we have yet to get one worthy drop. If the time finally comes, and HE gets a chain, what now? Do we pursue more until I get my own? There's a chance that I might get a d2h or something else like that - and then HE gets another chain. It is not guaranteed "splitting 50/50" or anything of that nature. So personally, I still will be team monster hunting, and I will be using lootshare come January (that is, if the drops aren't about 50/50 with a friend due to skill difference) - but, I hope hope that they will implement a new plan. They could tie lootshare in with GE - This idea has been brought out before. Something along the lines of whoever was in the clanchat and currently under the LS, when that item is sold on the GE, those people get their percentages. Something along this line - obviously more thorough than this, but something can be done, and I believe they will do something to tailor it to us monster hunters better. (and most importantly, not affecting the RWT changes that they've implemented) -Man, I really do love Runescape, and I'm sure if it was a real person I would of asked it to marry me by now.
December 16, 200718 yr Out of curiosity, does anyone know if big monster drops like this have changed in price much yet since the update? Seems like something to invest in, assuming jagex doesn't do anything. Either way, I doubt it would be a risky investment. Personally though I do hope they do something with the GE and an item drop, otherwise there's no reason to try for dragon chains the way things are.
December 16, 200718 yr I actually asked about this to customer support and this is the answer I got. I'm not really satisfied with this answer. The Jagex mod told me (with what seemed like a little contempt) that the answer to my question was in the knowledge base, when clearly it wasn't. Oh well, only time will tell. I think Jagex will fix loot share soon enough (unless they really DO hate their players :-k ). Proud owner of a Quest cape!
December 16, 200718 yr i believe the bit about the knowledge base was just something they put on all messages i wouldn't be surprised if when they introduced new trading rules they introduced a system of sharing

December 16, 200718 yr Slow much? You wont be able too thats what all these rants and complaints are about. Quit. PM me if you play The Conduit to exchange friend codes.

Sure there is no way that both you and your friend can split the profits anymore, but lootshare makes it a pretty even trade between the two of you. How the hell does it make it fair [developmentally delayed]? Think before you post. Lootshare randomly gives the drops out to a player, so if one player gets the chain the other player gets the bones/ashes or w/e the kq drops. [blingkachi50]

Sure there is no way that both you and your friend can split the profits anymore, but lootshare makes it a pretty even trade between the two of you.Lootshare sucks, dude. Me and my friend went to kill the chaos ele. We had Lootshare turned on for the hell of it. He got a d2h, sold it, and since his account was "high risk" he couldn't split the profits with me. New trade system = FAIL The game.
December 16, 200718 yr lootshare.. end of doesn't mean it's fair, just means it gets shared... yeah that's right, jagex stinks.
December 16, 200718 yr I'm pretty sure they'll add something to the trade to make it so it's easier to split profits. That's probably the real reason why they didn't want to change it until January. They wanted to hear what we wanted.
December 16, 200718 yr so sure as sparta is madness. you know that jagex is thinking of a way to split drops :D  My private chat is always ON.Winner of The Tip.It Teamcape Outfit Contest!6 years. 1 dragon CS drop and some barrows, bad luck?
December 17, 200718 yr I actually asked about this to customer support and this is the answer I got. I'm not really satisfied with this answer. I think Jagex will fix loot share soon enough (unless they really DO hate their players :-k ). You made two big mistakes in your message to jagex: 1) Didn't describe the problem fully. To someone who has never heard of the dilemma or has not read this thread, you're basically asking "how do you share loot" the obvious answer which the mod sent you is "use loot share to share loot". Be more specific "we can now no longer split profit from an expensive and rare drop because of the trade system" 2.) You threatened to quit. The initial reaction anyone gets when reading "change this or i quit" is "ugh. another whiny noob who makes false threats to get what he asks for". Say byebye to your message, cuz "gimme this or i quit"= just ignore. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.[/hide]Apparently a lot of people say it. December 17, 200718 yr Simply put, there WON'T be loot sharing. The only thing you can do is hope that next time its you that gets the good drop. How can you be so sure of this? Myself I believe that Jagex will add a new system, or maybe update the old, loot share system. This would make group killing much better. Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
