Skill Indexes by Type, that one is a bit cluttered.

any chance of perhaps enlarging or some method of clarification?

Wow, thanks for the work. I actually hope to many people don't look at this to closely. Basically telling what to skill, sell, buy, ect.

 Once again thanks for the info. :-s Where in the world to you get this info? :-k

I really like reading these, I don't understand all of it but the bits I do get are quite interesting and I enjoy finding these relevant to my own benefit. :)

I Really gain from this, but the only thing is, i didnt care to read the guides of it, too much to memorize, so instead, i look at the summary. Eagerly awaiting next week.

Ps. it should be interesting to see how long you can keep up with this insanley good job :D !

Very nice graphs. And very informative too. Thank you for posting this here on Tip.It!

Thank you for being so generous.

Thank you Qeltar! You rule! =D>

Although I have no idea what any of them means, as I do computer science for my degree not economics, and I have not read the quick guide (which I will do, give me an hour or so), all I have to say is this:

Did you pick the acronym and find random words that would fit into it? Or was it just a happy accident? As queltar has made his disapproval of the GE known so often, I can't help but wonder if it's deliberate.

Yes, I know that twerp is spelled with an 'e', but they're pronounced the same, so I'm curious.

Goals to get my skills back up to a barely respectable level on the high scores:

Currently going for Bone to Peaches spell. It's amazing how boring doing the same repetitive task is! Stupid MTA

This is the kind of thing Jagex should be doing, except if they did it it wouldnt be nearly half as good as this. Hopefully Sly Wizard wont hijack this thread.

Getting sick of herb seed drops. Every day i have to reset the prices to minimum on the ones that im selling.

this is a load of bs no offence... How do u get these numbers??

I'm totally at a loss to understand the herb/ herb seed differential, and the simultaneous drop of pots. Are people training farming and making their own pots? I doubt it! my guess is this will correct itself and the herb seeds are quite a nice investment opportunity.

Just because you suck at economists doesn't mean qeltar does.

Right, this is why I am starting to hate TIF.

I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete.
So, what is 1.111... equal to?

10/9.

Please don't continue.

Well, aside from the first part, yeah... I was wondering where the numbers came from 'cuz some of them seem to be plucked from thin air (Or lack any kind of explanation as to how they were calculated, such an income and affordability)? :-k

this is a load of bs no offence... How do u get these numbers??

It's called research, you should try it some time, it helps you get less stupid.

Anyways, good job Queltar and I'm glad to see that things are stabilizing a bit more this week.

EDIT - Signature far exceeds our sig limits but since it's so colourful you can keep it.

For any of you wondering about how you get these numbers, it all a matter of research. Looking at all the prices every day, Summing the up after one week and then comparing to the previous week. i found the perfect word.. Duh! -.-

Actually I dislike you to do this because it reveals a bunch of trends I found out and am investing in >_>.....Let people figure out themselves.

This is great! Thanks a lot Qeltar :D

Hey off topic: Did Jagex say they were going to add price graphs to the Grand Exchange? I thought I heard that somewhere :-k

[insert birds flying in a circle here]

Yes, that sig was annoying.

Going back to my post:

1.) It seems to me that income has been calculated by taking the per cent increase/decrease of every item in a specific category and then adding them together. If anything, that measures the change in profitability (Whilst ignoring things such as time constraints and/or cost of investment) in a group (As a whole) and not necessarily a change in income from those who engage in those activities. Take woodcutting for example. Chances are you can (And should be able to) generate a higher income in woodcutting today than you could have a month or so ago.

2.) Erm... What the hell is affordability? If I had to guess, I'd say that affordibility merely measures an item's day-to-day price. That is, the lower the price the more affordable the item whilst the higher the price the less affordable to item. To me, that's a rather simplistic way of measuring affordability because it ignores the price changes in other items in relation to the item in question. For example, let's say you make all your money from herblore. If the price of, say, rares go down while the price of potions go up, then rares would be more affordable. But if the price of rares go up while the price of potions go down, then rares would become more expensive to you. If both the price of potions and rares go down but the price of rares decrease at a higher percentage than that of potions, then rares become more affordable. Conversely, if the price of both potions and rares go down but the price of potions decrease at a higher rate than that of rares, then rares become more expensive as far as you're concerned. The same goes with a rise in the price in both potions and rares. Henceforth why I'm sorta' confused about the whole affordability thing.

...But I'm sure you knew that, as it's-- In your own words-- Pretty 'Duh!' >_>

I'm really glad you decided to post this here. I loved last week's article, and so far this one has been just as great. May I suggest though, that at the beggining of the article, you put a link to the full version of the article along with a link to the quick guide?

Also, seeing as... certain "people" [morons should I call them?] dont seem to be able to read the article, or see the link to the quick guide, it might be adviseable that you put a link to the quick guide in

You obviously didn't read the article very carefully. Affordability measures how affordable an item is if you buy it with cash. Not fish.

Ummm... I know. Apparently you didn't catch what I said. Cash has to come from somewhere. It doesn't just appear out of thin air (For arguments sake, we're going to assume that not everyone in Runescape generates cash through high alching). People typically generate cash through the use of a skill. That is, they produce a finished good and then sell those goods for cash. Using my example, if your way of generating cash is through herblore, then rares become more affordable under three circumstances:

1.) If the price of potions go up while the price of rares go down, don't change or rise at a rate which is less than the rate at which the price of potions rose.

2.) If the price of potions go down while the price of rares go down at a greater rate.

3.) If the price of potions remain unchanged while the price of rares go down.

Qeltar's charts don't seem to account for this fact, which is why I'm confused as to where he got his numbers for affordability as, like I said earlier, they seem to be solely based on an item's day-to-day price increase/decrease while ignoring other factors.

Let me illustrate what I mean: Let's say a house currently costs $400K and I make $60K per year. Now let's assume that next year the price of that house falls to $350K but my income falls to $50K a year. Realistically, while the price of the house has fallen, it's more expensive to purchase now than it was last year because my income has a greater percentage decrease than the house did. As it seems to me, currently Qeltar would say that the house is more affordable because he only looks at the $50K decrease while ignoring other factors. Hence why I don't really understand the affordability category :-k
