One thing I haven't seen much mention of (unless I've missed something major) is how the monsters will look. I'm imagining a pretty cool looking, textured dragon right now...

Hmmm, Overall i'm happy with the looks. I'm really can't wait to see my mage cape emote in all its shiny sparkling aura goodness.

 

 

 

Thinking about that, what about the Fire cape? I'm hoping if the water looks so much better that maybe all the lava in rs will get its needed makeover.

 

 

 

And the spells? Oh how I hope to see my sparkling cubes freeze everyone in Cws, and maybe some lighting coming from my staff.

 

 

 

I do fear that our new melee combat actions will look like some of the skeletons in the game atm, personally I don't care for it and the death animation is a few seconds to long for me.

 

 

 

And am I the only one who thinks the guy in the Robin hat looks like the Alien off of AvP?

I'm most excited about castle wars being updated. I hope they don't mess with tactics like flag clicking and cading.

I wonder what will hapen to runescape toolkits like Swiftkit/Swiftswtich.

 

Looks like there is almost no way to intergrate them into that.

 

 

 

Other then that the graphical update looks awesome. I cant wait for it.

Your processor cannot be upgraded unless you buy a new one. However, you can't just install a new processor in an old computer, you will have to buy a new computer.

Yeh you're quite right, what I meant to say was not what I typed, so here goes:

 

Buying a new pc for a game is fine, I think people who buy pcs to make videos on games is taking a game too seriously.

 

 

 

Personally, I'd buy a new PC/upgrade if I wanted to play a game, hell, I even bought a 360 just so I could play GTA IV.

At what point did it say it was gong to be that large. There will obviously be an increase in the initial loading time (Just like there is now when you load the game up after clearing the cache) but they've said they've kept the texture size down as low as possible.

 

 

 

Oh and I don't think it will be a separate client, I believe it will still be browser based.

My only bug with the updates is that they aren't changing the distance the game renders up to, which seems a bit weak. Other than that, looks great :D

 

 

 

yea exactly, the fog matching the colour of the area is a good solution though. by supporting widescreen resolution, does that include 1440 x 900? (17" laptop).

 

I also think that this update will bring many retired players back to the game (like myself). And ofcourse the players that quit because of the removal op pk'ing and merching, will they come back? And how about new players, Runescape will attract a huge group of new players to the game I think.

Looking at the last screenshot, it seems that they're sticking with the same minimap graphics... I reckon Jagex should use the maps in the Knowledge Base instead (without the roofs showing of course). They looks much more detailed and "3D" instead of being just a flat minimap. Jagex did say it was a complete rework, and that includes the minimap contents too. ;)

 

 

 

On another note, I remember that people were discussing the possibility of an upcoming sky due to there being a "Sun" present. I guess the level restrictions (-1,0,1,2,3,4) basically rule out that possibility any time soon? :lol:

I think it might be a way to view the world map in game, which will be pretty cool. I guess they done it because it would be too annoying to minimise the game to look at the map :lol:

The thing I love the most about this update, is the support of anti-aliasing.

 

I think that most of the images have been done without it, because the edges look pretty rough to me.

 

I really hope that AAx4 doesn't kill my hd2900pro card, like it does in Crysis :lol:

Ah, yeah. Probably to quit the game. I forgot that full screen would mean a different login/logout set-up. Maybe we'll get an update to the actual login screen.
